The Food Police Are Coming
It seems that President and Mrs. Obama had a private chef even before coming president. His name is Sam Kass. He is young man who after Obama took office relocated to Washington to become one of the chefs for the President.
He has recently been promoted to Senior Policy Advisor for Healthy Food Initiatives. I am not 100% certain what it means, except for the fact that we becoming more and more of a nanny state everyday. I am person who believes that eating healthy is important. I had very bad eating habits as a child and it took me a long time to get myself to eat better. Which I did over time.
There is no soda in my house. I rarely drink anything that is carbonated. I love veggies that you get from your own garden. Fresh zucchini is one of my all time favorite things to eat. I have many recipes, including one for muffins. These muffins are a sneaky way to get kids to eat vegetables. They don't realize that they are eating something that is healthy and you are giving them a taste for it. Which will make it easier to get them to eat it with dinner, put fresh veggies in ground turkey and grill a burger.
At my house, fast food is the Whole Foods salad bar. I try to live by a 80/20 rule. I can eat junk on occasion because I overwhelmingly eat good foods. For example, tonight I went to Baskin Robbins and had a three scoop hot fudge sundae. I don't feel bad about because I had skinless chicken breast and corn for dinner. This is how I choose to live my life. I don't do this because anyone else has told me to.
I am not a big believer in using a television and video games as a babysitter. When I was young we stayed outside playing until it got dark. We even went out in the snow and the cold. Over the summers we went swimming everyday. I grew up on the water and Jet Skiing and water skiing was just part of the routine. We played hide and seek and had these huge neighborhood games of Kick the Can. Again, I realize that the world is different, you don't let your kids run around outside in the same way that I did as a child. But, parents can take their kids to the local playground, the local school yard or whatever else they may have in their area. One of the reasons that kids are so fat these days is because they don't play baseball anymore, they are sitting in the house using their X Boxes instead. If you can afford to pay for these video games you can afford the Wii that will have some games that will at least give their child some sort of exercise.
I am sick and tired of the federal government trying to tell me what to do. If people don't realize that eating at McDonald's on a regular basis is bad for you, then we have bigger problems than the government can solve. They are either willfully blind, or just plain stupid. Neither of these things can be cured by the federal government.
Even if you don't have the room for a garden, like I do, you can still buy vegetables. They sell them in the can in almost every store across America. They are not as healthy for you when they come out of a can, but it sure as heck better than eating chips. Even if you are on a tight budget, you can eat things like beans and rice. This not only contains healthy things for you, it is also very filling. It can go a long way when you don't have much money.
Many people are obese because of genetics and/or medical problems. Some people are obese simply because they are to lazy to eat well. They don't want to cook, they would rather go through the Burger King drive through because it is easier. The federal government can not and should not do anything about that. Anytime you buy something in the grocery store it has the nutriental information listed. If people choose to ignore this, there is nothing the federal government can do. Although, they want to try. Nanny Pelosi and her ilk have decided that putting the info on the front of the package is going to make all the difference in the world. Somehow if they don't have to turn the box around they won't buy it. It is further proof that Obama truly believes that I am too stupid to make good choices for myself and I am in desparate need to have him make those choices for me. Well, I say no thank you. I know all one my own if I eat at McDonald's I am eating something that is unhealthy, I know for myself that you need to get up and do something in order to stay in shape, I know for myself that if you don't buy chips and soda you severally limit the amount of junk that your kids are eating. I know for myself that if you give them healthy snacks they start asking for them. I know for myself if you give them juice and water instead of soda they won't ask for it over time. I know for myself that you can give them apples and dried fruit as snacks instead of chips and ice cream.

Our Safe Schools Czar - Kevin Jennings Graphic Content & Contact Information
The story about Kevin Jennings keeps getting more and more disturbing. If the reading list wasn't bad enough, now the story of his seminar at Tufts University comes to light. This conference was for 14 - 21 year olds. Not only did public school teachers attend this conference, they also gave rides to students.
At the offset I want to say that I don't care that Kevin Jennings is gay. What he does is not my business. Consenting adults are free to do whatever they choose to do; as long as the person is not married to me, it is none of my concern. I do not fall into the camp that homosexuality is a choice. Frankly, I find the notion of being with another woman sexually gross. I am not putting anyone down; it is just not for me. I don't think that a person can change being gay anymore than someone can change being heterosexual. With that being said, I don't want this man anywhere near children.
