Justice Thomas Just Not Black Enough - Eleanor Holmes Norton; Part of the Lunatic Left

Eleanor Holmes Norton just can't help herself. Everything is seen through the prism of color to her.

“We’re not sure this president is ever going to nominate another African- American to the court,” Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-D.C.) said. “He’s African-American. We’ve got someone who proposes to be African-American on the court,”

She of course is referring to Justice Thomas; who was born into abject poverty in the south during segregation, and is now a Supreme Court justice. His parents more or less left the scene when he was very young, and was raised by his grandparents. His grandfather taught him to work hard and pressed him to get an education. He was hardly handed anything, he worked for what he achieved.

This is just yet another example of the lunatic left making everything about race. You are a traitor if you happen to be black and don't want the government to take care of everything for you. If you dare to work hard and let that be its own reward. You have something wrong with you if you see color when choosing a spouse.

While I was looking for the exact quote I came upon this blog. Now the blog that I came upon was not at all sticking up for Norton's comments, but his readers didn't seem to agree with how wrong and racist her comments are. This is one of the biggest problems with the left. They want everyone to give somebody something because they are incapable of taking care of themselves. They can't possibly overcome hurdles on their own. Everybody is owed something. When a person of color and stands up and to say give me only what I earned by hard work they somehow sell out their race. It is sad, truly sad. The victimhood continues.

He’s married to a white woman that represents the Tea Party Movement. Need I say more?

I, however, love Eleanor Holmes Norton and I think she gave Justice Thomas all the respect he deserves. I find the supposed insult … tasteful and not at all shocking … and true.

Thomas has a a long history of trading on race when it souits him and then basically closing the door to other African-Americans behind him (e.g., his stint in the Reagan Administration). There’s nothing wrong with what Norton said. It would seem a little patronizing if a white liberal said it, but Norton isn’t a white liberal. And unlike Thomas, she was part of the civil rights movement and a protege of Bayard Rustin. Thomas played the role of militant when he was in college and changed his tune afterward. his commitment to African-Americans other than himself is neglibible and its not like Norton pointed out other non-Black aspects of his like such as his Caucasian wingnut wife.

Reason #10,043 Why We Should Stop Funding The U.N. - Iran Named To Council for Women's Rights

What else is it going to take for our federal leaders to see that the United Nations is nothing but a waste of money?  Buried in a report that was released on Wednesday came the news that Iran will be getting a seat on the Commission on the Status of Women.

Hmm, let's see how woman are treated in Iran:

All women must be covered in public expect for the face and hands.

No right for divorce (only a man can be granted a divorce)
Has no right to choose her husband
Cannot get an education without permission if she is married
No right to child custody
Have no legal recourse if beaten in public
Have no right to protest these rules
Women who do protest these rules will be arrested, beaten and sometimes raped.
Women legally cannot be raped without witnesses
Women can be stoned to death
Women can be lashed in public squares

Of course some of the company that they will have on this commission is not much better.  The panel will be made up of:

Belgium, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Estonia, Georgia, Jamaica, Iran, Liberia, the Netherlands, Spain, Thailand and Zimbabwe

Funniest Line of the Day - President Obama Edition

"I mean, I do think at a certain point you’ve made enough money"

Aah, the inner socialist is showing

From White on April 15
Today, the President released his 2009 federal income and gift tax returns. He and the First Lady filed their income tax return jointly and reported an adjusted gross income of $ 5,505,409.  He only gets paid $400,000, so he made plenty on the side.

I would think that plenty of people around this country would think that 5.5 million is more than enough.  That being the case, Mr. President take the rest of the year off.

A Personal View of Arizona's Immigration Law

I have been going back and forth on the issues going on in Arizona regarding the new illegal immigrant law that was signed late last week.  My first gut reaction to it, was that I didn't like it.  The "show me your papers" side of it sounded a little too Soviet Union to me.  Then, I actually read the bill and found out that as a legal green card carrier you are required by federal law to carry that on your person at all times.  I also read that Phoenix is now the #2 for kidnappings in the world; only behind Bogata.  So, I no longer have a problem with the bill.  The governor of Arizona contacted the federal government asking for help, and they couldn't even be bothered to answer her let alone try and take care of the problems.  Legal citizens of this country have the right to expect the government to provide security, and they are not.  Our borders are not secure and sadly it will take a terrorist crossing the southern border and causing mass casualities before that will happen.  The political will is not there and what is so upsetting is the fact that it is only about not offending hispanics.  This is a political decision and has nothing to do with the rule of law or not having the resources to take care of it.  My parents came in the front door, learned the language and became Americans and raised their children to be Americans.  I was still taught my culture, but I am an American.  It is not too much ask for others that come here to do the same.

Virginia has some similiar problems, but nothing like Arizona.  Fellow blogger Soloman lives there and gives his first hand account of what has happened to the city that he has lived in for around a decade.

Throughout the the past weekend and into this week, I have watched and listened in amusement and amazement as pundits from both sides of the aisle discussed and debated the legitimacy and morality of Arizona Senate Bill 1070, which has come to be known as the "Arizona Immigration Bill."

Last Friday, Arizona Governor Jan Brewer signed the controversial bill into law, and since that time we have witnessed a firestorm of fury from the left. The insanity and hyperbole from the left has been countered by a consistent and concise display of Constitutional understanding and reasonable discussion from the right, proving once again that liberals function within a realm of emotion while Conservatives operate from a perspective of the rule of natural law as it applies according to The United States Constitution.

