Tax Payers on the Hook for Healthcare Fines for Congress - Understanding the Bill Would Have Been Helpful

Not that we really needed it, but we have some further evidence that no one really read the pesky little details of the healthcare bill.  There is some debate about whether members of congress and their staff's are still legally eligible for their insurance or not.

The bill will force most of them into the state exchanges in 2014.  As such, some will qualify for the subsidies that are, of course, tax payer funded.  Well, the real kicker is, that since people will be getting the subsides, the employer will then be fined.  So, the tax payers will be paying for the subsidies and then paying the fine for giving those subsidies.  These fines could cost the American tax payers approximately $50 million per year.

Nanny Nancy wasn't kidding when she said we needed to pass the bill to find out what was in it.
