Occupy Wall Street Quote of the Day Edition Part 6

“We need to limit the amount of food we’re putting out to curb the influx of derelicts,”
A Kitchen Volunteer at Occupy Wall Street in New York.

I thought they were trying to help the "little" guy.

Truly disgusting.

Can you say hypocrisy?  They say they want a world that is fair, and gives to the needy.  But they only want to take yours, they have no desire to share their own.

But we don't need to curb the amount of freebies for illegal aliens.

That would be "heartless."

Hypocrisy is one way to look at it....the pessimistic way. I am choosing to see this in the optimistic way, however. These people have little experience with how life actually works. Manning an occupation is one of the first practical experiences a lot of these folks have actually had. Many of them are still students, or are recently done with school, and all they really know of the world is ivy tower stuff. Now that they are in the trenches, trying to make something in this world actually function, they are learning a lot. Occupy Wall Street may just end up changing quite a few minds.....as those who feel dedicated to their ideals see that the practical world is not going to give effect to their dreams.

Spreading the wealth around doesn't apply to them. It would be nice if the "occupiers" learned something from this (as Purple Crayon said). It sure is ironic how they find themselves in the position of being the "haves" resenting the fact that they are giving to the "have nots". Priceless.

Why don't they open up a soup kitchen for the poor and do something useful with themselves. And maybe a job retraining center. Even better. They could train themselves then go out and get a real job.
