Could it Really Be Bye Bye Barney?

Frank has actually had to campaign and dip into his own money.  We may be saying Buh Bye Barney in 48 hours.  Oh, happy day if I get to deliver a pink slip to his office.

Here is Tea Party Express' final ad before election day.

GO BIELAT!!

T - 2 and Counting

Here is a photo of the Murray for Congress Campaign office.  For this office to have so much enthusiasm with two days to go is quite amazing.  Jim Moron Moran has been in office for 20 long years and has a big advantage in this district.

I spent the afternoon knocking on doors of veterans.  Col. Murray was in the military for 24 years, and also served in Iraq, service that Moron Moran dismissed as not really being public service.

GO MURRAY!!!!

More Moderation from Sanity Rally

Jared Young, a California resident who attended the rally with fellow William and Mary student Chris McIntosh, told TheDC he already voted via absentee ballot in California’s heated Senate and Governor races – but not for Meg Whitman, Carly Fiorina, Barbara Boxer or Jerry Brown. He said he wrote himself in on the ballot for the Senator seat and voted for the Green Party candidate in the governor race – even though he had no idea who the candidate was.
“I’m not kidding,” Young said. “I really did that.”

McIntosh, who is registered in Virginia, said he plans vote Tuesday for Democratic candidates down the line, even though he doesn’t know who they are.

Melissa Miller, who came to rally from Texas with her husband Tom, said, told TheDC she’s voting for the Democrat House candidate, but couldn’t name the candidate from her district.
“I was mostly paying attention to the governor’s race,” Miller said.

Nice to know that these people pay attention.  I hope that they don't vote if they don't even know who the names of the people they are voting for.

Some Afternoon Humor - Why I'm So Depressed

Over Five Thousand Years ago Moses said to the children of Israel, "Pick up your shovels, mount your asses and camels, and I will lead you to the Promise Land."

Nearly 75 years ago Roosevelt, who started the welfare program, said, "Lay down your shovels, sit on your asses, and light up a camel, this is the Promise Land."

Today, Obama has stolen your shovel, taxed your asses, raised the price of camels and mortgaged the Promise Land!

I was so depressed last night thinking about Obamacare, the economy, the wars, lost jobs, savings, Social Security, and retirement funds I called a suicide hotline.  I had to press 1 for English.  I was connected to a call center in Pakistan.  I told them that I was suicidal.  They got really excited and asked if I could drive a truck.

President Obama is Absolutely Lost

This is coming from an unnamed source to an unnamed blogger so it must be taken with a grain of salt, but it is interesting fodder nonetheless.  Enjoy.............

I have been given access to a significant amount of internals all across the country. Senate, House, and governor races, and…well, it is going to be a very tough night for the Democratic Party. It is as bad as I and some others feared it would be for us a couple months ago. Nothing has improved - maybe a few races here and there have tightened, but overall, it’s looking very bad for us. Actually worse than the national polling data currently suggests even.

I think the Republicans right now have a 50/50 chance of taking a very slim majority. But at the very least, they are going to gain seven seats, which will basically shut down any sure-thing Democratic Party agenda in the Senate. We don’t fear that as much as what is going on with the House. It is going to be very difficult working with the House – the Republicans are taking on an increasingly aggressive tone heading into the election, and I think in 2011, they are going to putting on an all out offensive against the Obama agenda

The Obama White House has been a political train wreck from day one, and it isn’t getting any better at the moment. You already know my feelings on that.

Ok, I’ll just come out and say what is already underway, and to hell with the possible consequences to me. I will not support Barack Obama in 2012. That possibility has left the table for me. Based on what I know, what I have been told, what I have seen in recent weeks…no, I cannot support the President for a second term. My concern for the party, for the country…my conscience does not allow me that option any longer. Obama is not fit to be president. He simply does not possess the inclinations necessary to lead the country. And I don’t like saying that. I helped the man get elected. I was in the trenches day after day from city to city helping things get done in 2008…I take no pleasure in saying I was a part of that. And I take no pleasure in saying Obama should not be re-elected in 2012.

I do not know if the country can survive another four years of Barack Obama, and frankly, I want nothing to do with helping us find out. The man is an incompetent. The man is a tool of the extreme far left that has utterly corrupted the Democratic Party. The man and those now closest to him in the administration appear to abhor America’s history. They detest anyone who does not fully subscribe to their positions. They are corrupt, they are increasingly paranoid, and they are taking this country down a path by which we may never recover.

