The Lunatic Left and Glen Beck

All one must do is see the address of my blog to see what a fan of Glen Beck that I am. Glen calls it like he sees it. He doesn't pull any punches and people are listening. Sometimes he is a little kooky and sounds a little paranoid, but he is usually right on the money.

This is sick and disgusting. I have never heard Rush or Beck say that they hope someone kills themselves.



Proving that liberal talk radio still has new frontiers of bad taste to explore, syndicated host Mike Malloy has openly called for FOX News Channel host Glenn Beck to commit suicide, something he hopes will occur live and on the air.Heard during yesterday's Malloy program, it's the second time in a week that the former WLS/ Chicago talker has called for the death of one of his political opponents. Earlier, he said he hoped Rush Limbaugh would "choke to death".

Statement from DNC Communications Director Brad Woodhouse on the Republican Party and Allied Groups' Mob Rule

The Republicans and their allied groups - desperate after losing two consecutive elections and every major policy fight on Capitol Hill - are inciting angry mobs of a small number of rabid right wing extremists funded by K Street Lobbyists to disrupt thoughtful discussions about the future of health care in America taking place in Congressional Districts across the country.

However, much like we saw at the McCain-Palin rallies last year where crowds were baited with cries of 'socialist,' 'communist,' and where the birthers movement was born - these mobs of extremists are not interested in having a thoughtful discussion about the issues - but like some Republican leaders have said - they are interested in 'breaking' the President and destroying his Presidency.

These mobs are bussed in by well funded, highly organized groups run by Republican operatives and funded by the special interests who are desperately trying to stop the agenda for change the President was elected to bring to Washington. Despite the headline grabbing nature of these angry mobs and their disruptions of events, they are not reflective of where the American people are on the issues - or the hundreds of thousands of thoughtful discussions taking place around kitchen tables, water coolers and in homes.

The right wing extremists' use of things like devil horns on pictures of our elected officials, hanging members of Congress in effigy, breathlessly questioning the President's citizenship and the use of Nazi SS symbols and the like just shows how outside of the mainstream the Republican Party and their allies are. This type of anger and discord did not serve Republicans well in 2008 - and it is bound to backfire again.

Open Letter to President Obama

Dear President Obama:

I have had about enough of your administration's characterization of me. I am not a nut, an extremist, domestic terrorist, or a protester who is being paid by the insurance companies. I am not now nor have I ever worked in any capacity in the medical or insurance fields.

I am nothing more than a concerned citizen who is deeply afraid of what you are trying to do to this country. The people who are showing up at these town halls are people who have grandparents, parents, and children. We are concerned about the direction the health care debate is taking. The different versions of these bills are on-line and accessible for us to read. Some of us have actually taken the opportunity to do so.

We are not lawyers nor lawmakers so the language can be a little difficult to understand; but we get the gist. We understand that care as you get older will be more difficult to come by, we understand that abortion will be on demand with tax-payer funds, we understand that government will audit companies that are self-insured, we understand that money will be cut from medicare, and we don't like it. We are standing up and saying no.

Mr. President we also understand that the bills are not being read. We understand that CBO changed the price tag on the bill after meeting with you at the White House. We understand that Speaker Pelosi is trying to strong arm the more moderate/conservative members of your party to get her way. We understand that you are simply not telling the truth when you say you are not looking for single-payer system. We have the video that proves it. Try as you may, you can not back away from your own words. We are not stupid.

Mr. President, I have never said a word when people from Code Pink were out protesting the war. They are Americans, they have a constitutional right to protest. You did not hear the Bush Administration dismiss Cindy Sheehan for her anti-military views. Please stop dismissing mine.

You and I will find almost no common ground; as I disagree with virtually everything that you stand for and believe in. But I have never said that you don't have the right to stand up say them. All I am asking that you, The President of the United States, realize that when you took an oath to uphold the constitution it included my right to protest.

If you and your administration want to paint me as right-wing nut, than so be it. But it seems to me that I am more willing to stand by your constitutional rights than you are of mine. That is a truly sad commentary of the man who is my president.

Why: Congress is attempting to craft the first major reform of our nation’s health care system in 45 years. With over 47 million Americans uninsured, medical costs rising everyday, and obtaining quality insurance coverage becoming more and more difficult, the time for action has come.