I have a few friends who are gay. Every one of them has told me that they knew something was different about them at a fairly young age. They couldn't quite put a finger on it, but they always felt a little different and didn't quite fit in. Some of these guys even dated girls when in high school. At some point they figured out what that difference was and "came out of the closet". I used to work with a man who grew up in a family of conservative Christians and then joined the military. Neither one of those environments are very accepting of homosexuality. He and his partner have been able to have a relationship with his family, so I guess it has all worked out. He understands that they disapprove of his love life, yet they still love him.
It must be difficult on a child that realizes that they are indeed attracted to people of the same sex. Kids tend to be very cruel. Gay teenagers must have a difficult time. I remember one guy growing up who everyone just assumed he was gay, so when he came out about it, it was neither shock nor a big deal. I will age myself here and say that was the time of Boy George and George Michael. So being gay was out in the open, but not nearly as it is now.
Fourteen is an age that you are hormonal, trying to figure where you fit into the world, and you don't yet realize that being yourself is much more important than being what the "popular" kids think you should be. You are stretching your wings and searching for independence. That is one of the purposes of the teenage years. I do think that kids who find themselves in this situation need compassion and more importantly need to be told that they are worthwhile human beings. Suicide rates are much higher among gay teenagers and that is something that needs to be addressed and dealt with.
The conference that GLSEN held was not about that. Breakout sessions included topics such as "Spit or Swallow, is it rude?” This topic is nothing about acceptance, it is about is teaching young kids about sex. I wouldn't like this topic if it were geared towards heterosexual children either. A demonstration of fisting was given. Fisting is a procedure of one putting the entire fist in the rectum of their sexual partner. Yuck. I don't quite understand how that is a turn on, but whatever. The kits included explicit instructions, gloves, and K Y Jelly. These kits were distributed by, of all organizations Planned Parenthood, as they did have logos on them. The K Y Jelly proves that any sense that this kit was for safe oral sex purposes is simply not true. K Y Jelly is not necessary for oral sex, as far as I know, you can do perform oral sex without the use of K-Y. GLSEN uses tax payer funds to hold these conferences. My money is being used to teach young kids dangerous sexual techniques. I would think putting your entire fist in someone's rectum could do a great deal of harm if not done correctly, if there is a correct way to do this.
I realize that times have changed since I was 14, but these types of things were nowhere near my mind at that age. I was not ready for that type of information. To be honest, I am not sure that I am ready for this information now. I am not a prude, but this is more information than I needed to know.
Kevin Jennings can be called many things, but safe is not among them. This man needs to resign, and do it now. I also would like an explanation from the White House. I would like to see President and Mrs. Obama to sit in a room along with Kevin Jennings and their two daughters and read such books as "Revolutionary Voices" and "Reflections of a Rock Lobster". His daughters are not 14 yet, but shouldn't they have demonstrations of fisting? If it is ok for our children to see this fifth, why shouldn't his?
Gateway Pundit has excerpts from the above books as well as some others. Read them if you dare.
If you want to give Mr. Jennings a call his number is: 202-245-7830. Let him know that he needs to resign and stay away from our kids.

Van Jones and His Interesting Connections

September 5, 2009
NewsWithViews.com
The Obama Administration refuses to say how communist Van Jones was hired as the “Green Jobs Czar” and who recommended him. The administration refuses to say who knew what about his communist background. The White House Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ), where Jones is employed, told me, in response to a series of Freedom of Information Act requests, that it had no documents about his hiring or communist background. But some possible explanations for the mysterious appointment are now coming into focus.
On the Thursday edition of his Fox News Channel television program, Glenn Beck noted that Valerie Jarrett, Senior Advisor and Assistant to the President for Intergovernmental Affairs and Public Engagement, seemed to claim credit for the appointment during an appearance at a left-wing bloggers conference last month. Beck made the disclosure while noting evidence that Jones was a member of the 9/11 truth movement, which blames the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks on U.S. Government officials. A video had previously surfaced of Jones calling Republicans “assholes.”
While Fox News correspondent James Rosen provided a report on the controversy on “Special Report with Bret Baier” on Thursday night, only Accuracy in Media has noted the embarrassing fact that the parent company of Fox News published Jones’ book, The Green Collar Economy, last year. The book was hailed by Harper Collins, a subsidiary of News Corporation, as “provocative, personal, and inspirational.”
Harper Collins described Jones as “a man who counsels President Barack Obama on environmental policy” but its official biography of the author, like the one distributed by the White House, said nothing about his communist background. The release of the book, which was largely the work of a professional writer and editor by the name of Ariane Conrad, was clearly a significant factor in propelling Jones to national prominence and getting him his White House job.
