Quote of the Day - Helen Thomas Edition

Well, it seems that she is at it again.  This is exactly the type of propaganda that was used in the lead up to the Holocaust.  She was speaking at an anti-bias seminar in Detroit. 

"I can call a president of the United States anything in the book but I can't touch Israel, which has Jewish-only roads in the West Bank,  no American would tolerate that -- white-only roads."

Does she not see that we don't have people sending bombs into our cities.  While I will agree that some will defend Israel in any circumstances.  No one is right 100% of the time, but she is totally overlooking one fact; Israel has had no problems with Jordan or Egypt since signing peace agreements.  This proves that if you leave them alone to live in peace, they will return the favor. 
 
It seems that Helen Thomas, like Whoopi Goldberg, is just ignoring the latest FBI report on bias crimes in America.  If you are Jewish you are more likely to be a victim of a hate crime.  Once upon a time in Malmo, Sweden there existed a lively Jewish community.  That community no longer exists due to the excessive hate crimes committed by Muslims.  While I don't believe that all Muslims are terrorists, the vast majority are anti-semitic.  For far too many middle eastern people the State of Israel is wrongly considered to be the root of all problems.  The hatred of Jews is taught to children at very young ages.  Until that stops, the problems towards Israel will never stop.  There can be no peace until the Muslims practice what they preach about tolerance.

Rosie, Rosie, Rosie.  You are so lost it is quite sad. 

The Jews were in that land before Islam even exisited.  The Jews have been in that land for thousands of years, and the Israeli state was on its way to existance before World War II.  The Jews were pushed out of that land by the Romans, The Turks, and The Philistines. 

So when the Jewish State of Israel came into effect, they were really just returning the land that was theirs thousands of years earlier. 

I also find it hilarious that progressives are foaming at the mouth about political correctness.  Pot meet kettle.

Wayne State University is considering changing the name of an annual award that is given out at their University:

The Helen Thomas Diveristy Award.

How hard can it be to make this decision? 

Helen Thomas' is Sorry For Israeli Comments - Sorry that the Video went Viral That Is.

“I deeply regret my comments I made last week regarding the Israelis and the Palestinians. They do not reflect my heart-felt belief that peace will come to the Middle East only when all parties recognize the need for mutual respect and tolerance. May that day come soon.”

Helen Thomas has made many stupid comments over the years.  It is very clear that she believes that there is a moral equivalence between the United States and Islamic Terrorists:
 

I was trying to find out why, why, what’s, look, we’ve been in this war, eight, nine years, against this so-called terrorism. And I do say "so-called" because in the newspapers, if you read, you read about the militants, you don’t read about us bombing everybody, and never really explaining why, and going into three, four different countries, Middle East, Africa, and so forth. Who are we? And why are we doing this?

Has this woman gotten so old that she doesn't remember the fact that 9/11 happened before we were in Iraq and Afghanistan?  While the US military was in Middle Eastern Country before 9/11, but we were there by invitation.  The Saudis asked us to help defend against Saddam Hussein after he tried to take over the country of Kuwait.  That comment isn't even revisionist history, it is just outright false.  Helen Thomas is obviously a smart woman, but she certainly does have a closed mind when it comes to the politics and the issues of the Middle East. 

Ms. Thomas needs to explain how mutual respect and tolerance will be achieved when Hamas doesn't recognize the right of existence of Israel.  There will be no peace until then Helen.  Sorry to bring up that little detail, but it does need to be explained in order for your apology to actually work.
