Conservative Girl Adventures - CPAC Day 2 Part 3
Anyone who has previously read my blog knows how much I heart Michele Bachmann. I have a girl crush on her. She was the person that I was most looking forward to today. She came out looking as beautiful as she always does. She started out with some jokes and talked about her state of Minnesota. I believe it was her district that had the billboard of Bush with the caption "Miss Me Yet", so she put a slide of the billboard, and then discussed our out of control debt. She then went into an article by Charles Krauthammer that appeared in The Weekly Standard in October of 2009; Decline is a Choice. She then went into some interesting American history from both the revolutionary war as well as WWII. How the history of our country shows that we have always chosen ascendency instead of decline. It was a very impassioned speech, just as I expected. Like I said, I LOVE her.

Conservative Girl Adventures - CPAC Day 2 Part 1
It is lunch time at CPAC. The speeches this morning were quite inspiring. The biggest thing that I got out of today is that I think that Mike Pence is making a run for president in 12. His speech was amazing. If you can find a video, please watch.
He was truly amazing.
Oh, and I got interviewed by the Wall Street Journal. He wanted my opinions as a person who is new to the political activist world. So we talked about Palin, Pawlenty, Pence, and the Tea Parties. It was fun. I can't wait to see what he writes; maybe my blog will get a mention!!!

Conservative Girl Adventures - CPAC Day 1
Today was the offical start of CPAC. It was quite a day. It started out with Marco Rubio. If you have not heard of him, you don't know what you are missing. He is a conservative dynamo. He is smart, articulate, and a staunch conservative. He is first generation American, his parents escaping Castro's Cuba. I wish I lived in Florida so I could cast my vote for him. Marco was a huge hit. You can take a look at video at Another Black Conservative.
Another suprise for us all was the appearance of Scott Brown; who introducted Mitt Romney. He was greeted with thunderous applause. As all conservatives know, he is going to slow down Obamanation. Mitt also gave a good speech. I personally am not a huge fan of Mitt, but I like his stance on certain topics. I believe that he is yet again favored to win the straw poll. He didn't get my vote, but he has won three years in a row.
Again, I met some great people and am looking forward to tomorrow. One of my political heros is speaking tomorrow...........Michele Bachman. I just LOVE her.
Here are a few of the sights

I also found a booth that was selling original buttons. He has buttons from Reagan's first presidental election. I didn't have any cash with me today, so I will need to stop by tomorrow. He even had buttons from when Reagan ran for governor.
I had some issues today, and was unable to get many photos, but I will do a better job tomorrow.

Winter Olympics Moment - Lindsey Vonn & Julia Mancuso
The best downhill female skier in the world has finally gotten her olympic gold. Her past showings at the olympics have been a disappointment for her. That came to an end today. Her teammate Julia Mancuso came away with the silver medal. This is the first time in olympic history that US woman has won the gold medal.
Congrats Lindsey and Julia

When is Enough Enough? - Leave Special Needs Kids Alone
The Family Guy took a shot at Sarah Palin's son Trig on Sunday night. If they want to go after Sarah Palin's politics, go ahead. She is a public figure and it comes with the territory. She has made a choice to be out in the limelight. She puts her belief system out there for public consumption. Her son Trig has not.
For those of you who have never been around a special needs child, here is a little lesson for you. These kids are innocent; and will remain that way for life. They are the sweetest children; loving and caring. They will do anything to help someone else out. They love being around people and are always willing to help out. Granted, not all special needs children are functional, but the majority of them are.
They don't see danger. This is one of the biggest worries for parents. They know that their kids will not be able to protect themselves from people who will take advantage of them. These kids get their lunch money stolen from them, they get picked on, and they are ridiculed, and are constantly disappointed because they can't keep up with the other kids. This doesn't necessarily change as they become adults.
Imagine being a parent to a child that you know is always in danger of being used and victimized. Imagine what it feels like as a parent to know that you are leaving behind a child that will continue to need care once you are gone. Imagine what it feels like to know that you have to put away enough money for that child to live on. Now, imagine what it feels like to realize that it is yet again becoming acceptable in our society to make the most vulnerable amongst us a target.
Special needs people always see the good in people, even when others are showing them their worst. The next time you laugh at a television show that is poking fun at a special needs child, just remember that.

Funniest Line of the Day - Tim Kaine Edition
Tim Kaine - DNC Chair on a conference call with reporters:
"We know it's going to be a challenging and tough cycle. Historically it always is. But we're not panicked people. When a couple races don't go our way, we don't panic."
I think maybe you should be panicked.