Here’s your headline for today – there is a movement within the Democratic Party to make Hillary the nominee in 2012 – not Obama. I’m not talking a small group of “what ifs” here, I’m talking about significant members of the party, significant financial backers…a legitimate and serious move to make Hillary Clinton our nominee. It is not quite fully initiated yet, but it’s getting there. And I don’t mind saying so publicly now – Mr. President, you are failing this country, you are failing the Democratic Party, and we will not support your further interest in doing so for another four years.

Right now the White House is scrambling, and they don’t know enemies from friends anymore. The party is attempting to localize the damage so it doesn’t spread. Make it just about Chicago, and worst case, Obama – but not the party. And so you look back to Chicago, you look at the Justice Department, connect the dots. One investigation will potentially reveal the other. And it’s all setting up to happen now if the November elections go down with a Republican landslide. Obama will be left without protection. His inner circle is scared to death. I mean truly frightened by the prospects of what could be coming at them in the coming months. They have enemies both in the Republican Party and the Democratic Party. President Obama is lost. Absolutely lost.”

The word is out there – President Obama is in real trouble. They may not have the specifics, but the story of a big scandal coming is circulating now within the party – both parties. So why put your own political career on the line supporting a president who is facing such a fiasco? Simple – they won’t. And so you are seeing the separation happening. The party itself is starting to separate itself from the president. You ever watch those nature programs where the herd doesn’t hang out with the sick one? You got that poor sick antelope or whatever standing all by itself and when it tries to join back with the herd they run away from it? They’ll even attack it themselves if they have to. That’s what happens in politics. If you are in real trouble, the others separate from you. That is what is happening to the president right now.

Crist Confirms President Clinton Tried to Oust Dem Candidate from Senate Race

I would not vote for Meek under any circumstances, but I do feel sorry for him.  His party threw him under the bus.

This is the second time in this election cycle that President Clinton has been sticking his nose into the process that the voters should be deciding.  This is our election.  President Clinton gets one vote in New York and that is it.  The fact that the administration is also doing this again is very disturbing.

Crist has proven himself to be nothing but an opportunist and nothing more.  Why anyone would trust this man is beyond me.  One of the reasons that this country is in trouble is because we don't put trustworthy and proper people in office.  4 days to go!!!

My real question is when will Sharpton and Jackson going to come and cry racism?  Oh, yeah these are democrats................

Sadly, this woman will probably be re-elected as her state is very liberal and she is in the 2nd most liberal district in the state of Minnesota.  Her smallest victory was her first race with 48% of the vote, a race that had three candidates in it.  She has won with as much as 70% of the vote.  She is a member of the Democratic-Farmer Labor Party, basically a socialist party that believes in government ownership of certain industries.

Talk about fear mongering.

Quote of the Day - Sean of Chicago

Reverend Al, I’ve been following you since the eighties ever since Tawana Brawley — brother, you’ve had a place in my heart that is special.

But, I’m from Chicago and the Democrats here can’t stand on their record, Reverend Al. That’s why the people are not coming out to vote because they’ve been abused and misused. And I would just like to end with this, that the Democratic Party has controlled the state government for at least ten or fifteen years.

The Democratic Party has controlled Chicago for at least 50 years and the blacks in Chicago and the blacks in the State of Illinois are worse off here, Reverend Al, you need come to Chicago so that you can see how bad they treat the people and now you gonna ask the people that you’ve been beaten down smacked up for ten or fifteen years to vote for me?

I’m not that ignorant, Reverend Al. I’m not going to keep expecting different results doing the same thing. Love you brother, out of here.

And So it Begins - Republican Leadership Making Plans to Hire Washington Insiders for New Congressional Members

Election day has not even happened yet and the RNC is already in full swing to keep the status quo.  The existing "leadership" and the RNC has already gone into it's resume bank to help the new members of congress hire their chiefs of staff.  While I understand that experience is important, this is really kicking the tea party in the teeth.

This effort is being led by none other than Congressmen John Boehner and Eric Cantor, the two top republicans in The House of Representatives.  Rumor has it that there is no real opposition to Boehner becoming The Speaker of the House and third in line to the presidency.  While I give a great deal of credit to both Cantor and Boehner for keeping the republican herd together over the past two years, I still question their commitment to a return to limited constitutional government.

“You want to be sure that the newbies, when they hit town, do not necessarily bring their campaign staff to run their Congressional offices, because in some cases they are totally ill-equipped,” one veteran Republican lobbyist said. “Winning an election is one thing, running a Congressional operation is another. A lot of these folks are really, really new to politics.”