But the Valerie Jarrett comments highlighted by Beck may be important in understanding the process by which Jones actually got his job. Jarrett is well-connected in Chicago circles.
Blogger Trevor Loudon, who broke the story of Jones’ Marxism, reports that Valerie Jarrett’s late father-in-law, Vernon Jarrett, was an associate of Communist Party USA member Frank Marshall Davis and that they worked together in Chicago. Davis, the subject of a 600-page FBI file, is the mysterious “Frank” from Obama’s book, Dreams from My Father, and served as a mentor to a young Barack Obama in Hawaii.
But other evidence supports the idea that Rep. Barbara Lee, one of the most extreme members of Congress and an apologist for Fidel Castro, played a key role in the Jones appointment. Lee, perhaps best known for casting the lone vote in the House against U.S. military action to remove the Taliban regime in Afghanistan after the 9/11 attacks, is a close friend of both Jones and President Obama.
But behind Lee and Jones is an influential network of communists known as the Committees of Correspondence for Democracy and Socialism (CCDS). Lee was a secret member of the group, a spin-off of the Communist Party USA, while Jones was the keynote speaker at a 2006 CCDS fundraiser.
Blogger Trevor Loudon reports that the title of the CCDS fundraiser featuring Jones was “Towards Building a Progressive Majority.” He notes that many members of the Jones communist group STORM (Standing Together To Organize a Revolutionary Movement) worked closely with the CCDS.
According to a history of STORM, several members of the group traveled to Cuba in 1999 as part of the notorious Venceremos Brigade. “As STORM seldom exceeded 20 members, it is very likely that Van Jones, as a leader of the organization, was on that, or another, Cuba trip,” Loudon writes.
It is significant that Lee issued the following statement after Jones’ appointment was announced:
“I am so very pleased that Van Jones, a constituent, friend and strong advocate for green jobs has been chosen to be a special advisor to the White House Council on Economic Quality.
“Van has been at the forefront of the green jobs movement and has shown us all the way to utilize green collar jobs as a pathway out of poverty. Were it not for Van, we would not have been able to establish the Green Job Corps in Oakland which provides local Oakland residents with job training, support, and work experience so that they can independently pursue careers in the new energy economy.”
“His expertise and vision in the area of green jobs will be a wonderful addition to the White House CEQ.”
An article on the website of the Life Science Foundation discloses that “Working with his colleagues and California Congress woman Barbara Lee, [Van] Jones was able to get the City of Oakland to adopt the Ella Baker Center’s Green Jobs Corps.”
This makes perfect sense, of course. Jones worked in Oakland, founded the Ella Baker Center in Oakland, and Lee represents Oakland. On November 11, 2008, after Obama’s election, Jones and Lee appeared together at an event in Oakland, along with actor Danny Glover. Stephen Mufson of the Washington Post attended the event and wrote a puff-piece about it.
“We want the federal government to buy into what is taking place here in Oakland,” Lee was quoted by one columnist as saying. “Once the federal government buys in, I believe our nation can see what can be done. We must go green.” These sounds like the words of someone who wanted to see Jones implement on the national level what he had done, with Lee’s support, in Oakland.
Nicole Y. Williams, communications director for Rep. Lee, did not return a telephone call seeking comment on Lee’s possible role in arranging the Jones appointment.
However, in her book, Renegade for Peace & Justice, Lee reveals that she served as an Obama presidential campaign adviser because “I liked his message of fundamental change, which was as close to a revolutionary message as we have had in decades.” Through her position as Obama’s Western Regional co-chair during the campaign, “I participated in rallies, phone banking, and behind-the-scenes advising on issues and politics.”
In her book, she declares her support for Communist Cuba, saying, “On many occasions I have taken people to Cuba to educate them about the realities of Cuban society so that they can make judgments for themselves whether the negative propaganda about Cuba that we consume in the United States is justified.” She attacks the Bush Administration for deposing Jean Bertrand Aristide, the Marxist proponent of “Liberation Theology” who once ruled Haiti.
Lee freely admits involvement in the “progressive” Black Panther Party, a group that regularly denounced police officers as “pigs,” and names one of the other members of the group as Angela Davis, “the noted African American member of the Communist Party.” Lee quotes a Panther official as denying that the Panther program was based on the Communist Manifesto but admits that she was called “Comrade Barbara.”
The CCDS connection is something that Lee and Van Jones have in common.
Herbert Romerstein, a former professional staff member of the House Intelligence Committee, explains, “In 1992, while a member of the California State Assembly, Barbara Lee was elected to the National Coordinating Committee of the Committees of Correspondence. Most, but not all, of the members of this group had been active in the Communist Party USA.” However, exposure of Lee’s role in the controversial pro-communist group led one of the members to propose a “non-public” status for those wishing to be active behind-the-scenes.