I am not surprised at all by the reaction from the left. From "draconian" to "Gestapo-like," the left has portrayed Arizona's new law as a blatant excuse to racially profile. "Driving While Brown" has become the new catch phrase amongst some on the left to describe their hypothetical reason for possibly being pulled over by law enforcement.

Cardinal Mahony of Los Angeles called the new law "Nazi and Soviet-style repression" in a blog - one full day before the State Legislators sent the bill to the governor's desk.

Huffington Post ran a headline calling calling the new law "harsh," while felon, friend of Obama, and Alinskyite Robert Creamer offered an Op-Ed on that site entitled "The Arizona of 2010 Is the Alabama of 1963."

The "Reverend" Al Sharpton has promised he will mobilize people from across the country to march in Arizona – and get arrested, if necessary – to stop the controversial new law.

“We will bring Freedom Walkers to Arizona just like Freedom Riders went to the deep south 50 years ago. [...] We cannot sit by and allow people to be arbitrarily and unilaterally picked off as suspects because of the color of their skin,” Sharpton said.

And of course it came as no surprise that President Barack Hussein Obama chimed in, calling the new law "misguided," and called for Eric Holder and the Obama Social Justice Department to investigate the law for "violations of civil rights."

Some have tried to debate the law's legitimacy based on their personal and political desire for The Constitution to supersede this State law, based on the Supremacy Clause as found in Article VI, Clause 2.

However, this argument fails miserably, based on the fact that S.B. 1070 as written is completely derived from Federal Statute. In fact, Arizona legislators were extremely careful when writing this bill to require local and state law enforcement officers to act within the confines of their normal duties before any immigration status discussion may be discussed. Furthermore, every section in the bill (which is only 17 pages long) provides reference to the specific Federal Statute to which the Arizona law enforcement officers and departments must abide.

Others are claiming that there will be infringements on the Fourth Amendment and Fourteenth Amendment rights of citizens. These questions are easily answered by anyone with a reasonable amount of common sense and some understanding of The Constitution.

The closest either of these two questions come to being reasonable is when applying the Fourteenth Amendment to the child of two illegal aliens, with said child being born inside United States territory. However, Arizona S.B. 1070 refers specifically to The Immigration and Nationality Act, which provides no exceptions for the children of illegal aliens, regardless of their place of birth.

All of this being said, in my opinion the most important aspect of this debate is the perspective of Arizona residents who are American citizens. With that in mind, I would like to offer the story of some of my personal experience, as well as some insight from someone living at what is quickly becoming "ground zero" in the debate over illegal immigration.

When I moved to Arizona from Ohio in early 2001, Phoenix was an up-and-coming city with many inviting possibilities. In particular, Phoenix and its surrounding communities offered a very clean, upbeat, and exciting environment with a positive outlook and a great deal of opportunity to offer.

I moved to Phoenix, Arizona specifically because of the Native American and Mexican history and culture in the region. I had visited Phoenix just one year prior to moving, and had also spent some time in the Southwest as a child. I was very aware of the fact that my new surrounding were going to be quite different than that to which I was accustomed, and I welcomed those differences. In other words, and completely contrary to what leftists would like to believe, I specifically chose Phoenix for it's racial and cultural diversity.

Certainly every major city has its issues, but I was fascinated by the Phoenix metropolitan area's lack of undesirable element. With the exception of one particular part of town, there was almost nowhere within the greater Phoenix area where I felt uncomfortable, regardless of the time of day.

During my first couple of years living here, I thoroughly enjoyed some of the cultural differences I observed.

The style of the cars young Mexican men drive, while certainly not in line with my personal preferences, is certainly intriguing. They take great pride in their workmanship, and each creates his own rolling four-wheeled personality to match his identity.

As a younger, newly single man, I was quite flattered by the flirtations of the Mexican women with whom I worked at my first couple of workplaces. I was flattered as I was called "muy guapo," and I spent many hours during work exchanging the learning of Mexican dialect and the teaching of English to many coworkers, both male and female.

Mexican music can be quite festive, and on many a lazy summer afternoon I enjoyed one of my neighbors opening their doors and turning up their stereo. Filled with excellent vocal harmonies, pleasing guitars, horn sections, and pleasant rhythms, the words might have made no sense to me, but it was pleasant nonetheless.

Hispanic families and their social networks can be quite a sight to behold. Many of my neighbors had gatherings for children's birthdays, wedding anniversaries, and other celebrations. These gatherings can become quite festive and large. As an example, a couple in my last apartment complex had a son, and for his third birthday there were probably 100 people at his party. I don't know how many were family and how many were friends, but they all acted like family. They were all very polite within their group, and they were very courteous to me and my former girlfriend, even inviting us to come partake in the food and fun.

Unfortunately over the past few years things in Phoenix have changed, and not for the better.

A part of Phoenix in which I used to live just five years ago is now a part of town to which most people will not travel unless they absolutely must, and certainly anyone in their right mind avoids that part of town after dark.

A coworker describes his neighborhood as "somewhere I used to feel comfortable, but now I don't go out at night unless I'm packing (a firearm)."

I've discussed the new law with two of my coworkers who have Mexican heritage.

One coworker is a second generation man who is roughly thirty years old, and his father was granted amnesty in 1986.

