Obama's Conscience of the Congress?

In a speech to the Congressional Black Congress President Obama said:

That’s why the CBC was formed – to right those wrongs; to be the conscience of the Congress

1. the inner sense of what is right or wrong in one's conduct or motives, impelling one toward right action
The Honorable G.K. Butterfield
The Honorable Sanford D. Bishop, Jr.
The Honorable Corrine Brown
The Honorable Roland W. Burris
The Honorable Andre Carson
 The Honorable Donna M. Christensen
The Honorable Yvette Clarke
The Honorable William Lacy Clay, Jr.
The Honorable Emanuel Cleaver II
The Honorable James E. Clyburn
The Honorable John Conyers, Jr.
 The Honorable Elijah E. Cummings
The Honorable Artur Davis
The Honorable Danny K. Davis
The Honorable Donna Edwards
The Honorable Keith Ellison
The Honorable Chaka Fattah
The Honorable Marcia L. Fudge
The Honorable Al Green
The Honorable Alcee L. Hastings
The Honorable Jesse L. Jackson, Jr.
The Honorable Sheila Jackson Lee
The Honorable Hank Johnson
The Honorable Eddie Bernice Johnson
The Honorable Carolyn Cheeks Kilpatrick
The Honorable Barbara Lee
The Honorable John Lewis
The Honorable Kendrick B. Meek
The Honorable Gregory W. Meeks
The Honorable Gwendolynne Moore
The Honorable Eleanor Holmes Norton
The Honorable Donald M. Payne
The Honorable Charles B. Rangel
The Honorable Laura Richardson
The Honorable Bobby L. Rush
The Honorable David Scott
The Honorable Robert C. Scott
The Honorable Bennie Thompson
The Honorable Edolphus Towns
The Honorable Maxine Waters
The Honorable Diane E. Watson
The Honorable Melvin L. Watt

Let's see here, Rangel, Burris and Waters are listed on CREW's list of most corrupt members of Congress.  Rangel and Waters are currently under investigation for ethics violations.  Waters is involved with a bank getting TARP money that it didn't really qualify for, all the while she and her husband had a financial stake in.

Burris and Jackson Jr. are knee deep in the Blago mess in Chicago.

Holmes Norton's voice mail message to a potential donor has recently been released. This voice mail is very damaging as she specifically uses donor information even though that is a violation of law.

Conyers mocked people when asked about reading legislation before voting on it.  According to him you need three lawyers to understand the legislation, which is very rich indeed considering he is an attorney.

Cleaver, Clyburn, and Lewis are knee deep in the unproven accusations against the tea party at the Health care Protest back in March.  Even the New York Times has said there is no proof that they incidents even happened.  They will not apologize for calling concerned American citizens racists.

Eddie Bernice Johnson gives her family members and family members of her staffers CBC scholarships against the rules of the scholarships themselves.  Her grandchildren who signed the applications committed fraud due to the fact it very clearly states that you cannot be a relative of any member.  She sent a letter to scholarship administrators from her Dallas office asking that the money be sent directly to her grandsons, again a clear violation of the rules.

These are the people who are the "conscience" of our congress?  We are in real trouble folks.

We are all tired of this embarassment to Houston called Sheila Jackson Lee. I'm not near as concerned about the corruption in Congress as I am about the danger that these thugs pose to our freedom and our country. Thankfully, I don't live in her district, but that hasn't stopped me from fighting for her defeat. John Faulk is a good strong conservative running against her and he opposes her on every major issue. John Faulk is opposed to our runaway spending, he opposes her healthcare vote to imprison people who don't have healthcare, he opposed the fake stimulus plan, he opposes amnesty, and he supports a strong national defense.

John Faulk needs our help with contributions and to call independents in his district and let them know they have someone who is worth voting for. You don't have to live in his district to contribute or to make the calls. He will get you the numbers to call. The demographics have changed in favor for John Faulk since this gerrymandered district was drawn up. Admittedly, it will be a tough battle, but no one gave Scott Brown or Marco Rubio a chance in their elections when they each trailed by 30 points. Now Scott Brown is in the Senate and the wimpy Charlie Crist decided to run independent after getting trounced by the same Marco Rubio that he held a seemingly sure win over. So it can be done. But not by just complaining about how stupid and corrupt Sheila is.
