UConn Wins Big East

I am huge basketball fan, so this is one of my favorite times of the year - March Madness.  Having grown up in CT, I have a special place in my heart for the Huskies.

UConn, the #9 seed, pulled off what seemed like the impossible and won five games in five days.  Four teams in the top 25.

Kemba Walker is the tournament MVP with a record breaking 130 points; in the semi finals win he had 33 points, 12 rebounds, five assists and six steals.  A performance not normally seen by a guard.

Congrats to UConn and Kemba Walker.

This amazing performance should give them a higher seed at the big dance.

Come Dancing - Let the Madness Begin

Today is the start of the NCAA Basketball tourney.  One of my favorite sporting events of the year.

Old Dominion University beat Notre Dame (I picked this on my bracket, yeah)
51-50

It took BYU double overtime but they did indeed defeat Florida.  Florida played a great game, but just ran out of steam at the end.
99-92 2OT

Villanova needed overtime to overcome 15 seeded Robert Murray State.  Not a good sign for the #2 seed I would say.
73-70 OT

Murray State pulled off a big upset today.  They took on #4 seed  Vanderbilt.  Murray State has been very close to pulling off upsets in the past, today they got the cigar.  Good for them, but I would venture to say that many brackets are none too pleased with this development.  We will see how far this Cinderella will go.
66-65

Kansas State showed why they are a #2 seed with an easy victory over North Texas.
82-62

Butler had a pretty easy win over UTEP
77-59