He is very concerned about the image that is being created by the recent wave of aliens that have come across the border. His father, like almost all from his generation and those before his, made every effort to assimilate, and my coworker and his father both see this new generation of Hispanic immigrants as selfish and irresponsible, paying no mind to the good graces of America and her people and their good fortune for having made it here alive.

The other coworker is a woman in her mid to late fifty's, and her opinion seems to be very much the same. I don't know exactly how and when she came to America or if she was born here, but she has quite a thick accent so I suspect she may be first generation. Regardless, she speaks English very well, and has told me that she refuses to speak Spanish anywhere, no matter her surroundings.

I don't think anyone living in Phoenix really thinks twice about most of the "brown" people living among us. As has been discussed over and over, most of the people who have migrated north have done so for very understandable reasons. They come from a land with nearly no opportunity whatsoever, and now their homeland is being overrun by violent drug cartels, and the corruption has deeply permeated law enforcement at nearly every level in Mexico, with the sole exception of the military.

However, there are many reasons to be concerned about the massive influx of humanity being experienced by The Grand Canyon State.

Our police force is greatly overextended.

Rather than working with local law enforcement, former Arizona governor turned DHS secretary Janet Napolitano has worked against the needs of Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio and Phoenix police. Recently Napolitano's DHS halted construction and forward progress on any type of border security, citing budget concerns.

Our public school systems are overcrowded and underfunded. This problem is certainly not unique to Arizona, but there is no doubt the number of illegals whose children attend American schools free of charge and without paying taxes is overwhelming the system.

Just as is the case nationwide, Arizona's emergency rooms are overcrowded and understaffed. Enactment of the various levels of ObamaCare will certainly do nothing but worsen this already disturbing situation.

Like all of America, property values in Arizona were certainly damaged by the recent financial collapse, but homeowners will find their investments regaining value at a ration less than the national average in some parts of the state, as certain neighborhoods and regions are becoming undesirable.

Arizona has the second highest rate of vehicle theft in the nation.

Also, while John McCain was not quite correct in his statement that illegals are driving around the highways just trying to cause accidents, he was thinking in the right direction. What I believe he was referring to is a very troubling situation that we witness far to often here. This situation is the event of an accident between a legal driver and an illegal alien, after which the illegal will jump from the vehicle and abandon it in an effort to avoid law enforcement. This, in addition to vehicle theft, is causing insurance rates to skyrocket. Carrying state minimum liability insurance in Arizona is more expensive for me than was carrying full comprehensive and collision insurance in Ohio.

Phoenix has the second highest rate of kidnappings per capita in the world. Fortunately this has contained itself to the gang and drug activity that is a byproduct of illegal immigration, but many believe it is just a matter of time before this crime spills over into the general population.

Polls are showing seventy percent of Arizonans agree with S.B. 1070, with similar numbers in agreement nationwide.

However, we should not concern ourselves with positive polling any more than we should be concerned by negative reporting and incendiary rhetoric from the likes of Sharpton, Jackson, Mahoney, or some pop starlet named Shakira who plans to speak to crowds here in Phoenix.

What we must be most concerned with is the rule of law, and our president's complete and total failure to respect the rule of law as it applies to this situation.

President Obama's posturing for political expediency is beyond reprehensible; it is immoral, and it is completely unbecoming of the Office of The Presidency.

President Obama's description of S.B. 1070 as "misguided" immediately reminded me of his stating that the Caimbridge Police "acted stupidly." His reactions are emotional and based on a political ideology, not based on facts or the rule of law.

Our president is supposed to be the leader of all Americans, not just the Blacks, Latinos, college aged youth, and single women with babies who need welfare assistance, which as shown by his latest YouTube video is clearly where he knows he can turn to find a base.

It makes no difference the color of a person's skin, or from what nation they arrived; if any person acts in a manner that is unlawful, Arizona S.B. 1070 gives law enforcement officials the right and responsibility to ask anyone with whom they have contact about their citizenship status - if that officer believes there is reason to suspect said person might be in The United States illegally.

Police might pull me over for speeding or a broken tail light just as easily as they could do the same to an illegal alien, or they might even pull over the embarrassing Congressman Raul Grijalva, a man who has made the ridiculous request of everyone outside Arizona to boycott the people he was elected to represent.

I understand that while it is not probable, it is a reasonable possibility that the officers might ask me to provide documentation beyond my driver's license to prove my citizenship. Of course I do not plan to carry my birth certificate with me everywhere I go, but I certainly would be proud to but federal law does require resident aliens to carry their Green Card with them at all times.

The bottom line is that we should never have selective "social" justice because of race, class, or gender. We should always have equal justice under the law.

America must not allow Congress and President Obama (or any other president, for that matter) to enact any type of "immigration reform" until we have absolute evidence from trustworthy sources that a barrier has been constructed completely across our southern border. In no way should this barrier be seen as discriminatory; instead it must be understood as a method of protection for the rights of the citizens of The United States of America.

The president and Congressional Democrats, with the assistance of their lackey media, will attempt to use immigration as a wedge issue in an effort to gain the support of Hispanics and independents until the November 2010 elections. We must all remember that it is simply for politics and additional voters that these people wish to strike down S.B. 1070 and enact any form of immigration reform at the national level.

Until a border fence is completely constructed reform means amnesty, and we must never lose sight of this fact.

This issue - the debate over immigration and Arizona S.B. 1070, is now the most important issue of our time.

Because of the law enacted by Arizona, we are about to begin one of the most important discussions in our nation's history. By the time this debate is done, we will have full understanding of whether we are a nation of Law as provided by The Constitution, or a nation of Men as desired by Progressives.

