All the Things You Need an ID to Do

  1. Get on an airplane
  2. Get something notarized
  3. Open a bank account
  4. Register for college
  5. Drive
  6. Apply for Food Stamps
  7. Apply for Medicaid
  8. Apply for Unemployment
  9. Cash a check
  10. Get a mortgage
  11. Get married
  12. Get a job
  13. Apply for Welfare
Yet Debbie Wasserman-Schultz thinks that asking someone to show ID in order to vote is racist.  Could it be that she not all that interested in stopping voter fraud?  It is next to impossible to survive in U.S. without some form of picture I.D.

'Fess Up Debbie, there is more to the far left's resistance to requiring I.D. in order to vote.  So, please enlighten us.  You cannot get virtually any government aid without some form of identification.  How do these people have bank accounts if they don't have an I.D?

Quote of the Day - Linda Weiss Edition

But he didn’t return my messages. I discovered that Anthony is a bad man… and a liar.”
Linda Weiss - One of Anthony Weiner sexting Partners.

Yet she goes on to say this:

“I am a Democrat, I think he is a wonderful congressman and I hope this doesn’t hurt his career. I am still a big supporter of his, despite all of this.”

Only a liberal.  Heaven help us if this is the mindset of the people in Weiner's district.  We get the government we deserve.  And what do we deserve when we continue to support a man who is having phone sex in his office that is paid for by tax payers, and then say he is a wonderful congressman?  I guess truth and integrity are no longer needed to be a congressman.

Herman Cain - Faith and Freedom Coalition Conference Full Speech

It took me a while to find this with just his speech.

Enjoy....................

Quote of the Day - Joy Behar Edition Part 3

“Let me defend Sarah for 30 seconds,” Behar protested. “The woman has no sex scandal in her dossier, in her arsenal. This is a completely different thing from Sarah Palin. And I want to defend her here.”
Joy Behar on The View.  So I guess wonders never cease.  But, then again what Barbara Walters said was moronic.  Very, very moronic.

“[A]nthony Weiner, whom I also know, has a problem,” Walters said. “He can be very sarcastic and very sardonic. And you know there are a lot of times you wish he would not say it. He is a good congressman. He has been an effective congressman. If Sarah Palin can still ride around on her bus and be considered as a possible president, this man can override this, stay in congress and just hope there is another scandal that will take him –”
OK, so riding around on a bus is the same thing as sending pictures of penis to young women he says he has never met?

I would love to hear what she has to say tomorrow now that he admits that he did it.  She wasn't so sure.

“First of all, I have my own theory about why he took that picture, if indeed he did take that picture,” Walters said. “This is my theory – this doesn’t mean that it is right. He is married to this beautiful woman, whom I know, who a lot of us know, who the chief of staff to Hillary Clinton and she travels a lot. And it may be that he took that picture and sent it to his wife to say this is how much I miss you. That’s possible.”

H/T to The Daily Caller

The Ick Factor

I have primarily kept away from "Weinergate" with the exception of two quotes. One being from Weiner himself saying he doesn't know if the underwear clad penis belongs to him and a CNN anchor asking that since he has never talked about morality he really isn't being a hypocrite. There in lies my ick factor to this whole incident.

First and foremost, he is a married man so there is morality involved in this. Far be it from me to talk for his wife, but as a woman I can tell you if my husband were emailing photos of his penis I would have a problem with it. I don't think that is such an outrageous position to hold. It is coming out today that there are additional photos, some of him shirtless and others that are pretty benign. Again, except for the fact he is a married man. We have a real problem in this country if we are saying that there is no morality issue with a married spending time on the internet with other women. We also have a real problem with people finding it acceptable to taking naked and/or lewd photos and sending them out into cyberspace.

Parents of tweens and teens are working overtime to try to explain to their children that sending these types of photos is dangerous. First and foremost if the girl is underage it can be considered kiddie porn and the person with the photo can end up on a sex offender list. Not something that anyone would want to see happen to a child that is not engaging in that type of behavior. There are also the dangers of teens being innocent enough that they don't realize that the person that they are sending them to are in reality a sex offender. They are potentially putting themselves in grave danger. And here we are having a congressman, who is not only ambitious, but very well-known due to his attraction to any camera around. How exactly do we explain to our children that it is ok for a congressman to do this, but they can't?

While I don't think anyone should be using a politician as a role model, because they certainly are not, but it is very difficult when this is in the news. They hear about it, they see it in the news, they have access to this info on the internet. I personally find this insulting.

