Liberal Logic - Mayor Emanuel Edition

Rahm Emanuel, Chicago's mayor, has put his liberal logic on full display for all the world to see.  You see, the mayor decided to weigh in on the Chik Fil A non-controversy by announcing Chik Fil A doesn't share "Chicago Values".  Really?  It wasn't all that long ago that the mayor admitted that some in his city have the wrong values.

Now this same man has decided that the city needs the help of The Nation of Islam to patrol the streets to help cut down on the unending violence in the city now being dubbed "MurderTown".

So this idiot liberal would like to keep Chik Fil A from expanding in the City of Chicago, which of course violates our laws, because they believe in traditional marriage.  This belief, held by millions around the country, is simply that marriage is between one woman and one man.  It in no way wants to see discrimination against homosexuals.  Gay people can do what ever they want to do with that one exception.  That is it.  We don't call for violence against people, we don't call for the death of anyone.  We are simply stating that the institution of marriage is something that is held sacred and by redefining marriage we are being asked to accept beliefs that violate our religious views and conscience.

Islam, however, is a very different story:

The Sunan Abu Dawud, named after its editor, is another reliable collection of hadith. Ibn Abbas reports the following about early Islam and Muhammad’s punishment of homosexuals: . . . "If you find anyone doing as Lot’s people did, kill the one who does it, and the one to whom it is done" (vol. 3, p. 145, no. 4447).
The next one from the same collection says that an unmarried man who commits sodomy should be stoned to death: "Ibn Abbas said: if a man who is not married is seized committing sodomy, he will be stoned to death" (vol. 3, p. 1245, no. 4448).
Thus, these two passages in Sunan Abu Dawud go further than merely rejecting and banishing homosexuals or sexual sinners, as we saw in Bukhari’s collection. Rather, Ibn Abbas says that Muhammad and the early Muslim community commanded their execution.
The hadith editor Timidhi repeats Ibn Abbas’ narration: "Ikrima reported on the authority of Ibn Abbas that God’s messenger [Muhammad] said: ‘If you find anyone doing as Lot’s people did, kill the one who does it and the one to whom it is done.’" (Recorded in Mishkat al-Masabih, trans. James Robson, vol. 2, p. 763, Prescribed Punishments).
In the same hadith collection, the Mishkhat al-Masabih, a compendium that brings together other hadith collections, are found the punishments of being burned to death and having heavy objects thrown on the guilty homosexuals:
The Nation of Islam and Louis Farrakhan also have such a good record when it comes to your faith, Mr. Mayor:

"[T]he Jews don't like Farrakhan, so they call me Hitler. Well, that's a good name. Hitler was a very great man. He wasn't a great man for me as a black person, but he was a great German. Now, I'm not proud of Hitler's evils against Jewish people, but that's a matter of record. He raised Germany up from nothing. Well, in a sense you could say there's a similarity in that we are raising our people up from nothing."
— Louis Farrakhan, radio interview, March 11, 1984

"Jews have been conclusively linked to the greatest criminal endeavor ever undertaken against an entire race of people … the black African Holocaust. … The effects of this unspeakable tragedy are still being felt among the peoples of the world at this very hour."
— The Secret Relationship Between Blacks and Jews (NOI book), 1991

"Who are the slumlords in the Black community? The so-called Jews. … Who is it sucking our blood in the Black community? A white imposter Arab and a white imposter Jew."
 — Speech by NOI national official Khalid Muhammad, Nov. 29, 1993
"These false Jews promote the filth of Hollywood that is seeding the American people and the people of the world and bringing you down in moral strength. … It's the wicked Jews, the false Jews, that are promoting lesbianism, homosexuality. It's the wicked Jews, false Jews, that make it a crime for you to preach the word of God, then they call you homophobic!"
 — Louis Farrakhan, Saviours' Day speech, Feb. 26, 2006

So these are Chicago Values.  Good to know. With values like these, it is no wonder the murder rate is so high.

Rahm Emanuel Now in the Crosshairs - Closing of Under Performing Public Schools Raises the Hackles of Jesse Jackson

Rahm Emanuel is about to experience for himself that the racebaiters of the world don't care about your politics.  He is planning on closing 17 poorly performing public schools.  Not something that is sitting well with the likes of Jesse Jackson.
“I cannot wait another year and allow a child to be caught in a school system that, for five years running, has been on the watch list or the troubled list with no prospect of getting off of it. … Nothing to me is worse in the sense of discrimination than leaving kids in a system that, year-in-and-year-out, has been scored as failing.”
Not that you are apt to hear me say this often, but he is right.  These schools need to be closed and these kids have the right to get a better quality education.  Jackson on the other hand is calling it:
“educational apartheid,"
No, Mr. Jackson apartheid is keeping these black children in a failing school that gives them little to chance of becoming a productive adult.  It would be apartheid to keep them there.  Jackson is under the impression that just spending more money will solve the problems.  Chicago spends more money per pupil then they do for the students in the public school system where I live.  We have a 90% on time graduation rate and almost 92% rate of students going onto a post-secondary education.  The problems go beyond money.