Hide the Decline II - Global Warming Parody

An organization called No Cap & Trade put out a parody video called Hide the Decline.  In the original video they used images of Michael Mann.  Mann is the inventor of the "Hockey Stick" graph that has since been found to use bogus data.

Mr. Mann didn't take to kindly to his image being used in the video and has threatened a lawsuit for defamation.  He has no chance of winning the lawsuit as the video is very obviously a parody and the courts have held that parady cannot be defamation.  Although, I would love for him to file the lawsuit.  Putting him under oath would be a great thing for everyone.  We may actually get to the truth about global warming, because we certainly don't have it now.

The original video has been removed from you tube, but they did a second video and incorporated information about being sued.  Enjoy

Go West - Allen West Ahead in First Poll in the FL 22

Hope and Change - HHS and White House Were Aware of Actuary Report Before Healthcare Vote

Initially we were lead to believe that the actuary report of the true costs of the healthcare "reform" bill was not available until after the vote had taken place.  Well, not so fast.  The report was given to both the Health and Human Services Secretary and was passed onto to the White House.  Kathleen Sebelius received the report that gives the more accurate costs of the then legislation one week before the vote.  This report shows that 14 million people lose their current coverage, the costs will rise at a rate of $38.9 per year over the next ten years, and it will dump more people into the medicaid system.

This is bad news on so many levels.  One being that finding a doctor that will take medicaid is difficult at best.  So while the "leadership" in this country were touting the amount of people who will now have access to healthcare knew that they were lying.  This bill does nothing but give people access to insurance; insurance that they will not be able to afford.  This will force millions of Americans to pay the fine instead of getting insurance.  There will be people who currently have insurance losing the coverage they have as they will no longer be able to afford it; paying the fine will be less expensive.  Another unintended consequence will be the already taxed emergency rooms will become more so as people will not be able to find a doctor who will accept their mediciad insurance.

We can then move onto all the President's (wo)men who hid this information from the public and more than likely from some of the house members who voted on this bill.  While this is unlikely to be illegal, it certainly is unethical.  The President who ran on transparency and change is nothing more than a liar and a cheat.  The by hook or by crook way that this law was passed is a shining example of why the founders designed the system to move slowly.  When a law that is going to have an effect on every American the people of this country has the right to demand that it be done carefully and out in the open so everyone understands the implications of how our lives are going to be changed and what it is going to cost.

Where the heck is the media in reporting this?  This is a violation of the trust of the people who voted for this man.  This is not the hope and change that people were expecting, but sadly it is what the conservatives saw coming.

And They Say the Right is Full of Hate - Republicans Re-Education Round Up

Here is one of the latest Facebook groups you can join.

Time for the Federal Government to Round Up Republicans for Reeducation

Let's face it. There is no arguing with Glenn Beck types or Rush Limbaugh listeners. The Republican Party is the problem, not the solution to America's and the world's problems. They are simply too dense and uneducated. They wallow in their greed, fear and anti-intellectualism. They are dragging the rest of us who have to put up with their nonsense down. This is a group for people who think it is time for the Federal government using the resources of the the Department of Homeland Security; Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the Federal Bureau of Investigations, the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the Department of Education to round up, Republicans, Conservatives, Libertarians, Christian Fundamentalists and all others on the right of the political spectrum. The group promotes petitioning the Federal Government to the effect that such people as stated above will be removed and placed into reeducation settlements. The reeducation curriculum has yet to be set

President Bush to Have His Say - Decision Points

President Bush will be releasing a book that is due out November 9th; one week after the mid-term elections.  The book is going to be a slightly different format of an autobiography.  He will be directly dealing with decisions that he has made throughout his life.  When he stopped drinking, when he made the choice to invade Iraq and the many other decisions he made after 9/11.

There are many things about President Bush that I was not happy about, mainly he walked away from conservative principles during the last two years as president.  He also streched the constitution further than it is meant to go.  But, with all the mistakes that he did make, he kept us safe following 9/11.  For that, we all owe him a debt of gratitude.

I am also always impressed by the class that he shows.  He could have released this book before the election, and has chosen not to.  You can disagree with his policy decisions, but the man has a respect for the office of the presidency and our elections that President Obama is sorely lacking.

I, for one, am looking forward to reading this book.

Buddy The Amazing Dog - Leads Police To Hurt Owner

Buddy's human was injured in some sort of explosion in his garage.  The man was able to get the door opened to let the dog out, and somehow the dog sensed that he needed help.  The policeman was not sure where he was going until he saw the dog.  If you look carefully, you will see the dog turn around to make sure the car was still following.

Dogs are amazing.  As I have talked about previously I have problems with depression and my dog Tasha would come and put her paws on my shoulders when I was going through some difficult times.

This is will be on of many told you so's to come.  Instead of the government being responsible about healthcare, they pulled together a bunch of junk that will only raise costs and take away healthcare availability for the majority of Americans.  November can't come soon enough to throw out these bozos.

Tax Payers on the Hook for Healthcare Fines for Congress - Understanding the Bill Would Have Been Helpful

Not that we really needed it, but we have some further evidence that no one really read the pesky little details of the healthcare bill.  There is some debate about whether members of congress and their staff's are still legally eligible for their insurance or not.