While Lee was apparently embarrassed by the public exposure of her involvement with the Communist Party spin-off group, Jones spoke to the CCDS openly in 2006, prompting blogger Trevor Loudon to comment, “Maybe Jones didn’t realize he was addressing a Marxist-Leninist function? Maybe he thought it was a Rotary or PTA group?”
After getting to the bottom of how Jones got his White House job, Glenn Beck should turn his attention to how Jones got his book published by Harper Collins, a subsidiary of the same company, News Corporation, which owns the Fox News Channel and employs Beck.
Harper Collins also published the book, Underground: My Life With SDS and the Weathermen, by former communist terrorist Mark Rudd, who said he was paid $50,000 as an advance.
As we noted in our previous column, the Van Jones book includes endorsements from Thomas L. Friedman of the New York Times, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, TV host Tavis Smiley, former Senator Tom Daschle, Arianna Huffington, and Larry Brilliant of Google.
Huffington’s far-left website, the Huffington Post, has been defending the Van Jones appointment and attacking Glenn Beck for exposing his communist background.

Dear Mr. President
I am writing to you to let you know of the growing frustration that I am feeling in regards to your presidency. You were swept into office on the promise of change. You have given us change alright, but I don’t think this is the type of change that people were envisioning. You were touted as being above race, you believed in reaching out to all members of our society.
Since taking office your rhetoric and actions have just made the already shaky race relations in this country worse. Your knee-jerk reaction in regard to a white police officer in Cambridge showed a great deal about your thought processes. It never occurred to you that your friend could have over-reacted to a police officer doing his job by answering a call regarding an alleged break-in. People in this country gave you the benefit of the doubt about your pastor and the church you sat in for more than twenty years. All one had to do was read your book to know that you knew exactly what type of rhetoric Reverend Wright was preaching. It was there for all to see. Is Van Jones just part two of your lies of not knowing?
Now we are being told about your advisor on green jobs, Van Jones. This is a man who has publicly stated that anyone that dares to be a republican is an asshole. A man who has described himself as communist, who has signed a petition saying that former President Bush has a level of responsibility for the worst terrorist attack on American soil that caused the death of three thousand innocent people. A man who was involved with Standing Together to Organize a Revolutionary Movement, a Marxist and revolutionary organization, not an organization that seems to have my best interests as an American at heart.
Mr. President you promised the American people that you would have the most transparent administration in history, you promised me that you were going to change how the government worked. Your wife told people during the campaign that you just get it. Well, Mr. President, I don’t get it. I don’t get why you would put a man with this past in charge of 30 billion tax dollars of hard-working Americans. How is it that you expect me to believe that this man can be trusted? This is a man who very recently has stated that white environmentalists are trying to poison urban black people. I don’t get how this man got through the extensive vetting process that you promised me. All one has to do is to Google his name and lots of disturbing information is at your finger tips. Did no one in your administration check out his past? Or Mr. President, is it that you don’t care? Is it, Mr. President that your agenda for “fundamental” change is really your belief that Van Jones’ view of the world is correct? That me, as a white person, is trying to poison blacks? Is it that since I identify my political views leaning more toward republican than democrat that I am an asshole? Is this the change that the American people voted for? Is this, Mr. President, your view of being above racial politics? I certainly hope not. Although I don’t agree with your particular brand of politics, I want to believe that you have the best interest of this country in your heart. But your choices and your actions are making that harder and harder for me to do.

Mind Control?
The fourth bill approved by the Subcommittee, H.R. 3247, would establish a social and behavioral sciences research program at the DOE to identify and understand factors that influence both energy consumption, and acceptance and adoption of new technologies. The research could then be used to improve the design, development, demonstration and application of energy technologies.
“Technology development and investment are only part of the solution to our energy problem,” said Baird, the bill’s author. “The decisions each of us make every day have a significant impact on energy production and consumption. It is important that we understand why some technologies are more readily embraced than others. And it is important that we know how to communicate effectively about the nature of our energy challenges and know how to empower individual citizens to participate in overcoming them.”
There was an article in Time Magazine in April regarding how the Obama administration not only embraces behavioral psychology, he has put people in his administration that have very intensive backgrounds in it. Sadly, this article was written very matter-of-fact and the author was not at all disturbed by it. I have a degree in marketing, so I understand the concepts and accept that they are a valuable tool to sell things. My question is should our government be employing these tactics?