Congressman Moran has invited Dr. Dean to speak at this forum in Northern Virginia, to reflect upon the current effort given his years of experience as a leading health care expert, governor and physician. Conservative Girl Adventures - Cash for Clunkers

With all the hullabaloo of the past few days of the cash for clunkers program, I decided to go on a conservative girl adventure. I happen to have a car that is older, almost 16 years old to be exact. There is nothing wrong with it and it has very low mileage for being an older car. So, I don’t need to buy a new car. If I found a good deal on what I wanted I may have actually taken advantage of it.

Well, it really was an adventure. My first choice for a car purchase would be a used car, as I don’t think it is necessary to spend tens of thousands of dollars on something that immediately loses value. That is not an option with this program. I was very upfront with the people who were helping me, that I really just wanted to look into the program and didn’t want to take up too much of their time.

I set out as soon as the dealerships opened thinking that the flow of people would be less and I wouldn’t feel bad about taking time away from someone who really would buy something. I first went to the Toyota dealership. They were very busy, which is a good thing for the commission sales people. I was told within 15 minutes that my car didn’t qualify for the program. The sales person looked at my engine and went to his computer and came back and told me that my car gets a combined 20mpg and that the car had to be 18 or less to qualify. Due to the fact that my car is older it doesn’t get that, but I guess that is neither here nor there.

The street that the dealership is on is a big main road that has many dealerships on it. So I thought to myself why not go and see if I get the same answer from all. So my next stop was the Honda dealership. I had a very hard time finding a salesperson to talk to me. Again, very good news for the salespeople who work there, they will make some money this week. I again told the salesperson that I didn’t want to take a great deal of their time and just wanted some questions answered. This dealership told me that I qualified for the $3500 rebate and told me that I had to purchase a car that got a combined 24mpg. I thanked the salesperson and told him I would look around to see if I liked any of the cars that would qualify. I was very surprised to find out that I could get a hybrid for less money than the Accord. I personally don’t have a problem with hybrids. I actually kind of like the idea of buying a car that would save me quite a bit of money on gas.

I didn’t even to get into my car to make my way over to the next dealership. A Volvo/Volkswagen dealership is directly next door. My very first new car was a Volkswagen and I drove that car into the ground, and never had to change the clutch. So, I think they are good cars. I went into my spiel about just wanting a few answers, this dealership told me that I qualify for the full $4500 and only needed to find a car that got a combined 23mpg.

So then I decided to stop at the Ford dealership. This dealership gave me the same answer as the Honda dealership except that they told me that I had to get a car with a minimum of a combined 25mpg. I then looked at a few cars there and found a few that would fit into that. I then decided to ask how this rebate system worked. This is where it got a little dicey. I would have to go through the normal credit application process, and then I would have to fill out some paperwork for the rebate. After I was approved for the credit I would then have to leave my car with them, take the new car with a dealership plate. I was also told that I had to sign an agreement that if I didn’t qualify for the government program I would either return the car or pay them the $3500. So I asked the women why I would sign something that said I may have to pay for rebate program when she told me that I do qualify. Her answer was that with the system being a little backed up and the program up in the air they would need that just in case and that it would be fine. I understand that they work on commission and times for them have not been good lately. I have no problem with her trying to make some money. I am just not comfortable with the idea of signing something like that.

At the end of the day, I am not going to get a new car. I don’t need it. But what I really walked away with was the belief that I definitely don’t want the government to run my healthcare, when they can’t even run a program like this. I talked to four different people and got four different answers. If they can’t administer a program like this, there is no way they can administer a program for healthcare coverage for every American.

Mind Control?

I will let you decide, but this doesn't sound like something that I want to embrace: This is an amendment that has been added to a technology and energy bill by Brian Baird (D-WA).


The fourth bill approved by the Subcommittee, H.R. 3247, would establish a social and behavioral sciences research program at the DOE to identify and understand factors that influence both energy consumption, and acceptance and adoption of new technologies. The research could then be used to improve the design, development, demonstration and application of energy technologies.

“Technology development and investment are only part of the solution to our energy problem,” said Baird, the bill’s author. “The decisions each of us make every day have a significant impact on energy production and consumption. It is important that we understand why some technologies are more readily embraced than others. And it is important that we know how to communicate effectively about the nature of our energy challenges and know how to empower individual citizens to participate in overcoming them.”

