That is sick. It blows my mind that anyone thinks this would be a good idea.

I hope that you write your senators and your rep. That will be the only way we can stop this.

I'm Canadian and I have never had to wait in an emergency room longer than a couple hours. Usually I get in within the hour. And if it is really urgent they get you in immediately as it was when my husband got the tiniest bit of battery acid in his eye.
As for psychiatric care, I work in mental health and clients get in immediately for care. Especially if they are acute. That being said if anyone for any reason has any kind of acute health care issue they get in asap.
I don't know about the other "stats" but unless you live here and know these things to be true from talking with your neighbour I don't think you should be freaking out about Obama's plan to improve your health care system. Countries in Europe and Asia have even better health care systems than we do. The US lags behind the rest of the world. The only people I'm aware of who are not happy with Obama's plan have lots of money or fantastic jobs and don't really ever have to worry too much. But what about the rest? What about the poor and the middle class and the single parents?

Right on Melodie!!! Just a conservative girl is clearly just a misinformed girl. Can she support any of her claims with facts? I think not. Don't fear what you don't understand...educate yourself.
