Quote of the Day

"Therefore, if the NAACP's preoccupation with white racism reflects the thinking of most or even many blacks, it means that there is nothing white America can do to undo the ongoing perception of endemic racism in this country -- a perception that is now considerably more destructive to blacks than to American society as a whole."

JACG, I first became aware of anti-white racism during the OJ trial. The polls of blacks versus whites were polar opposites. How could we be watching the same trial with the same evidence? It made me queasy then and still sickened now.

Believe it or not, I actually understood the OJ verdict. Not for the same reasons though. To me it was obvious that two of the cops lied on the stand. The one (don't remember his name) who said he didn't think that OJ was a suspect even though he was the same cop that went to her house when he beat her up wasn't believable. If he lied about that, what else could he lie about. But that is irrelevant to your point, and I agree with what you are saying. I was still living in CT at the time when that happened. Where I worked, I was like the only white person there, so I heard a great deal of the "other" side. It wasn't that they didn't hear the evidence, they just ignored it because they didn't trust the police nor the media. At least that was my experience of the OJ saga.