Winter Olympics Moment - Truly an End to an Era
For the first time in 12 winter olympics a Russian couple will not be on the medal stand for pairs ice skating.
Zhao Hongbo, Shen Xue - China
Pang Qing, Tong Jian - China
Robin Szolkowy, Aliona Savchenko - Germany
One of the American pairs; Amanda Evora & Mark Ladwig finished 10th. While that may not seem impressive, it was a career best for the pair. They may not have won a medal, but they completed a dream; seizing the moment and doing the very best job that you can. No one can ever ask anymore than that.
Congrats Amanda & Mark

Seth Westcott became the first person in history to win back to back gold medals in snowboardcross. Now, this is a sport I have never heard of, and from the looks of it, will never, ever try.

Buh Bayh - Sen. Bayh Retiring
Evan Bayh of Indiana has decided to call it quits. He will be retiring at the end of this year. Bayh has always seemed to me to be a decent man even though I didn't agree him on many issues. This must come as a real blow to the democrats. The filing for the Indiana primary is at noon tomorrow. So, there will be no democratic primary. The state party will choose a nominee.
His statements were quite interesting:
"Congress is not operating as it should," Bayh said at a news conference in Indianapolis, Indiana, adding there's too much partisanship and "the people's business is not getting done."
Bayh said he loves public service, but does "not love Congress" and is "not motivated by strident partisanship or ideology."
He cited the Senate's recent failure to pass a jobs bill and legislation that would have created a deficit reduction commission as evidence of what he characterized as a broken political system.
"The only [way] we are able to govern successfully in this country is by liberals and progressives making common cause with independents and moderates," Bayh told ABC News. "Whenever you have just the furthest left elements of the Democratic Party attempting to impose their will on the rest of the country -- that's not going to work too well."
It would seem to me that him waiting until one day before the filing deadline was a parting shot to far left of his party. Good for you Evan.

Winter Olympics Moment - Hannah Kearney
I love the Olympics. You have all these athletes that spend years training for a few minutes of competition. The first gold medal for the US went to Hannah Kearney. Four years ago, she didn't even make the final round for Women's Moguls. She was up against the favorite; hometown girl Jennifer Heil who was favored to win the first gold medal ever won on homesoil for Canada.
Congrats Hannah

Welfare Mom & Obama Voter Speaks
This is truly scary. It is utterly amazing to me that this woman doesn't get the reason she is where she is because people like Obama are "taking care of her". Stop smoking pot, take care of your kid and get your ass in school and your life will get better, really.
Below I have listed a copy of a "hate mail" letter sent to my good friends at The Liberal Heretic. In the letter a welfare mom takes them to task for belittling her career choice of living on the taxpayers dollar. Let's read and then go over a few definitions.
I thought you were a bitch when I read your sight. Now I think you are a bitch and living in anohter world.
You said people should be responsable For themselves. Well all I wanted was some help raising my son, whose father walked out on me when he was 9. I deserve that much.
Thats why i voted for President Obama. He re[resents people like me. The courts gave me child support, but they didn't make my ex to see my son, or to see me. He was a good dad, I won't lie. He picked our son up every weekend and spent time with him, and i made the courts take my child support right out of his check so i always got tht.
In the mean time, I worked for a while at a restrant, and I didn't like it. I figured I was smart so I could go back to school and be a teacher or something. I went to school for a while and actually became a certified substitute teacher. Everything went good until the county (I'm not naming) set up drug testing and I failed because I sometimes smoked some pot when I got home, just to relax, but never when my son was around.
That county was full of shit. It couldn't have been in my hair sample because I hadn't smoked any of it in weeks. And its not like i would smoke it at school. So there is alot of injustise around and thats why we all voted Obama.
So anyways, my friend sends me your site and I listen to a radio show of yours where you make fun of welfare moms, and i want to tell you its not nice. I had to go on welfare because my sons father walked out on me, and I didnt do anything to deserve it. He owed me way more than child support but the corupt judge said that since we wernt legally married I couldnt get that. So ya I took money from the goverment instead. It isnt like its money from your pocket or any other right wingnut. so quit complaining about Obama. He is the best President we have ever had, and no matter what people like you say, it wont change that. he is going to help all of us who need help.
You dont so just quit wining.
We would be here all day if I went over all of her misspellings, so I will skip that and just go over a few definitions from The New American Welfare Mom Dictionary:
bitch- One who takes offense to another living off their hard earned money.
restrant- A temporary job one works at before they realize they're smart
certified substitute teacher- a certification which requires no knowledge of grammar or spelling.
injustise- when a substitute teacher is fired for smoking pot...soon to be eliminated by Obama.
welfare- money you get from the government when your babies daddy leaves you and a "corupt" judge doesn't award you all of his money...and you get fired from your teaching job for smoking pot...the money is "magical" in that it apparently doesn't come out of working Americans pockets, who evil wingnuts rumor are the employers of the government.
Obama- The best President we have ever had, who is going to help all of us who need help
This is a classic example of how Obama was elected. This is from an obviously undereducated woman who has no idea how the government and/or the courts work in our nation. She honestly thinks Obama and the liberals like him want to help her. On the contrary, they count on a continuing cycle where she and others like her will remain dependent on the same government programs their entire lives, thereby creating an uneducated class which will blindly vote them back into office so they can continue to receive their "government cheese" without having to work for it themselves. It's time to clean house this November Americans

