It will be very interesting to see what type of response Ann Coulter will be getting at 11:50 A.M. next Friday.  That is when she is scheduled to speak at CPAC.  Oh look, that is lunchtime.  I guess I will be missing it. 

My Former Congressman - I am So Proud

Praise God, I no longer live in this man's district. But sadly, I still feel the effects. Jim Moron Moran is an embarrassment to Northern Virginia to the point that most die hard democrats I know can't stand him. But they would rather cut off a body part than to vote for republican and this tool gets to stay in congress as long as he wants.

Gee, one must wonder what the uproar would be if a republican used the exact same words to talk about say Congressman Ellison, who is also black.

Mitt Romney has decisive win in Florida

Mitt won by a large margin tonight in the Florida primary. According to exit polls done by CNN, he won virtually every demographic with the exception of "very conservative" and "strong tea party support". No surprises there, I also don't believe he is even attempting to grab those demographics, at least not in a serious way. It is no secret, I don't like Mitt Romney. I don't believe that he has true core convictions. Even if he had true moderate Republican stances that he admitted to I could respect him more. But, I do think he loves this country for it's rich heritage and has no desire for us to become another quasi-socialist nation like other European nations. Does he believe in big government solutions to problems? No doubt in my mind he will not shrink the size and scope of the federal government, but he will not be driving at warp speed to change how our economy works. I still won't vote for him, but I will give him that. I did think this was a good speech. I especially appreciated that he stuck his comments to what he would do and how to beat Obama.

Herman Cain Endorses Newt for President

This really shouldn't come as a surprise.  Newt and Herman have know each other for many years.  Newt is a big ideas kind of guy, and so is Herman. 

Newt has promised to keep Cain's 9-9-9 plan in the national conversation if he becomes president.  I am not sure how much this will help Newt.  The wild swing in Florida continues.  He and Romney have been trading the front runner status for more than a week now.  The latest poll has Newt back on top by less than 1/2 of 1 point.

Apology's in Advance - Hacking Issue

Maggie over at Maggie's Notebook made me aware of some hacking issues that I am experiencing as of late.  She has gotten some rather lengthy and not very nice comments using my blog's name.  I didn't write them.

So, if anyone else is getting these from "Just A Conservative Girl" I apologize in advance.  There are not from me.  They are using the email address justaconservativegirl@yahoo.com as the email address.  That is not my email, nor do I use the one that is listed on the side of the blog as a contact when I comment.  So if either of those email addresses are coming up with comments, they are from someone else.

I had gotten an email with a long letter attached about Newt and Muslims and some other disjointed messages asking me to have the courage to print it.  I wrote back to the person that if they want their opinion out there, they should write their own blog.  This person may be the culprit.

So again, I apologize if there are any nasty comments out there.  I assume the person will get bored and move on at some point or find another target to get out their obvious anger.

This is the conclusion that I have come to as well.  Obama would like America to become like quasi-socialist Europe.  I say hell no, I won't go.  If that is what I wanted, I would move there.

New Federal Golf Rules by the Newly Minted Golf Czar

These new golf rules will be in effect beginning January 1, 2012.

President BHO has recently appointed a Golf Czar and major rule changes in the game of golf will become effective in December 2011. This is only a preview as the complete rule book (expect 2000 pages) is being rewritten as we speak. Here are a few of the changes.


Golfers with handicaps:
- below 10 will have their green fees increased by 35%.
- between 11 and 18 will see no increase in green fees.
- above 18 will get a $20 check each time they play.

The term "gimmie" will be changed to "entitlement" and will be used as follows:
- handicaps below 10, no entitlements.
- handicaps from 11 to 18, entitlements for putter length putts.
- handicaps above 18, if your ball is on green, no need to putt, just pick it up.

These entitlements are intended to bring about fairness and, most importantly, equality in scoring. In addition, a Player will be limited to a maximum of one birdie or six pars in any given 18-hole round. Any excess must be given to those fellow players who have not yet scored a birdie or par. Only after all players have received a birdie or par from the player actually making the birdie or par, can that player begin to count his pars and birdies again. The current USGA handicap system will be used for the above purposes, but the term "net score" will be available only for scoring those players with handicaps of 18 and above.

This is intended to "re-distribute" the success of winning by making sure that in every competition, the above 18 handicap players will post only "net score" against every other player's "gross score". These new Rules are intended to CHANGE the game of golf.

Golf must be about Fairness. It should have nothing to do with ability, hard work, practice, and responsibility. This is the "Right thing to do."

President Obama on the government's role on anniversary of Roe v. Wade that legalized abortion across the country.

Hmm, he seems perfectly fine with the government interfering with people's deeply felt beliefs about forcing people to pay for birth control against their wishes.  He seems perfectly fine with making people who want no children to pay for fertility treatments with their insurance costs.  He seems perfectly fine with the government telling religious organizations that they have to pay for things that go against their beliefs. Those beliefs are a private family matter are they not?

Hypocrite.

Steven Tyler and the National Anthem

This is making its way around the net.  He certainly didn't do a great job, but it was still better than others have done in the past.  He botched one sentence.

This is a very difficult song to sing, it seems to me that they may want to start having people pre-record it and lipsynch for really big occasions.

For some reason this video says NFC game, but he sang at the AFC game in Boston.

Gabby Giffords Stepping Down from Congress

Congresswoman Giffords announced today that she will be resigning her congressional seat this week.  It has been more than year since she was shot in the head and suffered traumatic brain injuries from the bullet.  She has made a remarkable recovery so far, and every American wishes her Godspeed in her recovery.

She is correct, her district should have their voices heard in congress, this is the right thing to do for everyone concerned.

Newt Talks Victory in South Carolina

His win was decisive.  His win was a smack down to the media who kept saying that Romney was inevitable.  While I still think that the nomination is most likely going to go to Romney, at least he will be forced to work for it.

I have issues with Newt, some pretty serious ones.  I don't like the fact that he cheated on two wives.  It is a question of his character as well as his judgement.  But, two of the people he hurt the most are his daughters, and they have forgiven him and moved on.  But Newt does something that all conservatives wish Dubbya had done more of, stand up to the biases in the media.

Another big surprise for me was Ron Paul coming in last, he has a massive machine and with this being an open primary, Paul's crossover voters could have come out in force.



Onto to Florida

Newt for President?

It has been many decades since the winner of South Carolina didn't go on to win the nomination.  So will it be Newt edging out Romney in the end?  Only time will tell.  


At least it is interesting.

Newt's headquarters is based here in Virginia.  


The final vote tally is not in yet, but as it stands right now, Newt is up by double digits.  The real fight seems to be for third between Ron Paul and Rick Santorum.