I am listening to his press conference now. He finally admits that he sent a picture of penis to a young woman he never has met in person. What kind of person does this? He puts it down to a mistake, he was not drinking or using drugs when he did these things. He is standing there talking about how he has lied and he takes responsibility for his actions. He calls it a personal failing. But he believes that he works hard for his district and is refusing to resign. He doesn't feel that he has done anything that has any effect on his job performance. No effect on your job performance? Really?

So let me get this straight, he is an admitted liar, and a pervert who sends pics of his private parts to very young women he has never met, even though he is married to a very attractive woman. This is the actions of someone we depend upon to make decisions on how this country this runs. This is what we want to show our children? Is this who we want representing us?

Is it really so much to ask that the people who are representing us have a sense of morality and the realization that these type of scandals have an effect on the children in this country? I don't think that it is. A member of congress should be held to a higher standard while they are serving in office.

My other question is what other behaviors is this man involved in? Can he really be trusted?

The NAACP Chooses Unions over Education

Not this comes as a surprise to me.  The public school system in this country is broken.  Of course there are some very good public schools in this country, but we also have far too many that are failing our communities and our children.  One such community is Harlem.

The City of New York has a plan to close 22 failing public schools and to open 19 charter schools using the same properties to do so.  It is no surprise that the unions are fighting this, as they always do.  But, what should come as a surprise the NAACP has joined with the unions to force the city to keep these schools open.  These schools that serve a mainly minority population.

One of the schools that they are trying to save is PS 332 Charles H. Houston.  PS 332 finished in the bottom 1% of public schools last year.  The combination of the schools that the city is planning on closing is as follows:

Average English/Language proficiency is 16%.  (Citywide average is 42%, still dismal, but much better)
Average Math proficiency is 19%.  (Citywide average is 53%, again dismal but much better)
One of the most frustrating things for the parents in this community is that this suit was filed so late into the school year that it is putting the parents in a position that they don't know what is going to happen to their children for the new school year that is only a few short months away.  The parents that fought to get their kids into the open slots in the better schools are left not knowing if they will still be able to send their children for the September school year.  At a rally last week in Harlem a parent said:

"My child cannot be told that she's not going to get to go to her school in September.  I cannot look her in the eye, as a parent, and tell her, 'Well, the problem is that this group of people that Mommy told you about during  Black History Month, that did all those great things a long time ago - they want to stop you from doing great things."
The main point from this woman's statement is "a long time ago".  The NAACP has shown it's true colors.  They are no longer fighting for the rights of minorities and has become nothing more than a shill group for far left policies and the unions.  This action smacks of a organization that has lost it's true mission.  Fighting for equality for the black community.  Why should a poor black child be stuck in a failing school because the unions are refusing to accept the changes that are necessary to in order to improve our public school system?  Why should these 7,000 students give up the chance at a better education so that union teachers can save their jobs?  These parents are fighting for the future of their children.  Having a substandard education is one sure way to keep a person living on public assistance, denying them a chance to get a higher education.  We live in a world that is becoming more and more competitive.  While having a college education is no guarantee for a brighter future is certainly helps.

The statement from the NAACP:

Charter Schools serve only a tiny number of students and that the NAACP is fighting for equality for all students
How, by throwing good money after bad to a school that is one of the worst public schools in the City of New York?    The teacher's unions have proven over and over again that they are not student centered.  The union is more concerned about the pay scales and job security of the teachers than they are of the students.  Remember this?

The fact that NAACP has chosen to side with an organization that is more concerned with paychecks and benefits than they are with student achievement is just more proof that the NAACP no longer has the minority community best interests at heart.

School Chancellor of New York Dennis Walcott says:

"These figures are nothing to brag about, the unions should be with us.  That's probably too much to expect, considering the union's past intransigence.  Surely, though, it's not too much to hope for from an organization with a history of fighting for civil rights."
It is high time that the people who give money to the NAACP to ask themselves if they are getting their what they pay for.  The NAACP is no longer an organization that fights for minorities it is an organization that is intent on keeping the minority community on the far left plantation.  They pretend to be about the black community being able to have the same opportunities as everyone else in this country.  Except when it comes to getting a good education.

There is nothing more fundamental than an education.  These parents have the right to choose a good education for their children.  The City of New York has not only the right, but the responsibility to close failing schools.  The unions and The NAACP should have nothing but shame for trying to force these kids into one of the worst schools in the country.

Read Ben Jealous, the CEO of the NAACP defense here.  My question to Mr. Jealous is how long do these parents have to wait?  How long do they try and fix a failing school?  How much money do we waste before we decide that the school can't be saved?  None of those of questions are answered in his defense.

Julia Dale has God given talent and amazing composure for such a young age.  I am sure we will be hearing from her in the future.

Too bad Miami didn't show the same composure as they blew a 15 point lead in the fourth and lost the game in last few seconds.