Medina and the Truthers
Debra Medina, a candidate running for the republican nomination for governor of Texas was a guest on Glen Beck's radio show today. I have this feeling that she regrets that decision. Apparently there have been rumors that she is a "truther".
Glen broached that topic and her answer was
“I think some very good questions raised have been raised in that regard,”.
So Beck went a little further and asked her directly if she believed that the US government was involved in blowing up the Twin Towers on 9/11
“good questions have been raised and haven’t been answered,”
"there's some very good arguments and I think the American people have not seen all the evidence there."
Again, Beck tried to give her a chance to back away from these comments and asked her if she had advisors that were truthers. She didn't seem to want to answer that question and said that she was not going to get involved in mind control of her staff. She then said it was a federal issue and her campaign was about the State of Texas.
Shortly after her interview she released this statement:
I was asked a question on the Glenn Beck show today regarding my thoughts on the so-called 9/11 truth movement. I have never been involved with the 9/11 truth movement, and there is no doubt in my mind that Muslim terrorists flew planes into those buildings on 9/11. I have not seen any evidence nor have I ever believed that our government was involved or directed those individuals in any way. No one can deny that the events on 9/11 were a tragedy for all Americans and especially those families who lost loved ones.
The question surprised me because it's not relevant to this race or the issues facing Texans. This campaign has always been about private property rights and state sovereignty. It is focused on the issues facing Texans. It is not a vehicle for the 9-11 truth movement or any other group.
The real underlying question here, though, is whether or not people have the right to question our government. I think the fact that people are even asking questions on this level gets to the incredible distrust career politicians have fostered by so clearly taking their direction from special interests instead of the people, whether it's Rick Perry and his HPV mandate or Kay Hutchison and voting for the bank bailout. It is absolutely the right and duty of a free people to question their government. Texas does not need another politician who tells you what you want to hear, then violates your liberties and steals your property anyway. I fully expect to be questioned and to be held accountable as Governor, and that's the underlying issue here: should people be questioning their government. And the answer is yes, they should be.
Her statement doesn't match what she said when being questioned. Beck gave her the chance to back away from the initial statement and she didn't take it. I have no way of knowing if she is indeed a truther or not, but she certainly didn't do herself any favors here. I think she can kiss her chance of winning the nomination goodbye.