This will create yet another czar. At least this one will be done by congressional oversight, but I think this may be creating precedent that we can do without.

Czars are Everywhere
Our new President has adopted the idea of having Czars to deal with special issues of importance. He has named about three dozen Czars dealing to address significant matters like global warming and executive compensation. Their appointments have become very controversial, as there have been complaints about them circumventing the congressional approval and oversight processes.
I say damn these naysayers. I have come to embrace this idea despite the fact of being Jewish and having an aversion to Czars, due to a history of pogroms against my ancestors. And I just feel that we need a few more to round out Obama’s efforts.
Yard Sale Czar – Since the government has put out a handbook to guide us about how to be in compliance with product safety laws when having a yard sale, it would be most important to appoint a Czar to assure proper enforcement of these rules. Along with that, the Czar should consider standards for signs advertising the sales. I see some pretty dreadful ones. Also, used underwear and socks should be restricted from sales as this is a definite product safety issue.
Apology Czar – To many of us watching news reports of his most recent trips abroad, President Obama seemed to be on an “apology tour” for perceived misbehaviors of America in the past. I think he has just begun to scratch the surface on this and needs to appoint a Czar to root out all past inappropriate behavior of the American government and people. I can think of many he has not yet touched on. For example, he needs to apologize to Spain for the Spanish-American War, to Mexico for accepting Texas into the Union, to France for underpaying for the Louisiana Purchase and to the rest of the world for our basketball team’s performance at the 2004 Olympics. I am sure there is enough work here to carry through at least four years of his presidency. Just the 70’s with Afros, bell-bottom pants and tie-dyed clothing could cover a couple of years’ work.
Twinkie Czar – Dan White blamed this iconic food as the reason why he murdered Harvey Milk and George Moscone. Since that time, Twinkies have never recovered and our country has never been the same. This Czar could help to reestablish the importance of this unjustifiably maligned source of unique nutritional value. As part of the Czar’s role Hostess Cupcakes, Ding-Dongs and Snowballs can be brought back to their former glory as well. Given enough time, ice cream specialties such as Push-Ups could also be saved.
BCS Czar – You may have noticed that despite rising unemployment, two wars and a battle over health care, our Congress has taken up the mantle of the BCS rating system for college football and establishment of a national playoff system. While President Obama has spoken out on this issue, he still needs to appoint a Czar to bring this sad chapter in the history of the Republic to a compassionate ending. Nothing stresses the average American more than not knowing whether their alma mater will have a fair shot at bringing home the national championship trophy.
Saved Jobs Czar – Since President Obama has introduced this new concept of saved jobs, most Americans have been left in the cosmic dust. As the country loses jobs at a clip of about 450,000 per month, it is clear he has not done a good job of communicating about these “saved” jobs. A new Czar to specialize in this area would work wonders in helping Americans understand this new concept. Photo ops with plumbers, office workers and engineers who have had their jobs saved by the Anointed One would help our collective psyche. I suggest he not appoint that drab economist who he keeps rolling out for congressional hearings. He would only remind us all of the jobs lost.
And, finally:
Latke Czar – This may not affect the average American, but to Jewish Americans this is of utmost importance. Since the President has done everything possible to antagonize Jews over Israel, I thought he might go for this one. For those of you who do not know, latkes are a potato pancake-like delicacy that is an intricate part of the Hanukkah celebration. Unfortunately, there are some pretty bad latkes out there. Since we wait all year to savor these delectable items, being faced with bad latkes during Hanukkah can ruin the entire holiday season and carry over into the New Year. While attending our first White House Hanukkah Party, my wife thought at first glance their latkes to be puffy crab cakes which demonstrates that even the accomplished White House chefs can mutilate this food. If President Obama appoints a Czar now, he can save many Jews a lot of anguish during the upcoming holiday season and possibly lock up the Jewish vote for generations.
I am confident that each of you can pinpoint other Czars that could help solve the festering problems of our nation. We need to advise our President on these so he can incorporate them into his administration. And the bonus here is that if he appoints enough Czars he can solve at least one important problem – unemployment.

Dancing with the Czars
Here is the very long list of Czars. No one is sure if this is all of them. None of these people have been approved by the Senate. We do not know if they have been investigated by the FBI. Some of these people may be hearding classified information, how did they get security clearances so quickly? Did the President just give them clearance? This is unconstitutional. This is increasing the power of the presidency in a way that the framers never intended. There is no oversight. They answer directly to the President. Where are the budgets for these people coming from? We need to ask our senators to investigate this and demand that checks and balances of our government are properly administered.
