Washington Can Learn a lot from a Drug Addict

It is sad that the truth has come down to this.  But, it has.  Washington is addicted to spending money and we are the ones suffering from it.

I am Paying for Grief Counseling Now?

All congressional members and staff that lost their jobs last Tuesday have been given information on grief counseling.  While I understand that losing your job is a difficult thing, this seems a little over the top.

Apparently a team of five went to all the offices today to drop off paperwork and have conversations about resume writing, payroll information, and benefits information.  The packet of paperwork also contained the different stages of grief, the first one being anger.  (Although, I was always under the impression the first stage of grief is denial, but that is neither here nor there).

OK, the legislators make $174K per year, they can't pay someone to help them with resume writing?  Most of the lower level staffers will be able to apply for jobs in the newbie offices.

It just blows the mind what our government spends money on.
