Senator Byrd passed away early this morning. He was the longest serving senator in history. A prime example of why term limits are necessary. He did bring the pork to his state, so I guess that is how he kept getting re-elected.
As a child you are taught not to say mean things about the dead, so I think I am going to keep this short and sweet. But, I will say this complicates the dems push to get through cap and trade, the Kagan nomination, and financial reform.
May he rest in peace.
ReplyDeleteRIP? There is no peace in Hell.
ReplyDeleteIt's OUR fault as Americans that a curmudgeon like Byrd stayed in office as long as he did. As Conservative Girl said, he's a poster child for term limits.
ReplyDeleteWhat were the voters of West Virginia thinking to send that senile old man back to the Senate again and again?
I don't revel in anyone's death. Well, if Bin Laden ate a Hellfire tomorrow, I might do a happy dance, but other than that, I stay away from the gloating. This man had a family that likely loved him. Out of respect for them, I will keep my comments respectful as well.
