The Lunatic Left and the Tax Payer Funded Shrine to Uncle Teddy
It seems that members of Congress honestly have no understanding of what broke means. We are on the road to spending $70 million on a institute on the senate named after the late Ted Kennedy. Uncle Teddy, the "liberal lion" of the senate.
Uncle Teddy. The man of virtue that he was. Let's see, he was a drunk for the majority of his adult life. He was a womanizer. He is infamously known for the "waitress sandwich" that he performed with his sidekick Christopher Dodd. Most notably known for causing the death of Mary Jo Kopechne. An act that should have put him in jail for manslaughter. Had he not been a Kennedy, he probably would have been.
While I will admit that he did spend his life in public service, the reasoning behind his service should really be questioned. Did he do it out of real belief, or was it ego and ambition?
One of the funniest lines to come out of this whole thing came from fellow partner in liberal crime John Kerry:
Kerry also defended the project’s growing cost, saying it could draw tourists to Boston.
As maddening as it this may seem, it actually gets worse. The additional money set aside by the Senate will come from taking money away from our troops. The money that has been set aside to purchase ammunition and guns for the people who are presently in a war zone.
This is money that we do not have to spend. If the liberals of the country want to build a shrine to a man that worshipped for being the "face of liberalism", then fund it yourselves. The recent data shows that most of the millionaires in this country are now democrats. Let them pay for it.
And democrats wonder why there are tea parties.