Someone actually took the time to write down the costs associated with the low graduation rates for the city of Chicago (which is just above 50%) and the results of what it costs the community are staggering:
15% of high school dropouts were in the jail system in the year 2010-2011 overall and rise to 25% for blacks.  More than 50% of the prison population in Illinois are high school dropouts.
Nearly 48% of 18 to 64-year-old high-school dropouts in Chicago did not work even one week last year. The statewide number, 42%, is not much better and is four times higher than the figure of those with bachelor's or higher degrees.
If those numbers are not enough:
The study, based on U.S. Census data, suggests that dropouts nationally will be a net drain on the government, collecting an average of $70,850 more in benefits like food stamps in their lifetimes than they'll pay in taxes. In comparison, the typical high-school grad will make a net positive contribution of $236,060.
About 33% of dropouts will collect food stamps, twice the share of graduates, and fewer than half will own a home. And such bleak figures tend to be passed down to their children.
"Children living in families headed by high-school dropouts face a substantially above average probability of encountering cognitive, health, housing adequacy and nutrition problems that will limit their future, their chances of securing a bachelor's degree by their mid-20s are close to zero."
Now, I don't believe that every person should go to college.  Some people are not cut out for it and they would prefer to do jobs that don't require a college degree.  But they will still usually need some sort of training or education in order to find a job that will allow them to live above the poverty line.  While that is not true in all cases, it is true in many.

So it seems that Jesse Jackson would prefer that these kids just stay in these schools, increase the odds of them dropping out and have a much harder time leading lives that will bring more financially security to them.   He plans on filing a lawsuit to stop the closing of these schools.

There are no words for the stupidity of what Jesse Jackson is doing.  People need to wake up and realize that the likes of Jesse Jackson has lost all relevance and his ideas of what constitutes fairness not only are outdated but dangerous to the community that he says he is trying to help.

This report details the costs to society as a whole in just one state.  multiply this by 50% and it is not hard to see why we are broke.  Our broken educational system is not just drain on us financially, it is becoming a national security issue.  It was just 40 years ago that we had the highest rates of high school and college graduates in the world.  We now rank at 21st.  That is how far we have fallen is such a short time.

Again, you not likely to see this again real soon - Kudos to Mayor Emanuel for having the courage to take on the unions and Jesse Jackson to do what is right for children instead of what is easy.

Potty Mouth Emanuel Has Gone a Step too Far - Special Needs Slur. Special Needs Mom Sarah Palin Weighs In

Rahm Emanuel, Obama's foul mouthed Chief of Staff, made a comment about his fellow democrats during a heated strategy session:

"Fucking Retarded"

This is the 2nd time in less than a year that this administration has made comments about people with special needs.  On Leno, the president talked about his bowling skills and the special olympics.  While what the president said was clearly meant to be a joke, it isn't funny to the people who have children with special needs.  Not only do these kids work really hard to get the chance to compete, they are given a chance to have an accomplishment that most other kids take for granted; the feeling of acceptance and belonging.

Special needs kids live in the fringes of our society.  They are riduculed and left out of ordinary activities that other kids do daily.  Kids are very cruel; many just don't know better, but some have parents who make comments like Rahm's.  What makes this so bad is that he is justifing the behavior of the kids who mock and ridicule.  While that may not be his intent, it is still the end result.

A little story to highlight this point:

There was a four year old little boy who was going to summer art camp.  His parents sent him to this camp with "normal" kids to help him learn to exist in the outside world.  He was placed in with the two and three year olds, since he didn't know his colors and wouldn't be able to keep up with the four year olds.  Towards the last day of camp he came home with an invitation to go to a pool party after the final day.   The mom knew one of the other mothers that was going to be there and thought it would be good for his confidence to go on his own since she would be there to watch out for him.  Those two little boys had hit it off and have played together a few times.  On the final day of camp she packed his towel and swimsuit, and brought snacks for the kids.  The mom asked him again if he was sure he wanted to go and he was excited to have a real playdate as he is big boy now.  That afternoon, mom got a call from the teacher.  She explained that her son was not actually invited to the pool party and the invitation went home by mistake, she took full responsibility for the error and asked her to come and pick him up.  She went to get her little boy.  By the time she got there, he realized that he was not going to be included and was very upset.  Mom was trying to calm down her crying little boy and promised to have a private party for the two of them that afternoon.  The woman who was throwing the party told the mother that she didn't think that since he was "slow" he would know how to swim and would need too much attention.  The little boy has a pool in his backyard and is a pretty good swimmer.  The little boy and the mom went and had a wonderful afternoon; buying a book and eating hot fudge sundae's, which is a very rare treat for him.  The little guy even got to choose dinner that night; hot dogs, much to his mother's chagrin.  She was able to make him forget about the snub; at least this time.

This is the type of attitude that parents of special needs kids deal with on a daily basis.  Not only do they have to prepare their kids for other children's jokes, they have to deal with adults that are completely insenstive and downright stupid.  Rambo Rahm words are just making that attitude acceptable within our society.  The chief of staff called Tim Shriver, the head of the special olypmics, to apologize; yet again.

I agree with Sarah Palin, this isn't good enough;  Rahm Emanuel needs to resign.  This is the second such incident in less than a year.  The White House should not be seen as dissing the special needs community.  At this point in time any thinking person knows not to use this word.  It is a disgrace that the President and his staff don't seem to get it.  Simply calling the head of the Special Olympics this time around is not enough.  What about the apology to the upset parent that contacted Sarah Palin to make her aware of the comment?  Where is his apology Mr. President?  I will say this again, image matters.  We can't fire you, but you can fire deadfish.