There was an article in Time Magazine in April regarding how the Obama administration not only embraces behavioral psychology, he has put people in his administration that have very intensive backgrounds in it. Sadly, this article was written very matter-of-fact and the author was not at all disturbed by it. I have a degree in marketing, so I understand the concepts and accept that they are a valuable tool to sell things. My question is should our government be employing these tactics?

This will create yet another czar. At least this one will be done by congressional oversight, but I think this may be creating precedent that we can do without.

Operation Collar a Blue Dog

As you know, we have made fighting the Democrats' health care plan the cornerstone of our activist activities this summer. Well, we're about to turn it up a notch (or two). Today, we are launching "Operation Collar a Blue Dog." On our own, and in concert with other center-right activist groups, we will be putting pressure on the Blue Dog Democrats in Congress to vote no to government-run health care.

There are a few key components to this initiaitive:

1. Holding rallies at the district offices of the Blue Dogs during the August recess. Together with American Liberty Alliance (and others), we will be participating in "recess rallies" to be held August 22nd (more information forthcoming at Recess Rally).

ALA is targeting House blue dogs at these rallies, but we may want to get groups together to rally at Senate offices too.

2. Our ally in the fight against the Democrat plan, Patients United, is taking their case against socialized health care on the road with bus tours through targeted states; more information at Join Patients First Bus Tour. SGP has been offered space on the buses.

3. In addition to attending the August 22nd rallies, we will be encouraging all of our members to take part in "5 minute activism." This involves making phone calls, sending faxes and emails, and generally bombarding targeted Congressional offices with our opinion.

If you can't make it to the rallies on the 22nd, we will be waging a "5 minute activism" campaign to run concurrently to the rallies, the purpose of which is to overload the blue dog offices while rallies take place outside. A lot of information will be going up on the Ning site in the coming days and weeks. We will start a special "Collar a Blue Dog" group for coordinating our activist efforts. Please check out the information and get involved! It is especially important for those in states where blue dogs reside to take the lead.

Hey Joe

Vice President Biden today was defending the stimulus plan. Addressing the critics to the stimulus plan he asked what would they do.

Well, since you asked Joe:

I would not spend millions to replace toilets.

Instead of giving GM money, why didn’t we just send a $20,000 voucher to every American family that makes under $75,000 for an American made car? It would have helped the car industry, the car industry vendors and the American people all at the same time and I am sure it would have been cheaper. If GM couldn’t make the company work after that, they go into bankruptcy. Oh wait, they already did that.

Instead of writing into the bailout legislation for AIG that bonuses would be paid out, I would have given that money instead to the agency that gives loans to small businesses. They are on the brink of insolvency. Where is their bailout Joe? The majority of jobs are created by small business.

I would not spend money funding an eco-passage for turtles in Florida.

My question to you Mr. Vice President is why did say that people who were opposed to the stimulus package wanted to do nothing? Why is it all or nothing with you and President Obama?

Instead of understanding the concerns of the American people to the far-left pork buffet, you ask if we would prefer that broken bridges don’t get fixed or police officers get laid off. Why does the government always take away money from education and the like instead of foregoing the spending on skateboard parks? Or even better Joe, what about the money that is going to a field mouse in Speaker Pelosi’s district? We could have done without that spending.

What I would have done Joe? I would have insisted that every member of Congress understand what they were voting on. I also would suggest that the President understand it as well. I would also think that taking your time to do it correctly was more important than doing it quickly. Hey maybe you can use that logic with the healthcare debate.

I would not be spending money on putting farmer’s markets in lower income areas. Buying fruit and vegetables from a Farmer’s market is very expensive. People in lower income areas cannot afford the prices. I would spend the money instead on helping urban areas attract big chain supermarkets. That will drive the prices down in those neighborhoods which will allow them to afford healthier foods.

Joe, I would also admit that spending money on walking and biking trails, while a laudable goal, will do nothing to stimulate the economy.

But that is just me.

I am writing to you in regards to your post calling American’s speaking up about their views on healthcare as "spam". Dissent and dialogue with our representatives should not be characterized in this manner. It seems that you have fallen into the manner of the left by saying we are anti-reform. This could not be further than the truth.

