Cindy Sheehan has decided to run for governor of California. She has a little song for you. Oh my. She wants to close the prisons. Yes, she said that. She wants all college education to be free. She is planning on getting rid of nukes.
Were you aware that California had them? News to me.
The woman is certifiable. Sadly, in a state like California you never know. If she becomes governor I think the reasons to cede the land back to Mexico are strengthened.

Here's a Nursing Home I Don't Want to be a Resident Of
Glenwood Gardens in Bakersfield, CA has a "policy" of not allowing their staff of not performing CPR. That is not a typo. 87-year-old Lorraine Bayless was allowed to die while waiting for medics to arrive. 9-1-1 was on the phone with a nurse after the woman collapsed:
In the seven-minute, 16-second recording, the nurse told the dispatcher it was against the facility's policy for employees to perform CPR on residents.
With every passing second, Bayless' chances of survival were diminishing. The dispatcher's tone turned desperate.
"Anybody there can do CPR. Give them the phone please. I understand if your facility is not willing to do that. Give the phone to that passerby," the dispatcher said. "This woman is not breathing enough. She is going to die if we don't get this started."
I am not going to take the tack that this has something to do with Obamacare, as it clearly does not. But it does go to the fact that as a society we are getting closer and closer to saying that the elderly, the sick, and the disabled are disposable.
This is part and parcel of the violence we see in this country. Human life is no longer considered valuable.

And They Say Conservatives are Anti-Science
I have heard many times that conservatives are anti-science. This is an accusation thrown around mainly in the concept of global warming or climate change, whatever it is being called today. We are told that the science is "settled". Well, that really isn't true. There are scientists who say that it isn't man-made. So I would say that it isn't settled. I don't automatically dismiss the idea of it, but I think that before we spend boatloads of money we should be sure.
I have also been told that homosexuality is a genetic thing. Sorry, but there is no proof that it is. It may very well be, but at this point there is no "gay" gene. From what I have read, the scientific community seems to believe that there are a variety of factors that goes into homosexuality.
When all of the work being done to understand causes is put together, the question about what causes homosexuality seems best answered as follows.
First, science does not have a firm answer that everyone in the field of science let alone everyone else can agree on. The origins of homosexuality are still not clearly understood by scientists.
Most researchers agree that homosexuality is multi-causal and complex; many factors contribute to the development of same-sex attraction. Most researchers, including Dr. Dean Hamer, the "gay gene” researcher who is himself a gay man, agree that homosexuality is due to a combination of social, biological, and psychological factors. Dr. Hamer has said, "Genes are hardware…the data of life’s experiences are processed through the sexual software into the circuits of identity. I suspect the sexual software is a mixture of both genes and environment, in much the same way the software of a computer is a mixture of what’s installed at the factory and what’s added by the user (P. Copeland and D. Hammer (1994) The Science of Desire. New York: Simon and Schuster.)”
So there seems to be choice involved in it. So I would like to know why teachers in California have decided that they are going to liberate children of gender. Liberate you from your gender? Gender isn't a choice. It is biological. This is abusive to young children. They are trying to teach them that biology doesn't matter. The goal according to the union is that children should feel liberated from stereotypes. So do we dress our little boys in skirts to send them to school? Where exactly is this going to lead? This is the slippery slope of liberalism. We take young children who are in the process of figuring out who they are and where they belong in the world, and we confuse them more than they already are. We get them questioning who they are and the values that they are being taught at home by their parents, who by the way should be teaching those values.
Gender is never choice. It is biological. There are hormones that are different between males and females, our body parts are different, we have different functions when it comes to reproduction. Teaching children that is basic science. Gender is not in your head. It isn't a state of mind. You have a penis or you don't. Even if you decide to have surgery to "change" your gender, it cannot be done without changing your hormones. Which says that it is biological. It further proves that it is science.
We are blurring the lines between males and females and what is the end game here? It wasn't all that long ago that homosexuality was considered a mental illness. That all changed when people started to "normalize" it. While some may think that I am going a bridge too far with this comparison but I truly believe this is just another step in trying to normalize pedophilia the same way that they normalized homosexuality.
If you are the parent of young children in the public school system in California you need to stand up to this nonsense. The school system has no right to "liberate" your child of their God-given gender. This is just one more way that the far left is interfering with the parent child relationship and pushing an agenda that is detrimental to the core family unit in this country. It must be stopped.
The only real cure to this is to get a movement going to get more conservatives involved in the school systems, the unions, and the school boards. We should be teaching our children how to think critically, not that their gender is a state of mind.