Conservative Dynamo Angela McGlowan For Congress
Angela McGlowan has announced her candidacy for the congressional seat in the Mississippi 1st. The seat is currently being held by Travis Childers, who won the seat in a special election in mid 2008. The seat had been reliably republican until the special election that took place after Gov. Haley Barbour sent Roger Wicker to the senate after Trent Lott stepped down at the end of 2007.
Angela is an energetic activist, author, CEO, and formerly under contract as a Fox News Analyst. Her very strong views of how minorities are being used by the Democratic Party are evident in her book Bamboozled: How Americans Are Being exploited by the Lies of the Liberal Agenda. She has been involved in the Tea Party movement; even speaking over the weekend at the convention that was held in Tennessee.
She is very certain of her views and doesn't mince words:
PRESS RELEASE – Angela McGlowan’s Anti-Incumbent Campaign Takes Off
Angela McGlowan Kicks Off Campaign for Congress
“Massachusetts was just the beginning, let the rebellion in the House of Representatives start right here in Mississippi”
Oxford, MS – Oxford native, author, and former Fox News Political Analyst, Angela McGlowan kicked off her campaign today in Mississippi’s first congressional district to take back the peoples’ seat in Congress and safeguard it against entrenched, incumbent career politicians. During her 5-city, 5-day tour of the district, McGlowan will visit with Mississippians in Oxford, Corinth, Tupelo, Columbus and Hernando.
McGlowan is the conservative pro-life, pro-gun, pro-small business Mississippi Republican who, at TEA Parties in Tupelo, Hernando and Memphis, has taken a high profile stand for working families against the liberal policies of President Barack Obama, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, that promote big government spending, record national debt and excessive levels of taxation.
“In Massachusetts, the people rose up and reclaimed their seat in the U.S. Senate in an election that’s been compared to “the shot heard around the world,” stated McGlowan. “But that was just the beginning, let the rebellion in the House of Representatives start right here in Mississippi.
"From Oxford to Columbus, Hernando to Tupelo, we will take back the peoples’ seat in Congress and safeguard it against entrenched, incumbent career politicians. Together, we will declare to Barack Obama, and liberal incumbent politicians throughout Washington, D.C.: no more taxpayer funded bailouts of irresponsible banks, insurance companies and automakers that have already added over a trillion dollars to our national debt, no more taxpayer funded ‘stimulus’ bills, chalk-full of wasteful government spending, no more job killing, multi-trillion dollar tax increases.
“Instead, I will fight to balance the budget, significantly cut our national debt, lower taxes on working families, enact policies that reward small businessmen and women for daring to be the economic engine, job creator and backbone of our local communities, and make sure children get the education they deserve because education and economic development go hand in hand.
“And, let me be clear, no one will defend and promote our conservative Mississippi values more vigorously. You can depend on me to protect the precious right to life of the unborn, preserve the sanctity of traditional marriage, defined as the union between one man and one women, defend law-abiding gun owners from of each and every attempt by liberals in government to infringe on their Constitutional right to keep and bear arms, and help make your families secure in the face of radical Islamic terrorists sworn to the destruction of our Judeo Christian values by any means necessary.”
Hmm, it wasn't all that long ago that the Congressional Black Caucus was talking about the lack of black legislators. I wonder if they will be backing her candidacy?
Can We Be Grownups? Gibbs Mock Of Private Citizen Palin
As we all know by now, Sarah Palin wrote some notes on her hand during her speech at the Tea Party Convention on Saturday. Apparently, the left has found this to be a big deal. I guess it continues the narrative that she is stupid. I am not sure how one makes that leap, but ok. Maybe she just didn't have a piece of paper handy.
Bloggers from both sides of the aisle pick things that may not be really relevant to how our government is run. For example a lot has been made about Michelle Obama's work on childhood obesity. I personally find this to be a good cause.
Obesity is a real problem in our society and needs to be dealt with. Teaching children healthy eating habits is something that they will carry with them for the balance of their lives. It will allow them to be healthier as they grow into adults. For purposes of disclosure here, I have battled with an eating disorder for decades. I spent the majority of my life fighting battles with food; in my case, the lack of it. So for me, I think she is doing the right thing by giving attention to teaching kids to eat right. I want to pull my hair out when I see kids that are still in strollers drinking soda and eating candy bars. But, many on the right have been critical of her choice to highlight this issue.
Sarah Palin has more than her fair share of criticism; some of which has come from me. I don't like some of her recent decisions, stumping for Rand Paul and John McCain as two examples. I happen to have my own view points on her making a run for the presidency that many conservatives don't agree with. I don't want her to get the nomination. I don't think that she can win for one. Another reason that I am becoming more leery of her is that it seems to me that she is getting the same type of blind loyalty and rock star status that President Obama receives (or at least did receive). It isn't healthy for any politician in America to have that type of following. To me, that isn't what America is about. As citizens of this country we are free to criticize and protest. It is our responsibility as citizens to question, not to follow blindly. That being said, I am a blogger. My words aren't showing up in living rooms across the world.
Andrea Mitchell, a "reporter" for NBC was on the morning show at MSNBC and was mocking Palin with notes written on her hand. Had Olbermann or Chris Matthews done this it would be a different thing. They are commentators, they are paid to give opinion and obviously mock. Andrea Mitchell is "journalist"; one that I had felt had a reputation of being a hard worker. She is personally liberal; fine. She is an American and has a right to her opinion. But her job is to give facts; she is not paid to give opinion or to mock.
So today, I guess Bagdad Bob Gibbs wanted to get in on the joke and showed up in the press briefing room today with his pre-snow storm grocery list written on his hand. This is even worse than what Andrea Mitchell did. He is the public face of The President of The United States. His briefings are shown all over the world. He is paid tax payer funds to perform a job that gives information to American public in regards to what the administration is up to, not to mock private citizens. This should be considered below the standards of the white house. Oh, by the way, many of us are looking for that Hope and Change too.

Liberal Logic - NOW's Reaction to Tebow Ad
The over-hyped Tebow family ad has now aired. The ad was nothing more than mom talking about almost losing her baby. It was playful and sweet. The ad was done to draw attention to the website; it never mentioned abortion. Towards the end of the ad, it looks like Tim has tackled his mother. It was a playful lighthearted family moment.
Since the pro choice people who were screaming about this ad can't admit to having egg on their faces this is what they come up with:
In remarks that are raising eyebrows from pro-life advocates, NOW President Terry O'Neill said that bit of the ad glorified violence against women.
"I am blown away at the celebration of the violence against women in it," she told the Los Angeles Times. "That's what comes across to me even more strongly than the anti-abortion message. I myself am a survivor of domestic violence, and I don't find it charming. I think CBS should be ashamed of itself."
Abortion advocate Amanda Marcotte had this post on Twitter that has drawn a reaction from pro-life advocates:
"Hey Mom! Tried to kill you from the womb and failed. How about a blind side tackle? Violence against Moms."
One of the saddest parts of this is there was another commercial for a candy bar (snickers I think) with Betty White, who was shown to be tackled and brought down into the dirt, but NOTHING was said about this. On the newscast I saw after the game, they named this the most popular commercial of the game. Apparently, tackling little old ladies is fine with them.
This only proves that their complaint is really against a woman who chose life. Pro abortion advocates refer to people as Anti-Choice, what is closer to the truth is that they are anti-life.