Just How Progressive is Northern Virginia?

I saw this at Tyson’s Mall tonight.  For those that don’t live in Northern Virginia, Tyson’s Mall is what Sarah Palin would call Hoity Toity.

My real question is why they do this.  Doesn't make more sense that the hybrids do more driving to cut down on emissions?  They should put all the gas guzzlers right next to the stairs and make the greenies walk.  That would cut down on more emissions wouldn't it?

Because Nothing Says Racism Like a Milk Chocolate Bar

That's right.  This is racist.  At least according to Naomi Campbell and her mother.  Naomi threatened Cadbury with a law suit for what exactly is not clear.

It couldn't be the diamonds that were referring to Naomi, remember she received diamonds from a war criminal and mass murderer after a dinner party with Charles Taylor.  She had to testify at world court a while back.  But, no that couldn't be it.

Nor could it be that Naomi is infamous for her temper; sometimes violent, and her all around bitchiness.  She has been arrested and sued many times of the years.  But no, it isn't that.

It is she is black woman.  That is why they used her name in this ad.

Personally I would take it a compliment that someone is still talking about her.  She is all but irrelevant at this point in her life as far as the public is concerned.

Sadly, Cadbury bowed down to the political correctness and pulled the ad.

Quote of the Day - Neal Kumar Katyal Edition

If we’re going to play that game, I think that game can be played here as well, because after all, the minimum coverage provision only kicks in after people have earned a minimum amount of income,” Kaytal said. “So it’s a penalty on earning a certain amount of income and self insuring. It’s not just on self insuring on its own. So I guess one could say, just as the restaurant owner could depart the market in Heart of Atlanta Motel, someone doesn’t need to earn that much income. I think both are kind of fanciful and I think get at…”

Sutton interjected, “That wasn’t in a single speech given in Congress about this...the idea that the solution if you don’t like it is make a little less money.”
Acting Solictor General Neal Kumar Katyal during oral arguments on Obamacare in front of the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals.

There are not words for this.  So I guess since I am against the individual mandate I can just stop working for a few months a year or take a lower paying jobs.  How exactly am I going to save for my retirement then?  I am in that age group that unless something changes, there won't be any money left in the Social Security account.  The heck with my being responsible with my personal finances, I just need to earn less money so the government won't tell me what to do.  The problem is if I don't make enough money I will need someone to help me pay my bills.

You Don't Say - Study Shows that Divorce Permanently Harms Children

The news that studies show that children of divorce are damaged shouldn't be shocking, yet it is. This is just another example of how our culture tries to decide what is and what is not good for human development. Children are hurt by divorce. Again, for the life of me I cannot understand how this is so difficult to people to grasp.

In a perfect world we would marry, have children and live happily ever after. But, the world is not perfect. Sometimes people make bad choices for a mate and have children before they realize it. Or sometimes they want children so badly that they go ahead and have them thinking it may make the marriage better (hint, this rarely works) or they are afraid they will lose the chance to have kids and figure they will get a divorce shortly after the child is born. I actually know someone who did that. She had one child already and didn't want her to be an only child. She got pregnant and divorced her husband a few months after the baby arrived.

Children want to please their parents. It is natural for them. They are completely dependent upon them and gaining praise from Mom and Dad is a priority. While every child is different, there are things that are relatively standard. We are all human and our natural instincts do have a guiding factor in our lives, even as much as some would like to pretend that they don't. When children are watching their parents fight over custody, fight over money, and the child is being carted between homes it takes a toll.

Children struggle with maths and making friends when their parents divorce, a study has found.

They often fall behind classmates whose parents stay married, suffering from anxiety, loneliness and feeling sad – and may never catch up academically.

Contrary to some previous research, children through primary school did not show any negative effects before the parents decided to split, the U.S. study found.
One of the problems is that our culture no longer looks at divorce as a failure to be avoided. It has become almost a rite of passage. We make light of the decision of marriage, we have gone as far into turning into a reality show. Like this is how we should be picking a spouse. We spend sometime making out with various people in a hot tub then at the end of the day we give roses to the one we would like to stay on for another few days. While most people don't make decisions on marriage in this fashion, it is likely that we all know people who have jumped into marriage with someone who they don't know very well, or marry someone they know is bad for them. Many women fall into the "Bad Boy" trap and are stupid enough to think that they can change them. Ladies, let me give you a little advice the bad habits they have they day before your wedding don't magically disappear the day after. They usually become more pronounced and annoy you even further when you live with them full-time.

