Sunrise Service at the Lincoln Memorial
For more than 3 decades Pastor Amos Dodge has been performing a sunrise service at the Lincoln Memorial, regardless of weather. Luckily this year it was a beautiful morning, unlike the past two years that were below freezing. If you are ever in DC over Easter this is a must do. The music is wonderful, the pastor is a moving speaker, and even he describes it as a politically incorrect service. There are no equivocations about his beliefs. So I try and make this every year. The service was beautiful, especially singing Christ the Lord is Risen Today as the sun was coming up over the Capitol Building. It was a much larger crowd today than last year, that may have something to do with the fact that is was 30 degrees warmer.