Moving KSM Trial to Virginia?
I decided to go and take these pictures during daylight hours. It will be easier to see the neighborhood that this courthouse is in. This is where Eric Holder in his infinite wisdom is thinking about holding the trial of KSM.
This is the courthouse
This is a condo building complex. There are three or four of these building on this block. These are very large buildings. I would say that on this one block alone there are several thousand units.
This a office and retail space as well as a hotel, directly across the street from the courthouse.
More office space. The Patent and Trade Building is around the corner from here.
More office and retail space
Yet more residental space. All of this is within two blocks of the courthouse.
This is the King Street Metro station. You can see on the attached map that it is two stops from the airport and five stops from the scene of the crime; The Pentagon.
While this is not nearly as populated as lower Manhatten, it is still densely populated and not the place for the likes of KSM and his cronies.

Happy Birthday, President Reagan
We could use your optimism now..........
Inaugural Address
January 20, 1981
Senator Hatfield, Mr. Chief Justice, Mr. President, Vice President Bush, Vice President Mondale, Senator Baker, Speaker O'Neill, Reverend Moomaw, and my fellow citizens:
To a few of us here today this is a solemn and most momentous occasion, and yet in the history of our nation it is a commonplace occurrence. The orderly transfer of authority as called for in the Constitution routinely takes place, as it has for almost two centuries, and few of us stop to think how unique we really are. In the eyes of many in the world, this every-4-year ceremony we accept as normal is nothing less than a miracle.
Mr. President, I want our fellow citizens to know how much you did to carry on this tradition. By your gracious cooperation in the transition process, you have shown a watching world that we are a united people pledged to maintaining a political system which guarantees individual liberty to a greater degree than any other, and I thank you and your people for all your help in maintaining the continuity which is the bulwark of our Republic.
The business of our nation goes forward. These United States are confronted with an economic affliction of great proportions. We suffer from the longest and one of the worst sustained inflations in our national history. It distorts our economic decisions, penalizes thrift, and crushes the struggling young and the fixed-income elderly alike. It threatens to shatter the lives of millions of our people.
Idle industries have cast workers into unemployment, human misery, and personal indignity. Those who do work are denied a fair return for their labor by a tax system which penalizes successful achievement and keeps us from maintaining full productivity.
But great as our tax burden is, it has not kept pace with public spending. For decades we have piled deficit upon deficit, mortgaging our future and our children's future for the temporary convenience of the present. To continue this long trend is to guarantee tremendous social, cultural, political, and economic upheavals.
You and I, as individuals, can, by borrowing, live beyond our means, but for only a limited period of time. Why, then, should we think that collectively, as a nation, we're not bound by that same limitation? We must act today in order to preserve tomorrow. And let there be no misunderstanding: We are going to begin to act, beginning today.
The economic ills we suffer have come upon us over several decades. They will not go away in days, weeks, or months, but they will go away. They will go away because we as Americans have the capacity now, as we've had in the past, to do whatever needs to be done to preserve this last and greatest bastion of freedom.
In this present crisis, government is not the solution to our problem; government is the problem. From time to time we've been tempted to believe that society has become too complex to be managed by self-rule, that government by an elite group is superior to government for, by, and of the people. Well, if no one among us is capable of governing himself, then who among us has the capacity to govern someone else? All of us together, in and out of government, must bear the burden. The solutions we seek must be equitable, with no one group singled out to pay a higher price.
We hear much of special interest groups. Well, our concern must be for a special interest group that has been too long neglected. It knows no sectional boundaries or ethnic and racial divisions, and it crosses political party lines. It is made up of men and women who raise our food, patrol our streets, man our mines and factories, teach our children, keep our homes, and heal us when we're sick -- professionals, industrialists, shopkeepers, clerks, cabbies, and truckdrivers. They are, in short, ``We the people,'' this breed called Americans.
Well, this administration's objective will be a healthy, vigorous, growing economy that provides equal opportunities for all Americans with no barriers born of bigotry or discrimination. Putting America back to work means putting all Americans back to work. Ending inflation means freeing all Americans from the terror of runaway living costs. All must share in the productive work of this ``new beginning,'' and all must share in the bounty of a revived economy. With the idealism and fair play which are the core of our system and our strength, we can have a strong and prosperous America, at peace with itself and the world.
So, as we begin, let us take inventory. We are a nation that has a government -- not the other way around. And this makes us special among the nations of the Earth. Our government has no power except that granted it by the people. It is time to check and reverse the growth of government, which shows signs of having grown beyond the consent of the governed.
It is my intention to curb the size and influence of the Federal establishment and to demand recognition of the distinction between the powers granted to the Federal Government and those reserved to the States or to the people. All of us need to be reminded that the Federal Government did not create the States; the States created the Federal Government.
Now, so there will be no misunderstanding, it's not my intention to do away with government. It is rather to make it work -- work with us, not over us; to stand by our side, not ride on our back. Government can and must provide opportunity, not smother it; foster productivity, not stifle it.
If we look to the answer as to why for so many years we achieved so much, prospered as no other people on Earth, it was because here in this land we unleashed the energy and individual genius of man to a greater extent than has ever been done before. Freedom and the dignity of the individual have been more available and assured here than in any other place on Earth. The price for this freedom at times has been high, but we have never been unwilling to pay that price.
It is no coincidence that our present troubles parallel and are proportionate to the intervention and intrusion in our lives that result from unnecessary and excessive growth of government. It is time for us to realize that we're too great a nation to limit ourselves to small dreams. We're not, as some would have us believe, doomed to an inevitable decline. I do not believe in a fate that will fall on us no matter what we do. I do believe in a fate that will fall on us if we do nothing. So, with all the creative energy at our command, let us begin an era of national renewal. Let us renew our determination, our courage, and our strength. And let us renew our faith and our hope.