This seems it is being characterized as an all or nothing thing. If you don’t agree with their plan, you want the status quo. We want real reform. Reform that will lower costs while keeping the ability to maintain private relationships with our doctors and gives choices to all Americans. Top line tax deductions for premiums, tort reform to lower malpractice insurance rates for doctors and hospitals, allowing small businesses to join co-ops to lower costs, allow consumers to purchase policies across state lines. If a New Yorker can purchase insurance less expensively from a company in Arkansas, then they should be allowed to do that. The New York companies will be forced to lower the costs in order to stay competitive. Fixing Medicare needs to be put in the front of the line. Medicare pays below cost for treatment, then that loss is then passed onto the consumer. The government is causing part of the problem.

You and I had an email dialogue a few days ago regarding this topic. You told me that targeting the Chiefs of Staff is unusual tactic. I will give you that it may be unusual, but these are unusual times. Conservatives have allowed themselves to be painted by a broad brush over the past eight years. The far left painted President Bush as one of the most evil men that ever lived. They were loud and persistent with this message. We became discouraged and lost our way.

The speed of which the far left is pushing legislation through that will forever change the fabric of this country has been our wake-up call. We have taken some pages straight out of the left’s handbook. We are protesting, we are speaking out, and we are contacting our representatives. This is not “spam”; it is conservatives and independents standing up for the America that they want to pass onto their children. The media needs to get used to the idea that we will publically stand up and say what needs to be said; President Obama is pushing this country to European-style socialism. We will not go quietly. Unusual tactics are necessary.

Spam tsunami hits Dem chiefs of staff

An anti-health care reform Web site has published the names of moderate Democratic chiefs of staff in the House -- spawning a Spam tsunami inundating inboxes with more than 500 emails since Wednesday, according to aides.

Energized by Nancy Pelosi's claim she had the votes to pass health care reform,blogger "just a conservative girl" penned a "Dear Fellow Patriot" letter to readers asking them if they could "please [be] joining us in emailing the Chiefs of Staff of the following moderate to conservative Democrats?"

She then published the names and emails of 55.

"I've been dealing with these since yesterday... it's clogging my inbox," said one chief of staff, less peeved than amused.

The emails range from ALLCAPS:

PLEASE DO NOT VOTE FOR THIS DISASTROUS "HEALTHCARE REFORM" BILL. PLEASE DO NOT DESTROY THE VERY FABRIC OF THIS COUNTRY.PLEASE DO NOT BE MANIPULATED INTO SELLING ITS CITIZENS OUT FOR A SOCIALIST AGENDA.PLEASE DO NOT FORCE AMERICANS TO BECOME ENSLAVED AND IMPOVERISHEDPLEASE- PLEASE PLEASELISTEN TO THE CITIZENS WHO WORK TO PAY YOUR SALARY. NOT THE ONES WHO REFUSE TO WORK.

To the partisan:

PS - Ask your congressperson to remind the President that the financial problems we have are not just those of the former President. I seem to recall that for the 2 years prior to the current President, we had a democratic majority in both house of congress.

Conservative Girl Adventures

Mr. Rubio spoke with everyone and was very willing to have his picture taken. This is woman who is from Russia and is worried about the direction this country is taking.

We had a great view of the Capitol. It was a humid evening, but it was nice to stand out of the balcony and look over at the Capitol Dome and the park.

I was very impressed with Marco Rubio. We need this man in the senate. I hope that Floridians realize what a good man this is.

An Apology Made. A Lesson Learned? Maybe not

Claire McCaskill apologizes for her staffers calling the police on tea party protesters on July 17th.


“I still regret the way we handled the protest, and hope that all those that want to express themselves feel free to protest peacefully at our office anytime. We will make every effort to meet with your representatives and hear your concerns. While we did talk to 7 folks on Friday, I wish we could have greeted everyone at the beginning and brought part of the group in for a meeting right away. I think we learned from Friday and will do better in the future. In return I hope those that are protesting refrain from banging on the windows and doors continuously. Thanks so much.”


Hey Claire, if your staff didn't lock the doors, draw the blinds, and refuse to talk to them they wouldn't have been knocking on the doors!! There is a little something in this country called the Constitution, we have the right to protest. It is not so much to ask that our representatives actually listen to our concerns, we do pay your staff's salary. Hey, we pay yours too!!
