It is a good place for the people who live there, as most will benefit from the lower prices. Again, I don't like Walmart, but I understand why people shop there.Just a conservative girlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11982406297072353275noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2414290528721230538.post-34443553482234693652011-01-21T18:57:58.599-05:002011-01-21T18:57:58.599-05:00Georgia Ave is a tricky area. It's a major road that runs from DC into Maryland. So some parts are really nice, others are not. It's actually a good place for a store to go up as there are lots of traffic and bus stops. People can easily shop and then jump on the bus. This behavior in front of this man's home is so typical of the Left. They are absolutely nasty, but it seems we can't say that enough, can we? Rules of decorum and civility and "new tone" (eyes roll to Obama) don't apply to them. Only to us. Anyway, I don't care for Walmart either, but this is a free society. If Leftists can have abortion clinics in low-income, predominately black neighborhoods, then so can Walmart.Keikohttp://www.areyouwearingasweater.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2414290528721230538.post-59155053413330136732011-01-21T14:58:49.780-05:002011-01-21T14:58:49.780-05:00Thank you for your excellent first hand coverage. ...Thank you for your excellent first hand coverage. Funny how people who likely don't even live in the neighborhood where Walmart is being proposed decide that they know what's good for the folks who DO live there.Zillahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11284986414729616917noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2414290528721230538.post-49219904845608185872011-01-21T04:31:00.930-05:002011-01-21T04:31:00.930-05:00More thuggery from the Left. How nice.
I actuall...More thuggery from the Left. How nice.

I actually have no problem with Wal-Mart, home Depot or any other big-box. There is no obligation to provide insurance or any wage above minimum, just as there is no obligation to unionize workers. (Full disclosure: I rarely shop at Wal Mart). That Wal Mart has put "mom and pop" stores out of business is no different than inventing an automobile that puts buggy whip makers out of business. Sam Walton came up with a business model that is better than what everyone else came up with. BTW, Wal Mart is also credited with the demise of K Mart, Sears, JC Penney, and Montgomery Ward. Why is no one lamenting their demise?Beer, Bicycles and the VRWChttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08976779901265528597noreply@blogger.com