We have every right to dream heroic dreams. Those who say that we're in a time when there are not heroes, they just don't know where to look. You can see heroes every day going in and out of factory gates. Others, a handful in number, produce enough food to feed all of us and then the world beyond. You meet heroes across a counter, and they're on both sides of that counter. There are entrepreneurs with faith in themselves and faith in an idea who create new jobs, new wealth and opportunity. They're individuals and families whose taxes support the government and whose voluntary gifts support church, charity, culture, art, and education. Their patriotism is quiet, but deep. Their values sustain our national life.
Now, I have used the words ``they'' and ``their'' in speaking of these heroes. I could say ``you'' and ``your,'' because I'm addressing the heroes of whom I speak -- you, the citizens of this blessed land. Your dreams, your hopes, your goals are going to be the dreams, the hopes, and the goals of this administration, so help me God.
We shall reflect the compassion that is so much a part of your makeup. How can we love our country and not love our countrymen; and loving them, reach out a hand when they fall, heal them when they're sick, and provide opportunity to make them self-sufficient so they will be equal in fact and not just in theory?
Can we solve the problems confronting us? Well, the answer is an unequivocal and emphatic ``yes.'' To paraphrase Winston Churchill, I did not take the oath I've just taken with the intention of presiding over the dissolution of the world's strongest economy.
In the days ahead I will propose removing the roadblocks that have slowed our economy and reduced productivity. Steps will be taken aimed at restoring the balance between the various levels of government. Progress may be slow, measured in inches and feet, not miles, but we will progress. It is time to reawaken this industrial giant, to get government back within its means, and to lighten our punitive tax burden. And these will be our first priorities, and on these principles there will be no compromise.
On the eve of our struggle for independence a man who might have been one of the greatest among the Founding Fathers, Dr. Joseph Warren, president of the Massachusetts Congress, said to his fellow Americans, "Our country is in danger, but not to be despaired of . . . . On you depend the fortunes of America. You are to decide the important questions upon which rests the happiness and the liberty of millions yet unborn. Act worthy of yourselves."
Well, I believe we, the Americans of today, are ready to act worthy of ourselves, ready to do what must be done to ensure happiness and liberty for ourselves, our children, and our children's children. And as we renew ourselves here in our own land, we will be seen as having greater strength throughout the world. We will again be the exemplar of freedom and a beacon of hope for those who do not now have freedom.
To those neighbors and allies who share our freedom, we will strengthen our historic ties and assure them of our support and firm commitment. We will match loyalty with loyalty. We will strive for mutually beneficial relations. We will not use our friendship to impose on their sovereignty, for our own sovereignty is not for sale.
As for the enemies of freedom, those who are potential adversaries, they will be reminded that peace is the highest aspiration of the American people. We will negotiate for it, sacrifice for it; we will not surrender for it, now or ever.
Our forbearance should never be misunderstood. Our reluctance for conflict should not be misjudged as a failure of will. When action is required to preserve our national security, we will act. We will maintain sufficient strength to prevail if need be, knowing that if we do so we have the best chance of never having to use that strength.
Above all, we must realize that no arsenal or no weapon in the arsenals of the world is so formidable as the will and moral courage of free men and women. It is a weapon our adversaries in today's world do not have. It is a weapon that we as Americans do have. Let that be understood by those who practice terrorism and prey upon their neighbors.
I'm told that tens of thousands of prayer meetings are being held on this day, and for that I'm deeply grateful. We are a nation under God, and I believe God intended for us to be free. It would be fitting and good, I think, if on each Inaugural Day in future years it should be declared a day of prayer.
This is the first time in our history that this ceremony has been held, as you've been told, on this West Front of the Capitol. Standing here, one faces a magnificent vista, opening up on this city's special beauty and history. At the end of this open mall are those shrines to the giants on whose shoulders we stand.
Directly in front of me, the monument to a monumental man, George Washington, father of our country. A man of humility who came to greatness reluctantly. He led America out of revolutionary victory into infant nationhood. Off to one side, the stately memorial to Thomas Jefferson. The Declaration of Independence flames with his eloquence. And then, beyond the Reflecting Pool, the dignified columns of the Lincoln Memorial. Whoever would understand in his heart the meaning of America will find it in the life of Abraham Lincoln.
Beyond those monuments to heroism is the Potomac River, and on the far shore the sloping hills of Arlington National Cemetery, with its row upon row of simple white markers bearing crosses or Stars of David. They add up to only a tiny fraction of the price that has been paid for our freedom.
Each one of those markers is a monument to the kind of hero I spoke of earlier. Their lives ended in places called Belleau Wood, The Argonne, Omaha Beach, Salerno, and halfway around the world on Guadalcanal, Tarawa, Pork Chop Hill, the Chosin Reservoir, and in a hundred rice paddies and jungles of a place called Vietnam.
Under one such marker lies a young man, Martin Treptow, who left his job in a small town barbershop in 1917 to go to France with the famed Rainbow Division. There, on the western front, he was killed trying to carry a message between battalions under heavy artillery fire.
We're told that on his body was found a diary. On the flyleaf under the heading, ``My Pledge,'' he had written these words: ``America must win this war. Therefore I will work, I will save, I will sacrifice, I will endure, I will fight cheerfully and do my utmost, as if the issue of the whole struggle depended on me alone.''
The crisis we are facing today does not require of us the kind of sacrifice that Martin Treptow and so many thousands of others were called upon to make. It does require, however, our best effort and our willingness to believe in ourselves and to believe in our capacity to perform great deeds, to believe that together with God's help we can and will resolve the problems which now confront us.
And after all, why shouldn't we believe that? We are Americans.
God bless you, and thank you.

