Groupon.com's Superbowl Commercial Fail

Wow, nice way to exploit a tragedy.  I don't think that Groupon made many friends today, but I bet they got some traffic on their website.

Morally, I have no problem with the commercial. But that Timothy Hutton chose to do it was odd. I believe he's a big "Free Tibet" guy.

I expected the PC pushback.

I thought that the commercial was in bad taste when you consider the battle in India over who the legitimate 17th Karmapa is. (no, I'm not joking).

The commercial was in bad taste at many levels, though, and I accept other accusations of tastelessness based on other points in the commercial as equally valid to mine.

Positively tasteless. On an infinite number of levels. And hypocritical, coming from a company run by Lefties and starring a Lefty

Exactly, it is bizarre that Timothy Hutton did this.

I do think it was bad taste. I don't care that the company is trying to make some money, that is their right, but to use people who are being victimized to do it I draw the line.