The bill will force most of them into the state exchanges in 2014.  As such, some will qualify for the subsidies that are, of course, tax payer funded.  Well, the real kicker is, that since people will be getting the subsides, the employer will then be fined.  So, the tax payers will be paying for the subsidies and then paying the fine for giving those subsidies.  These fines could cost the American tax payers approximately $50 million per year.

Nanny Nancy wasn't kidding when she said we needed to pass the bill to find out what was in it.

Janine Turner's Love of Our Constitution

Janine Turner, self proclaimed tea partier, has started a non proft organization that is teaching people about the constitution and the federalist papers: Constituting America.  There is also a contest for kids.  It is an interesting way of getting children to be interested in our Constitution.  If you have children, please check it out as your kids can win a 2,000 scholarship and learn about our founding documents.

Here is some info from her website:

Mission Statement

The American Constitution, signed on September 17, 1787, is as great a miracle as the ultimate victory from the British in 1782. Providence prevailed in both theatres. It was a monumental feat to beat the British in the Revolutionary War. Equally as awesome was the accomplishment of finding common ground amongst the varied American beliefs in writing the Constitution. Though our forefathers differed, they united in their mission, their vision: A republic; a democracy; America, the beautiful; America, the hope.

The American Constitution was the work of brilliant men with a vast knowledge of history and a thirst for righteousness. They believed that in order for American liberty to survive, her people must be educated. To quote John Adams, “Liberty cannot be preserved without a general knowledge of the people.”

Thus, the mission of Constituting America is based upon this principle: America will not and cannot survive unless her citizens, her children, and her students, are educated about the validity, necessity and Providential Divinity of the Constitution.

The Constitution should not be dismissed or relegated to obsolescence, for as surely as this is done, democracy will meet its demise. Knowledge of the contents of the Constitution and the values of our founding fathers is pivotal to enduring these challenging times.

A renewed, rekindled enthusiasm and a patriot’s desire for the understanding of our Constitution begins with its accessibility. Challenging the mindset of those who consider our Constitution to be antiquated, is our mission. An enlightened America regarding her roots, her basis, and her thesis is the key to America’s pertinent survival. Americans have rights. Americans must have knowledge to understand them.

Constituting America’s mission is to reach, educate and inform the youth and all citizens through modern technology and modern means, because we must not let those who devalue freedom dominate the debate.

~ Janine Turner

Say it Ain't So, ACORN's Bertha Lewis is a Socialist

The video sound quality is not that great, so here is the transcript:

First of all let me just say any group that says I'm young, I'm democratic and I'm a socialist is alright with me. You know that that's no light thing to do, to actually say, I'm a socialist, because you guys know right now we are living in a time which is going to dwarf the McCarthy era. It is going to dwarf the internments during World War Two. We are right now in a time that is going to dwarf the era of Jim Crow and segregation. They are coming and they are coming after you and they are going to be brutal and [unintelligible] ... they've already shown it to you. Organize. Get out into the street.

You really have got to circle the wagons. This is not rhetoric or hyperbole. This is real. This rise of this tea party so-called movement -bowel movement in my opinion- and this great uncovering and ripping off the mask of racism, here's what we have to do. This particular organization, Young Democratic Socialists, you do whatever you can in every way that you can, in all you devote more time to building this organization. [unintelligible] We need more members. Get out there and do everything that you can to build this institution.

H/T to The American Spectator

It is such a shame that people in America that don't believe in Socialism were so wrong about ACORN's intent to turn America into a socialist country.

Conservatism Matters

Photo courtsey of Opus #6

After the election of President Obama many cheered and jeered that conservatism was all but dead. James Carville went as far as to write a book about the next forty years of progressive rule. Oh, what a difference a year can make. The progressive trifecta of Obama, Reid, and Pelosi took care of that.

Just as conservatives feared they over-reached. They mistakenly assumed that the election of Obama and the majorities in Congress was a mandate to push this country further left than ever before. They believed that progressivism reigned supreme. They forget one little detail; this is a center-right country. The growth of the tea party shows that. In one left leaning poll the results were that approval of the tea party grew 8 points in one month. With all the marginalization and demonization of the movement from the lame stream media, that is quite an accomplishment. The tea parties are becoming more organized and larger by the month.

We are rallying not against a black president; we are rallying for the prosperity that this country has been known for around the world. You can fulfill the dream in this country. In many other countries around the world a caste system still exists to a degree. But in America the dream for a better life for your children is attainable.

The conservatives are not interested in guaranteeing it to anyone, but they are not bound and determined to stand in the way of it either. Conservatism matters because we don’t want our children to feel entitled to another’s vision of that dream. We want every individual to find their own unique version of that dream for themselves. For some that could mean just seeing the first member of the family to graduate college, for others it is being the CEO of a large corporation. For many it is finding a person to truly love and grow old with. Every individual has the right to define that dream for themselves. The government needs not be involved.

Conservatism matters because of people like Bertha Lewis; the head of ACORN who has publically says that home ownership is a right. There is no such right in our constitution. Some people simply cannot afford to own a home. We have done no favors to the people who couldn’t afford to pay back those mortgages; they now have no place to live and have to deal with a forclosure on their credit ratings for the next ten years. We have hurt them much more than we helped them.

Conservatism matters because we want every child in this country to get a good education. If a teacher or an entire school system is failing, then the parent of that child should have options to give their child a good education. A good education is the one of the keys of succeeding in life. We cannot simply keep throwing good money after bad into failing school systems and getting no better results. One needs to look no further than DC and Chicago. The two public school systems that spend the most money per student, yet are still failing way behind on not only graduation rates, but also on testing scores. We have very little to show for spending those precious tax payer resources. In DC some of the private schools are actually less expensive than the public schools; which cost almost $15,000/student. Let the parents make the choice for a better education for their child.