Where is Danny Williams? - In America Getting Heart Surgery
Danny Williams, the Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, needs heart surgery. A surgery that is not available to him in his home province. So where does he go? No one is sure which medical facility he is in, but it is indeed in the United States of America.
My question is, where are the Canadians going to go if we make our system like theirs?

Potty Mouth Emanuel Has Gone a Step too Far - Special Needs Slur. Special Needs Mom Sarah Palin Weighs In
Rahm Emanuel, Obama's foul mouthed Chief of Staff, made a comment about his fellow democrats during a heated strategy session:
"Fucking Retarded"
This is the 2nd time in less than a year that this administration has made comments about people with special needs. On Leno, the president talked about his bowling skills and the special olympics. While what the president said was clearly meant to be a joke, it isn't funny to the people who have children with special needs. Not only do these kids work really hard to get the chance to compete, they are given a chance to have an accomplishment that most other kids take for granted; the feeling of acceptance and belonging.
Special needs kids live in the fringes of our society. They are riduculed and left out of ordinary activities that other kids do daily. Kids are very cruel; many just don't know better, but some have parents who make comments like Rahm's. What makes this so bad is that he is justifing the behavior of the kids who mock and ridicule. While that may not be his intent, it is still the end result.
A little story to highlight this point:
There was a four year old little boy who was going to summer art camp. His parents sent him to this camp with "normal" kids to help him learn to exist in the outside world. He was placed in with the two and three year olds, since he didn't know his colors and wouldn't be able to keep up with the four year olds. Towards the last day of camp he came home with an invitation to go to a pool party after the final day. The mom knew one of the other mothers that was going to be there and thought it would be good for his confidence to go on his own since she would be there to watch out for him. Those two little boys had hit it off and have played together a few times. On the final day of camp she packed his towel and swimsuit, and brought snacks for the kids. The mom asked him again if he was sure he wanted to go and he was excited to have a real playdate as he is big boy now. That afternoon, mom got a call from the teacher. She explained that her son was not actually invited to the pool party and the invitation went home by mistake, she took full responsibility for the error and asked her to come and pick him up. She went to get her little boy. By the time she got there, he realized that he was not going to be included and was very upset. Mom was trying to calm down her crying little boy and promised to have a private party for the two of them that afternoon. The woman who was throwing the party told the mother that she didn't think that since he was "slow" he would know how to swim and would need too much attention. The little boy has a pool in his backyard and is a pretty good swimmer. The little boy and the mom went and had a wonderful afternoon; buying a book and eating hot fudge sundae's, which is a very rare treat for him. The little guy even got to choose dinner that night; hot dogs, much to his mother's chagrin. She was able to make him forget about the snub; at least this time.
This is the type of attitude that parents of special needs kids deal with on a daily basis. Not only do they have to prepare their kids for other children's jokes, they have to deal with adults that are completely insenstive and downright stupid. Rambo Rahm words are just making that attitude acceptable within our society. The chief of staff called Tim Shriver, the head of the special olypmics, to apologize; yet again.
I agree with Sarah Palin, this isn't good enough; Rahm Emanuel needs to resign. This is the second such incident in less than a year. The White House should not be seen as dissing the special needs community. At this point in time any thinking person knows not to use this word. It is a disgrace that the President and his staff don't seem to get it. Simply calling the head of the Special Olympics this time around is not enough. What about the apology to the upset parent that contacted Sarah Palin to make her aware of the comment? Where is his apology Mr. President? I will say this again, image matters. We can't fire you, but you can fire deadfish.

