I Love It When A Liberal Gets a Reality Check - Sherri Sheppard to Become Gun Owner

Sheri Sheppard from The View has had her aha moment when it comes to guns and providing protection for your family. Her alarm indicated that an intruder was in her home at 1:30 in the morning.  It was then that the family realized that they had nothing in their home to protect themselves.

'I’m trying to calm Jeffrey down and all I had was this wicker basket, I have nothing, a bat, nothing. We’re going to get a gun.'

Jeffrey is her young son who was rightly frightened by the incident.  It is very scary for an adult, so imagine how much worse it is for a child, who is completely dependant on others to provide protection.

Of course her liberal co-hosts tried to talk her out of it.  Whoopi Goldberg went as far as to tell her to buy a bat.  While of course a bat could help you, but first and foremost, if they have a gun it isn't exactly an effective tool to provide protection.  But the most obvious downfall of a bat is how close you to get to the person in order for it to be used.  Why would you want to get that close to someone who is in your home in the middle of the night? Especially if you have been woken out of a sound sleep.

Apparently it took seven minutes for the police to arrive at her home.  Think of what could happen to you in seven minutes in your home with someone with criminal intent on their mind.  That may seem like nothing, but a great deal can happen in that time.  She is lucky that she has the ability to afford an alarm system, otherwise the time for the police to arrive would have been even longer.

There is nothing wrong with buying a gun for home protection.  You buy yourself something small, easy to use and you take lessons on how to use it and store it properly.

Evil exists in our world.  It is all around us.  We can bury our heads in the sand or we can do what we can to learn how to protect ourselves and our families.  Law abiding citizens have every right to defend themselves in their own home.  You can't wish away criminals.

Welcome to the land of reality, Ms. Sheppard.

Whoopi and Bill Part Deux

What is really sad about this is that she even when the fact that government crime statistics show that Jews are the religious group that faces the most persecution in this country she just dismisses it.  Those pesky little things like facts just don't matter.  Why bother with reality if it gets in the way of your world view?

Personally, I think that Whoppi is a very talented actress.  I went to see Colored Girls and she did an amazing job.  But her thought process is just beyond me.  She says we should have discussions on differing points of view about terrorism, yet she says she doesn't know what a Madrassa is.  You can't have an intelligent conversation about terrorism if you are not even willing to find out some basic facts of what is going on in the Muslim world.  While it is true that most terrorists are not graduates of the Madrassa system, it is continuous breeding ground for the hatred toward the west that is all too prevalent in that part of the world.

Ingraham's "View" of Whoopi and Joy

I used to enjoy watching The View.  Those days are long since gone.  Now, even though I don't agree with Whoopi on anything politically, for the most part I think that she makes arguments that contain intelligent thought most of the time.  The "not rape, rape" comment on Polanski being a vivid exception.  The comment she made today about Timothy McVeigh being a Christian another.  I, for the life me, can't figure the connection.  McVeigh didn't do the bombing because of Christ.  McVeigh didn't yell God is Great while killing people, terrorists do.  I am sick to death of hearing progressive liberals bringing him up.  There is no connection between the two.  McVeigh was an crazy anti-government man, who happened to be brought up as a Christian.  On 9/11, 3,000 innocent people were murdered in the name of Islam.  These two things are not even remotely related.  Also, the liberal left such as Behar have no problem bashing Christians.  But, heaven forbid, someone make a factual statement that Muslims attacked us on 9/11 and her nose gets all out of joint and they made complete fools out of themselves.  Crazy Liberal Logic.

More Liberal Logic in Action

On Monday, the ladies of The View were discussing the Roman Polanski arrest. Whoopi's comment:

It wasn't rape-rape. Huh? What the heck does that mean?

Here is a portion of the 13 year old victim's grand jury testimony:

Q: Did you take a Quaalude?

A: I took part of it.

Q: Where did you get this part?

A: [Polanski] gave it to me.[...]

Q: After he kissed you did he say anything?

A: No.

Q: Did you say anything?

A: No, besides I was just going, "No. Come on, let's go home."

Q: What was said after you indicated that you wanted to go home when you were sitting on the couch?

A: He said "I'll take you home soon."

Q: Then what happened?

A: Then he went down and he started performing cuddliness.

Q: What does that mean?

A: It means he went down on me or he placed his mouth on my vagina.[...]

Q: What happened after that?

A: He started to have intercourse with me.

Q: What do you mean by intercourse?

A: He placed his penis in my vagina.

Q: What did you say, if anything, before he did that?

A: I was mostly just on and off saying, "No, stop." But I wasn't fighting really because I, you know, there was no one else there and I had no place to go.

Q: What did he say, if anything?

A: He didn't answer me when I said, "No."[...]

A: I think he said something like right after I said I was not on the pill, right before he said, "Oh, I won't come inside of you then." And I just went--and he goes--and then he put me--wait. Then he lifted my legs up farther and he went in through my anus.

Q: When you say he went in your anus, what do you mean by that?

A: He put his penis in my butt.

Q: Did he say anything at that time?

A: No.

Q: Did you resist at that time?

A: A little bit, but not really because--(pause.)

Q: Because what?

A: Because I was afraid of him.[...]

Q: Do you know what a climax is?

A: Yes.

Q: Do you know whether he had a climax?

A: Yes.

Q: And how do you know that?

A: Because I could kind of feel it and it was in my underwear. It was in my underwear. It was on my butt and stuff.

Q: When you say that, you believe that he climaxed in your anus?

A: Yes.

Whoopi if that doesn't sound like rape to you, then I truly feel sorry for you. I also would like to think that if this had happened to your daughter your attitude about this being raped would be profoundly different.

138 "hollywood" people have signed a petition demanding the release of Mr. Polanski. Woody Allen of all people signed it. I guess him not thinking there is anything wrong with what Mr. Polanski did comes as no surprise since he is now married to much younger woman who was his step-daughter. Johnathon Demme, Martin Scorsese, and Tilda Swinson are signatories as well.

I was always under the impression that liberals were champions of women's rights, that as a conservative I was the one that didn't care about women. Isn't that what liberals like Whoppi say? Although this isn't really about women, this is about children. He is a CHILD RAPIST. What in that is so hard to understand?

Debra Winger has described this as an arcane technicality.

Seriously, what is wrong with these people?
