Another Bites the Dust - Mollohan Loses in the WV 1st
Alan Mollohan, long time democratic congressman, is gone baby gone. He lost in his primary bid for re-election to Mike Oliverio. Oh, and what great guy he has been.
Let's see, it starts out with him being the "successor" to his father's seat. He has been serving in Congress since 1982.
He has run unopposed 7 times.
He is ranked the most 24th richest in congress, and he was not all that wealthy when he started out.
The justice department has investigated him, he has a 500 page ethics compliant filed against him, the fbi has looked into his disclosure forms, in 2009 CREW has him as one of the most 15 corrupt politicians serving in Washington. Several newspapers have investigated his real estate holdings, at one time he was the head of the ethics committee; but Nanny Pelosi asked him to step down.
Hmm, could it be because he seems to have so many ethical issues himself?
This man seems to be yet another corrupt and entrenched politician who has increased his own wealth while he is spending our money like a druken sailor.
Good riddens, Congressman Mollohan - it couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.

..madame,
As you said over on M.A.'s site, the writing is on the wall. And indeed it is -- except they choose not to read it nor heed the increasing intensity of the drum beat of dissatisfaction over those in our government who don't listen to their constituents.
As one long in the tooth, I remember the anger that preceded Jimmy Carters abrupt dismissal by the electoratea in 1980. We had had it up to here (makes gesture with hand at his nose)..
..but, strangely enough, that did not begin to build until a little more than a year and a half before the election -- at approximately the time the Iranian hostage crisis eventuated and we saw how ineffectual our foreign policy and military under that bumbling idiot had become.
Let me tell you, if I am reading the tea leaves right, the seething rage that is building now is easily double or triple what it was then. We have six months to go and then two years.
I do not know about you, young lady, but I plan to do everything ion my meager power to thwart this imbecile's presidency.
Please spare no effort and encourage your friends to do so as well.
Thank you for that. I am not really old enough to remember the Carter Presidency. Reagan is first real memory of the Presidency. So, I will take your word on what happened in that election cycle.
I do disagree that they are not seeing it, I think that they do. I have a hunch we will hear about a few more retirements by the end of June. I also think that Spector will lose next week.