Liberal Logic - Chris Matthews - Repulicans Are Like Khmer Rouge
Chris Matthews is at it again. It isn't enough that last week he talked about how he forgot President Obama was black for an hour, he is now comparing republicans to a Cambodian re-education camp, which was really a death camp that killed about 2,000,000 people.
Can you just imagine what would be done if a conservative said something like this about democrats? It wouldn't be pretty.

KSM Trial - Did Robert Gibbs Damage the Prosecution's Case?
“He will be brought to justice, and he will likely be executed for the heinous crimes he has committed,” Gibbs said on CNN's "State of the Union." “That you can be sure of.”
The mantra that is being used by the administration for the rationale of trying KSM in open court is to show the world what the American justice system is all about. Well, is it just me, or did Baghdad Bob Gibbs just get KSM a mistrial? Where was the word alleged? This is not the only statement from the administration that is similar to this. Even the President himself has seemed to indicate the KSM will be found guilty. While I can’t imagine any jury in this country not finding him guilty, it is still something that officials can’t say out loud like this. Any decent defense attorney will file a motion for dismissal based on these statements.
The administration has even gone as far as to say that if for some reason that there is not a guilty verdict KSM will not be allowed to go free. We have top administration officials making statements of his guilt, saying that he will never allowed to be freed regardless of what the verdict is, and it seems that the administration has already decided that the death penalty will be jury’s verdict. Why are we having a trial then? Could it be to satisfy the far left’s thirst to punish the Bush administration?
The American justice system is about proving guilt beyond a reasonable doubt, and a presumption of innocence. The President is a former constitutional law professor. You don’t get to have it both ways here. You either give KSM all the constitutional rights to a fair trial or you don’t. The administration needs to make up its mind what it is going to be. They are either going to follow the law and allow the process to take place fairly, or they are going to try and score points with American public by making it seem that holding the trials on US soil is a good idea. These type of statements go a long way to make it look like the latter.

Publicity Whore Allred Weighs in Tebow Superbowl Commercial
Gloria Allred, the publicity whore, is at it again. This time she has decided to weigh in on the Tebow’s commercial that is due to air during the superbowl. She has decided that if the ad doesn’t meet with her approval she is going to file a lawsuit on the grounds of false advertising. Her argument is that if the Tebow’s don’t explain that abortion is illegal in the Philippines. One of the many problems with Ms. Allred’s view is that the Philippines does have an exemption when the life of the mother is at risk.
This is a woman that can’t resist getting herself involved in things that will put her on the air. Every time you turn around the woman is on television yapping about something or another. She has had a long career taking cases of the disadvantaged, but she has also had a long career using the legal system to promote her own particular view of the world. She has sued the Boy Scouts for gender discrimination for not letting in girls, which she actually referred to it as gender apartheid. What the little girl couldn’t go into the girl scouts? What a waste of tax payer money and resources.
She has been involved with the Octomom, the Scott Peterson case, the nipple ring controversy with the TSA (The woman didn’t realize that her rings may set off the metal detectors?), Rob Lowe’s nanny on sexual harassment, Britney Spears’ bodyguard, gay marriage, Michael Jackson’s kids, and most recently one of Tiger’s mistresses. Wherever there is a chance to get herself in the papers and on TV; there she is.
What is most telling is that she is saying that no woman should live in a country where abortion is illegal. Umm, Ms. Allred abortion is not illegal in this country; and Tebow’s commercial certainly isn’t going to make it so. This is simply a way for her to get her views out there. My question is who cares what your views are? Ms. Allred you are almost 70 years old, maybe it is time that you take the millions that you have made over the years and ride out to the sunset and leave the rest of us alone. If someone wants to hire you, then fine. But please, stop wasting tax payer resources to hoist your views on the rest of us. We don’t care what you think.