Conservatism matters because we should be judging people on the content of their character and their god given skills, not on the color of their skin or ethnicity. Fireman in New Haven, CT should not be denied a promotion they fairly earned because they are white. Written tests should be administered fairly and allow the chips to fall where they may.

Conservatism matters because parents instead of the safe school czar should be teaching their children about sex. It is not the job of the government to subsidize conferences where fisting exhibitions are given to kids as young as 14. Children should find out sex in their own time and in their own way.

Conservatism matters because all life is sacred; even the woman on a feeding tube. The state should not be making life and death decisions. The state looks at numbers, families look at loved ones. A few more months to a child that is losing a parent means the world to them. Conservatism matters.

Happy Anniversary Just A Conservative Girl

One year ago today I stuck my toe into the blogosphere.  I was in the process of getting involved with my local tea party and 9/12 groups and someone had mentioned that a blog was a good way to work through your beliefs.  I had no idea how hard it is to write a blog.  I almost always have something to say, so I had no idea that sometimes I would have a hard time figuring out what I wanted to say.

I have been pleasantly surprised how my readership has grown over the past year.  I was very scared that no one would ever read what I had to say.  So I would like to say thanks to all of you that have come back on a regular basis.

I have worked hard at having the courage to stand behind my convictions even when it has not been popular, and I hope that has come through to you.  I want to say a special thank you to Opus at MAInfo who gave me some pointers and was the first person to add me to her blog roll, which helped increase my readership.

I hope that you have enjoyed reading this blog as much as I have enjoyed creating it.

Liberal Logic - Joe Klein Edition Beck and Palin Inciting Sedition

Since when is telling people to go out and vote considered sedition?

Open Letter to President Clinton - Tea Partiers and Timothy McVeigh

Dear President Clinton:

I am writing to you in regards to the comments that you made about Timothy McVeigh and the tea party movement. The comment was as follows:

“were profoundly alienated, disconnected people who bought into this militant antigovernment line.”

Your premise couldn’t be more wrong. The tea party movement is not disconnected from the government; it is indeed the polar opposite. The “tea baggers” like the left likes to refer to them as, are very connected with the government. These are everyday people who are showing up at locations all across the country to read about the constitution and the federalist papers. We have formed book reading clubs on the founding fathers. We are reading up on economic principles. Why is this so scary to you and others?

We are people who are spending valuable time and our own treasure to educate ourselves as well as our neighbors. In this movement you will find people who have never done these types of things before. We are people who have never even thought about protesting in the past.

To compare us to what happened in Oklahoma City 15 years ago today just doesn’t match up to the historical record. While I understand that you are a politician to the core and as such you have a habit of rewriting history, but this is a stretch even for you. Timothy McVeigh’s problems with the government had to do the act of violence that your administration committed on the Waco compound. The ATF wildly over reacted to people who owned guns. In his sick and twisted mind he was paying back the government for the act that your administration committed. While he obviously had other issues, his main point of contention was Waco.

What is it that you and the left are so afraid of? Is it that we actually are reading the constitution? Or is it that conservatives are getting as organized as the left in this country? The reality remains that at the tea parties there has been no arrests. The violence that has been committed has been done by people on the left who have come to disrupt the lawful and peaceful assembly that we are afforded as American citizens.

We have done nothing more than to hold accountable the out of control government that is spending future generations into oblivion. Mr. President, you are about to watch your daughter embark into marital life. It is not a stretch to assume that children will one day be a part of that life. As such, do you think it is unreasonable for people to stand up and request that the government not put your future grandchildren into a debt that they cannot possibly payback? Ultimately, that is what we are fighting for. We want every child to have a chance of prosperity that you were afforded. You are now a wealthy man, what is so wrong with us wanting our families to be afforded the same opportunity that you were given? There are few, if any, other countries that a man that was brought up in near poverty and rise to the leader of the free world and have a very large bank account that you now have. You are a living example of what this country can provide if you are willing to work hard.

It is time that the left find a different narrative about the average person who is part of the tea party movement. Of course there are people that are upset about the fact that a black man is president, but that doesn’t mean that all should be painted with that insulting brush. We are people who are simply asking for our government to be brought under control and want to keep the liberties that our founders fought to give every generation of Americans. We will continue to protest, we will be showing up at the polls in November, that is how we will show our displeasure with the government. You and your friends that are not taking us seriously will have no choice but to take notice once Election Day comes rolling around.   We will make sure of that.

The Lunatic Left and the Tax Payer Funded Shrine to Uncle Teddy

It seems that members of Congress honestly have no understanding of what broke means.  We are on the road to spending $70 million on a institute on the senate named after the late Ted Kennedy.  Uncle Teddy, the "liberal lion" of the senate.

Uncle Teddy.  The man of virtue that he was.  Let's see, he was a drunk for the majority of his adult life.  He was a womanizer.  He is infamously known for the "waitress sandwich" that he performed with his sidekick Christopher Dodd.  Most notably known for causing the death of Mary Jo Kopechne.  An act that should have put him in jail for manslaughter.  Had he not been a Kennedy, he probably would have been.

While I will admit that he did spend his life in public service, the reasoning behind his service should really be questioned.  Did he do it out of real belief, or was it ego and ambition?

