Organizing for America's Is Going After the Hearts and Minds of Conservatives - Good Luck With That
Organizing for America - Obama's political action group that has melded into the DNC - has sent out an email to try and get it's members to call into conservative talk radio shows. The plan is to have their liberal base call people like Sean Hannity to discuss why healthcare reform is not only needed, but needed quickly.
This should be not only interesting, but downright entertaining. The email has included "talking points" and encourages the use of personal stories of how healthcare reform will affect their lives.
•Be polite, respectful, and clear. Remember, you represent Organizing for America
What I really like about all this, is that they are not even trying to hide the fact that you are doing this for the "team".
DISCUSSION POINTS
These points are only to provide extra information and suggestions. Your personal story will make the most compelling message.
•For most Americans, their health care plan covers too little and costs too much. Far too many people delay or even skip the care they need because they simply can’t afford it.
•The plan the President laid out includes the largest health care tax cut for middle class families in history and makes coverage more affordable for tens of millions of families and small business owners and expands coverage to over 31 million Americans who are currently uninsured.
•This plan will give millions of Americans new choices in health insurance by making coverage more affordable, ending the denial of coverage for pre-existing conditions, putting power in the hands of consumers instead of insurance companies and providing one of the largest tax cuts in history while also reducing our national deficit.
•Reform couldn’t be more urgent – just this month consumers in California were told their premiums could go up as much as 39 percent.
•Too many in Washington are now saying that we should delay or give up on reform entirely, but Americans understand the stakes for our economy and our lives, and we want action.
I don't listen to talk radio all that often, only when I am in the car alone. Maybe I will have to start tuning in more often!!!
Can you imagine how Levin will rip these people apart? Here is just a short list of things that they may not have considered:
1. The vast majority of conservative talk show hosts are very intelligent.
2. They are die hard believers, they are not just doing it to make a buck.
3. The majority of listeners are die hard conservatives. The are not going to be swayed by yet one more unbelievable story of wearing your dead sister's dentures.
4. The hosts are very well prepared before going onto the air.
5. Levin and Rush would love to get a chance to debate these lemmings.
Maybe we should start a movement to call in liberal radio shows. Oh, wait they went out of business.
This just reeks with the smell of desperation.
