Quote of the Day - Daily Kos Blogger Edition

Given that they are such a small minority in this nation, it is odd that so many of our fellow citizens see them as such a threat. Yes, the 9/11 attacks were horrific, but they were more about optics than actual harm. The economy was already taking a hit before the Twin Towers fell. The reaction of the nation to seeing two major buildings in New York fall on T.V. has boosted the attack out of proportion. While the loss of even a single life is to be condemned and the devastation these deaths caused the families of those killed, more than this number of teens are killed every year in car crashes. These are also tragic losses but we do not make the kind of high profile issue of it that the 9/11 attacks are.

Kos is a first class jerk. Those of us who can empathize with the victims and families of 911 continue to be horrified by what happened that day. I will never forget.

That is one of the most demented statements this American has read to date.

There are remote towns and villiages across the globe who have heard of the tragedy yet still not seen the images and understand the horrific carnage.

'Optics' be damned. Americans knew of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor before they saw pictures and later a newsreel and that did not lessen their understanding of what had occured or justified outrage towards those who perpetrated the attack.

I will NEVER FORGET either horrific attack on our soil and those Americans that perished!

This 'dog' person needs a slap upside the head to shake what little mind may reside within it.