One of the funniest lines to come out of this whole thing came from fellow partner in liberal crime John Kerry:

Kerry also defended the project’s growing cost, saying it could draw tourists to Boston.

As maddening as it this may seem, it actually gets worse.  The additional money set aside by the Senate will come from taking money away from our troops.  The money that has been set aside to purchase ammunition and guns for the people who are presently in a war zone.

This is money that we do not have to spend.  If the liberals of the country want to build a shrine to a man that worshipped for being the "face of liberalism", then fund it yourselves.  The recent data shows that most of the millionaires in this country are now democrats.  Let them pay for it.

And democrats wonder why there are tea parties.

Tea Party Contract With America

The Contract from America

We, the undersigned, call upon those seeking to represent us in public office to sign the Contract from America and by doing so commit to support each of its agenda items, work to bring each agenda item to a vote during the first year, and pledge to advocate on behalf of individual liberty, limited government, and economic freedom.

Individual Liberty

Our moral, political, and economic liberties are inherent, not granted by our government. It is essential to the practice of these liberties that we be free from restriction over our peaceful political expression and free from excessive control over our economic choices.

Limited Government

The purpose of our government is to exercise only those limited powers that have been relinquished to it by the people, chief among these being the protection of our liberties by administering justice and ensuring our safety from threats arising inside or outside our country’s sovereign borders. When our government ventures beyond these functions and attempts to increase its power over the marketplace and the economic decisions of individuals, our liberties are diminished and the probability of corruption, internal strife, economic depression, and poverty increases.

Economic Freedom

The most powerful, proven instrument of material and social progress is the free market. The market economy, driven by the accumulated expressions of individual economic choices, is the only economic system that preserves and enhances individual liberty. Any other economic system, regardless of its intended pragmatic benefits, undermines our fundamental rights as free people.

1. Protect the Constitution

Require each bill to identify the specific provision of the Constitution that gives Congress the power to do what the bill does. (82.03%)

2. Reject Cap & Trade

Stop costly new regulations that would increase unemployment, raise consumer prices, and weaken the nation’s global competitiveness with virtually no impact on global temperatures. (72.20%)

3. Demand a Balanced Budget

Begin the Constitutional amendment process to require a balanced budget with a two-thirds majority needed for any tax hike. (69.69%)

4. Enact Fundamental Tax Reform

Adopt a simple and fair single-rate tax system by scrapping the internal revenue code and replacing it with one that is no longer than 4,543 words—the length of the original Constitution. (64.90%)

5. Restore Fiscal Responsibility & Constitutionally Limited Government in Washington

Create a Blue Ribbon taskforce that engages in a complete audit of federal agencies and programs, assessing their Constitutionality, and identifying duplication, waste, ineffectiveness, and agencies and programs better left for the states or local authorities, or ripe for wholesale reform or elimination due to our efforts to restore limited government consistent with the US Constitution’s meaning. (63.37%)

6. End Runaway Government Spending

Impose a statutory cap limiting the annual growth in total federal spending to the sum of the inflation rate plus the percentage of population growth. (56.57%)

7. Defund, Repeal, & Replace Government-run Health Care

Defund, repeal and replace the recently passed government-run health care with a system that actually makes health care and insurance more affordable by enabling a competitive, open, and transparent free-market health care and health insurance system that isn’t restricted by state boundaries. (56.39%)

8. Pass an ‘All-of-the-Above” Energy Policy

Authorize the exploration of proven energy reserves to reduce our dependence on foreign energy sources from unstable countries and reduce regulatory barriers to all other forms of energy creation, lowering prices and creating competition and jobs. (55.51%)

9. Stop the Pork

Place a moratorium on all earmarks until the budget is balanced, and then require a 2/3 majority to pass any earmark. (55.47%)

10. Stop the Tax Hikes

Permanently repeal all tax hikes, including those to the income, capital gains, and death taxes, currently scheduled to begin in 2011. (53.38%)

Whitney Houston's European Comeback - An Example of Why You Shouldn't Use Drugs

I really don't like making fun of people, but this is awful.  I was a huge fan of Whitney Houston when she first came onto the scene all those years ago.  She had so much talent and she threw it all away.  This is what they should start using for PSA's against using drugs.  What a shame.

Now, listen to this young man - he knocks it out of the park

Things that make you say hmm - Liberal Charity Edition

Tax returns for the President and the Vice President were released on Thursday.

The Obama's gave slighty under 6% to charity

The Biden's gave a whopping 1.44% to charity

I gave 15.6%.   The most of which went to keep Washington DC kids in private/charter schools from a voucher program.  A program that democrats stop funding when they took control of Congress.

Hmm, The Obama's and the Biden's certainly are more generous with my money than they are with their own.

Sarah Palin - the Female Larry the Cable Guy without the Class

This is exactly what is wrong with this country.  This nasty, mean-spirited woman has nothing but contempt for a woman she has never met.  Her reasoning is nothing more than about the fact that Governor Palin has gone out and made some money.  So what?  It certainly seems to me that this woman would love to have make the money that Palin has made.

This is what is wrong with America today.  The left has done nothing but start class warfare in this country.  The oddest thing of it is, if they had the chance to go out and make a great deal of money they wouldn't turn it down.  It is petty.    It is nothing more than a continuation of the victim mentality; poor me, I don't make as much money as she does.  She doesn't have to stand in line at Walmart, so she is a bad person.  Simply stunning.