Going into a marriage you are unsure about is not only unhealthy for you, it is very unhealthy for our children. While many parents are able to keep the martial strife away from their children, many do not. Divorces become ugly as raw emotion and attorney's take over. Many parents become completely obsessed about hurting their spouse and have a complete disregard for the effect that this will have on their children. With the divorce numbers as high as they are in our society just think of how many kids this is affecting and what it is doing to our society as a whole.

Children of divorce experience setbacks in maths test scores and show problems with interpersonal skills and internalising behaviour,’ lead researcher Hyun Sik Kim, of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, said.

‘They are more prone to feelings of anxiety, loneliness, low self-esteem and sadness.’

Sadly, we cannot say it isn't so.

Quote of the Day - Jessica Yellin Edition

He made the case that the media has made to much of this.  To be honest he has never been a crusader on social issues, so you can't argue he is being a hypocrite, you know a morality hypocrite, you know all evidence we've seen he didn't break the law, so that raises the question is this getting too much media attention?
Jessica Yellin on Congressman Weiner's undie photo.

So, if a republican had his account hacked and a photo of someone in his undies was tweeted to college aged girl, it would be problem?  Gotcha.

I don't know if the photo is him or not.  I think I read recently that he has finally come out and say that the photo is not of him.  Why it took this long for him to do that is beyond me.

Quote of the Day - Anthony Weiner Edition

I can’t say with certitude. My system was hacked. Pictures can be manipulated. Pictures can be dropped in and inserted.

Rep. Weiner speaking to Luke Russert about the tweeted photo of a man in his underwear from his twitter account.

He doesn't know if he owns a pair of underwear in that color?  Exactly how many close-ups does he has of himself in his undies?

I can tell you how many exist of me.  Zero.  There, not so hard.

C'mon Anthony, fess up.  Are sending college co-eds pictures of your penis or not?  It really is a simple question.

I bet his wife knows.

Quote of the Day - Debbie Wasserman-Schultz Edition

“We have 12 million undocumented immigrants in this country that are part of the backbone of our economy and this is not only a reality but a necessity," she said. "And that it would be harmful--the Republican solution that I’ve seen in the last three years is that we should just pack them all up and ship them back to their own countries and that in fact it should be a crime and we should arrested them all.”
OK, first if you are not in the country legally, than it is illegal to be here.  If something is illegal it is a crime.  Is that so hard to understand?

Second, how much money are we spending on illegal immigrants that pay no taxes?  We give them food stamps, we give them welfare, and we pay for their children to get educated.  Shall I go on?

At the same breakfast she came out with this nugget too:

“If it were up to the candidates for president on the Republican side, we would be driving foreign cars; they would have let the auto industry in America go down the tubes.”

OK, we didn't one dime to Ford, and they are doing just fine.  Second, she drives a foreign car.  If she wants to lecture about driving American made cars her argument would be much stronger if she actually drove one.  She has an Infinity.  A SUV at that.  She spent a boatload for it too.  About $40,000.  Must be nice.

Can you say hypocrite?

Questions for the President Part 2

I have some additional questions that I would like to ask President Obama:

Why do you believe that United States has the right to say what Israel's borders should be? Don't you think they have a much better feel for what their defense needs are then we do?

When Netanyahu was talking to the press in the oval office during a press availability, the camera panned over to your face. It looked like you had nothing but contempt for him. Is that true, and if so, why?

You have recently hired a Director of Progressive Media and Online Response. It would seem that this position is set up to do opposition research for your upcoming re-election campaign. Isn't that something that should be paid for by the DNC or your campaign and not the American taxpayers?

After the death of bin Laden, you said you didn't want to release the photos because Americans don't need to "spike the football". You and your administration then went out and talked about it in length and more detail than I personally felt was necessary. How would releasing the photos be spiking the football more than you already were. (I am against releasing the photos by the way).

Many people in the democratic party made a very big deal of the Seal Six team while President Bush was still in office. Some went as far to call them Cheney's murder squad. Do you find that to be hypocritical now that your party is lauding their accomplishment, or were they simply wrong when they said these things?

Come to find out, bin Laden was wearing only underwear (therefore making a suicide belt very unlikely) when the seals entered his bedroom and was unarmed. Was the mission always a shoot to kill? If so, was that done so you wouldn't have to make the choice of where to jail him and how to try him?

During the memorial service in Missouri after the damage from the tornado people in the audience were yelling "We Love You". Wasn't that inappropriate for the venue? If so, why did you say I love you back? This was meant to be a solemn service was it not?

Were you surprised at the reaction to your call for Israel to return to 1967 borders? Did you backtrack on that once you realized that you could end up losing financial support from the Jewish population?

Do you really believe that we can wait to make changes to entitlement programs? If not, what are you waiting for?