Hey California - You're Not Too Big to Fail
I am sorry, but if you elect this sad, sorry excuse for a public servant, you deserve what you get. More debt, more uncontrolled spending, more tax dollars going to support illegals, and more power to public sector unions. What you are not going to get is my hard-earned tax dollars to bail out your sorry butts.
Sorry Opus, nothing personal, but California, you are on your own.

Liberal Logic - Western Center Law and Poverty Center on California's Welfare Fraud
"When people go on assistance, they're going to have the same kind of life situations come up as anyone else. You're going to visit your sick relative. You're going to go to funerals out-of-state. That's what's going on here," says Mike Herald from the Western Center on Law and Poverty. This is the answer that they come up with when it is shown that welfare money is being withdrawn on cruise ships? How many funerals have you been to that occur on a cruise? It seems that California's welfare recipients seem to have a very high level of sick relatives and funerals in Las Vegas as well, a total of $12 million per year. But don't despair, they are only wasting less than 1%. What's a measly $69 million? Why even bother to fix the problem? The "rich" can afford it. After all, California is just swimming in budget surpluses.

Damon Dunn - A Patriot Running in California
Football fans may know the name, he used to play in the NFL. He has an amazing life story. His mom, who was very young when he was born and raised him alone, told him that attending college was the only option. He worked hard and made it to Stanford University. While there, he met Dr. Condi Rice. She explained to him what conservatism means. He didn't have many republicans explaining things to him while he was growing up. He worked hard and made it to the NFL. His career wasn't anything stellar and he decided to leave and start a real estate business. He did excel there. He is now running for Secretary of State in California. We need to spread the word and the green. He is one of the good guys.

I am paying for California?
Barney Frank (D-MA); one of my personal favorites in the house, has introduced a bill that will guarantee all state bonds for California with federal funds. You see, California is “too big to fail”. Haven’t we had about enough of the too big to fail?
When will enough be enough? We are going to use additional tax dollars to back California’s bonds with one hand, while taking away the stimulus money because the federal government doesn’t like the wages being paid to some union workers with the other. What kind of sense does this make?
People, we need to stand up and tell this government we have had enough. We need to take away this never ending power the federal government has given itself. The constitution is being thrown out the window and we are passively standing by.

Change we can believe in?
This is an article from The Los Angeles Times. Not exactly a bastion of right wing thinking.
And Guess What? The union SEIU that is referred to in the article, is closely related to guess who? ACORN.
U.S. threatens to rescind stimulus money over wage cuts
The Obama administration threatens to rescind billions in stimulus money if Gov. Schwarzenegger and lawmakers do not restore wage cuts to unionized home healthcare workers.
By Evan Halper May 8, 2009
Reporting from Sacramento -- The Obama administration is threatening to rescind billions of dollars in federal stimulus money if Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and state lawmakers do not restore wage cuts to unionized home healthcare workers approved in February as part of the budget.Schwarzenegger's office was advised this week by federal health officials that the wage reduction, which will save California $74 million, violates provisions of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. Failure to revoke the scheduled wage cut before it takes effect July 1 could cost California $6.8 billion in stimulus money, according to state officials.
The news comes as state lawmakers are already facing a severe cash crisis, with the state at risk of running out of money in July. The wages at issue involve workers who care for some 440,000 low-income disabled and elderly Californians. The workers, who collectively contribute millions of dollars in dues each month to the influential Service Employees International Union and the United Domestic Workers, will see the state's contribution to their wages cut from a maximum of $12.10 per hour to a maximum of $10.10. The SEIU said in a statement that it had asked the Obama administration for the ruling.
The cut was highly contentious during last winter's budget talks. Republican lawmakers insisted that the rapidly growing, multibillion-dollar state program, In Home Supportive Services, be scaled back significantly.Democrats fought major reductions in the program, which they say is a cost-effective alternative to nursing-home care, but ultimately compromised.Reversing the wage cut would require a two-thirds vote of the Legislature, meaning Republican support would be needed. Schwarzenegger on Wednesday sent U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius a letter urging the federal government to reconsider. "Neither the Legislature nor I make decisions to reduce wages or benefits lightly, but only as a last resort in response to an unprecedented fiscal crisis," Schwarzenegger wrote