Ms. Areu, I don't shop at Walmart either.  I don't do it because I don't the like the policies of the company.  Am I bad person too?

A Tale of Two Clintons

Bill Clinton in an interview with The New York Times

“There can be real consequences when what you say animates people who do things you would never do,” Mr. Clinton said in an interview, saying that Timothy McVeigh, who carried out the Oklahoma City bombing, and those who assisted him, “were profoundly alienated, disconnected people who bought into this militant antigovernment line.”

Go West - Allen West Tax Day Tea Party Speech

You gotta love this guy.  A man who has spent his life serving his country and doesn't expect any handouts.  Spread the Work Ethic................

Enjoy and if you live in this district, you must vote for this man.

More Images from DC's Tax Day Tea Party

I thought I would share some additional photos from the rally on the mall last night.

They must have attended a failing public school, I would recheck your math if I were them.
Tucker Carlson was one of the speakers last night.  When he came on stage he told us about Obama's quote while at a fundraiser in Miami.  "they should be saying thank you"

All In for Liberty - Michele Bachman at DC Tax Day Tea Party Updated Videos

One of the nice things of having a tea party down the street from the Capitol building was that we were able to see some good conservative speakers tonight.  Steve King, Jim DeMint, Marsha Blackburn, and Michele Bachman all came and spoke at the evening tea party.

I really spent most of the evening paying attention to the speakers, so I didn't take any pics of the speakers.  Michele Bachman told us she is all in for liberty.  Andrew Breitbart gave a great speech, and didn't miss any words whatsoever.  I certainly hope that no TV station was playing it live, as they will be fined by the FCC.

We had some Coffee Party people join us.  One was carrying a sign that said
I'm Ignorant
I thought it was my duty to go up and tell him that he was right.  We also had the "you are racists" crowd.  We also had the young kids going throughout the audience with their Che shirts on. This girl was very young, I just want to go up and shake them.  Do they read?  He is very upfront in his diaries, he was a cold blooded killer.  Just amazing.

All and all it was a very good evening.  We had some good entertainment, the conservative rapper whose name I cannot remember at the moment, Victoria Jackson sang her "Communist in the White House" song standing about 100 feet from the White House, so that was pretty funny.

Here are some photos.

I was able to find some videos on You Tube.  I have this feeling these were posted by The Other McCain.  I actually got a chance to say hello today really quick.

World Jewish Congress Open Letter to President Obama

This letter will appear in both The Wall Street Journal and The Washington Post today.  I don't think they are happy.

Dear President Obama:

I write today as a proud American and a proud Jew.

Jews around the world are concerned today. We are concerned about the nuclear ambitions of an Iranian regime that brags about its genocidal intentions against Israel. We are concerned that the Jewish state is being isolated and delegitimized.

Mr. President, we are concerned about the dramatic deterioration of diplomatic relations between the United States and Israel.

The Israeli housing bureaucracy made a poorly timed announcement and your Administration branded it an “insult.” This diplomatic faux pas was over the fourth stage of a seven stage planning permission process – a plan to build homes years from now in a Jewish area of Jerusalem that under any peace agreement would remain an integral part of Israel.

Our concern grows to alarm as we consider some disturbing questions. Why does the thrust of this Administration’s Middle East rhetoric seem to blame Israel for the lack of movement on peace talks? After all, it is the Palestinians, not Israel, who refuse to negotiate.

Israel has made unprecedented concessions. It has enacted the most far reaching West Bank settlement moratorium in Israeli history.

Israel has publicly declared support for a two-state solution. Conversely, many Palestinians continue their refusal to even acknowledge Israel’s right to exist.

The conflict’s root cause has always been the Palestinian refusal to accept Israel as the nation state of the Jewish people. Every American President who has tried to broker a peace agreement has collided with that Palestinian intransigence, sooner or later. Recall President Clinton’s anguish when his peace proposals were bluntly rejected by the Palestinians in 2000. Settlements were not the key issue then. They are not the key issue now.

Another important question is this: what is the Administration’s position on Israel’s borders in any final status agreement? Ambiguity on this matter has provoked a wave of rumors and anxiety. Can it be true that America is no longer committed to a final status agreement that provides defensible borders for Israel? Is a new course being charted that would leave Israel with the indefensible borders that invited invasion prior to 1967?

There are significant moves from the Palestinian side to use those indefensible borders as the basis for a future unilateral declaration of independence. How would the United States respond to such a reckless course of action?

And what are America’s strategic ambitions in the broader Middle East? The Administration’s desire to improve relations with the Muslim world is well known. But is friction with Israel part of this new strategy? Is it assumed worsening relations with Israel can improve relations with Muslims? History is clear on the matter: appeasement does not work. It can achieve the opposite of what is intended.

And what about the most dangerous player in the region? Shouldn’t the United States remain focused on the single biggest threat that confronts the world today? That threat is a nuclear armed Iran. Israel is not only America’s closest ally in the Middle East, it is the one most committed to this Administration’s declared aim of ensuring Iran does not get nuclear weapons.

Mr. President, we embrace your sincerity in your quest to seek a lasting peace. But we urge you to take into consideration the concerns expressed above. Our great country and the tiny State of Israel have long shared the core values of freedom and democracy. It is a bond much treasured by the Jewish people. In that spirit I submit, most respectfully, that it is time to end our public feud with Israel and to confront the real challenges that we face together.

Yours sincerely,

Ronald S. Lauder
