Et Tu, Girl Scouts? - Planned Parenthood Guides To Girl Scouts
The annual commission on the status of woman is being held by the United Nations this week. Apparently Planned Parenthood and The Girl Scouts are joining forces. A brochure was handed out:
Healthy, Happy and Hot
it contains such passages as:
contains explicit and graphic details on sex, as well as the promotion of casual sex in many forms. The brochure claims, “Many people think sex is just about vaginal or anal intercourse… But, there are lots of different ways to have sex and lots of different types of sex. There is no right or wrong way to have sex. Just have fun, explore and be yourself!”
The brochure goes on to encourage young people to “Improve your sex life by getting to know your own body. Play with yourself! Masturbation is a great way to find out more about your body and what you find sexually stimulating. Mix things up by using different kinds of touch from very soft to hard. Talk about or act out your fantasies. Talk dirty to them.”
The brochure also tells students that national laws requiring HIV-positive people to reveal their status to their partner(s) “violate the rights of people living with HIV” and calls for advocacy to “change laws that violate your rights.” It explains, “There are many reasons that people do not share their HIV status. … They may worry that people will find out something else they have kept secret, like they are using injecting drugs, having sex outside of a marriage or having sex with people of the same gender.”
Oh, and it gets better:
Also at CSW last week, the heads of various powerful UN agencies including the UN Population Fund, UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), UN Children's Fund and the World Health Organization released a “UN Joint Statement” under the name of the “UN Adolescent Girls Task Force,” which calls for their agencies to promote and support programs “that empower … adolescent girls, particularly those aged 10 to 14 years.”
One of the chief priorities for empowerment is ensuring access to “life-skills based sexuality education, HIV prevention, and sexual and reproductive health.”
The New York Times recently reported that UN Population Fund had co-sponsored a very controversial curriculum with UNESCO, that included teaching children as young as five to be sexually active and training adolescents to advocate for abortion.
I don't remember learning these things when I was in Girl Scouts. What about you?

This is WAY over the top. No way I would let my child be exposed to this. Anal sex is just the same as all other methods? Do they warn kids that anal bacteria can cause life-threatening urinary tract infections?
And nobody needs to disclose HIV status? Um, last I heard, non disclosure is a lethal assault. These people are awful!
I'm gonna be honest. This scares the s*#@ out of me! I was a girl scout and I will tell you right now, there was nothing *remotely* like this for us. I honestly don't know what to think anymore when formerly respectable organizations are bowing down to uber political correct zealots and essentially taking away the childhoods of kids all over America. I am appalled.
Oh, AM it worse than that. This is something they are doing for the "world". Because after all we are "global citizens".
This is what Progressives do. They attack the family in any way they can. This latest with the girl scouts is just one of a long line of subtle yet not subtle usurpations of parental authority. We have to find a way to hit back, and the best way we can do that is by advocating traditional values. Those tired old concepts like "fidelity", "love", and other "backward" Things like that.
Planned Parenthood, also, is a front for abortion mills.
I agree with what has been said, this is a very sensitive issue and can be dealt only by strengthening a person's core values. Organizations such as Girl Scout should be very careful with their own campaigns because they might end up making the problem worse than solving it.
This story really upset me. I did some more checking on it and found stories about some Girl Scout groups being linked to Planned Parenthood as far back as 2004. Thanks for posting this and I've linked to you over at my Facebook page. I added 2 other links for further info.
I just spoke to a friend of mine who was planning on putting his daughter in Girl Scouts in the fall, and now he is not going to.
If people still choose to have their girls participate than that is their choice (not one I would make), but at least they are aware. I am sure that many moms have no idea this is going on.
