Quote of the Day - Max Baucus Edition - The Screwing of America

“I don’t think you want me to waste my time to read every page of the health care bill. You know why? It’s statutory language, We hire experts.”

“It’s not perfect, nothing’s perfect, but I’m telling you, ma’am, it’s a good start, Mark my words, several years from now you’re going to look back and say, ‘eh, maybe it isn’t so bad.’”

Max Baucus at a town hall meeting in Libby

How would he know if it is perfect or not if he never read it?  It is simply stunning that a piece of legislation that will affect every single American can be passed without being read, let alone understood, by congress.

It is pink slip time!!

If we made an amendment that all members of congress had to individually read every word of every bill (do we really need to have quizzes), two things would happend: bills and government would get smaller!

Or, just place a cap on the size of the bills.