A Republican strategist agreed, saying Members who come from swing districts benefit from having a staffer who already “knows the ropes” on the Hill to keep them from making mistakes.

GOP leaders are also expected to take an active role in making sure incoming committee chairmen have acceptable staff directors leading the panels. With the potential for new leadership at the Energy and Commerce Committee and the Appropriations panel, the Steering Committee is expected to vet potential chairmen’s choices for the most senior staff level, according to several Republican lobbyists.

“Those are very important committees,” one former GOP leadership aide said. “They do the lion’s share of the work in the House. There’s no doubt leadership would have an interest in who would be the staff director.”

The Tea Party has spent the better part of the last two years protesting, writing letters, sending e-mails, and making phone calls to limit the power of the federal government.  We have stood firm on the subject of limited government.  Had the tea party not been as vocal as it has been we would have much more damaging legislation passed; card check, cap and tax, and heavens knows what else.  The republicans were unable to stop anything, the tea party stopped it.

This is the same tactic that was used by the Democrats in 2006 and 2008, not a good sign of things to come.  It seems that The Republican Party wrongly believes that we wanted a change of leadership.  What we want is a change of the culture in Washington.  We want them to take their constitutional responsibilites seriously.  If they will not, we will just go through this process of cleaning them out again in two years.

Schooling the Newbies - Michele Bachmann Will Be Holding Classes on The Constitution for Congress

Congresswoman Bachmann has promised to start holding weekly classes on The Constitution, The Bill of Rights, and The Declaration of Independence. She will be inviting all newly elected members as well as encouraging the existing members to attend as well. She will be inviting in experts to hold these classes that will be one hour before they are required to be on the floor for the first vote of the day. Now, while I think that this is great news, but shouldn't they have known all this information before they took the oath saying that they will be defending it?

Bachmann started The Tea Party Caucus, so this will be very popular among them, but I wonder how popular it is going to be among the members of congress. The sad truth is that we have people in office on both sides of the aisle that have zero interest in the defending the constitution if it gets in the way of party and ideology. This coming election is not going to change that. While we have more republicans in office, not all of them will be on the side of the constitution, therefore not really being on the side of the everyday American.

I have been going to a constitution class that meets monthly for a while now. If you actually read the constitution you will find that the federal government is doing things on a daily basis that they have no power to do. This isn't something that can change anytime soon. This is a generational change that has to be made to our government. The federal government uses outright bribery to get what they want. One great example of this is the legal drinking age. The federal government has no ability to create a federal drinking age. But, if you notice we have one. While the laws are passed by individual states, they were forced into making that change virtually by force. The federal government put restrictions on the money that is given to them by the federal government for state roads and other transportation issues. Back in the early 80's MADD was very active and pushed legislators to make this change. Now, I am not saying that it is a bad law, I am just saying that the individual states should have the right to decide for themselves what that age is. Any state that did not raise its drinking age to 21 by a date certain would no longer qualify for the federal funds. Since the states rely on this money they are not in the position to turn it down, they all capitulated and raised the drinking age to 21. This is completely unconstitutional, yet we see it happen over and over again. Will this change by simply having a weekly class? I guess we will have to wait and see.

Bristol Palin on Dancing with the Stars Week 6

Bristol did much better this week.  Good for her, I couldn't dance in front of all those people.

Just Not That Into You - The Radical Left Studies the Tea Party Movement

The progressive left got together last week to "make sense" of the Tea Party movement.  The conference took place last week at Berkley.  Fractures, Alliances, and Mobilizations: Emerging Analyses of the Tea Party Movement was conducted by an academic group from The Center for the Comparative Study of Right-Wing Movements.  The group performing this study included one of the authors of the NAACP's report on racism within The Tea Party movement, David Weigel, the "conservative" disgraced blogger who was fired from The Washington Post, a reporter from the left leaning San Francisco Chronicle, and lefty academics.

Wow, I am sure that this was a fair and balanced view of the movement.  Within the audience they had about four or five people that actually have been to a tea party.  So, they get a bunch of people together in a room to talk about a movement that they couldn't be bothered to show up at to discuss the causes of the movement.  That seems like a very scholarly way to go about understanding it doesn't it?

The meme was about was expected; RAAACISM with a dose of fear thrown in for good measure.  Some didn't understand why the Tea Partiers understood Alinsky's Rules for Radicals better than many on the left did.  Hmm, that is a simple answer; we are doing our research.  The left simply cannot accept the fact that we are not just a bunch of hicks that can't stand the black man in The White House.  They were throwing out quotes from Newt Gingrich to show that this movement needs to be stopped.  Well, I have news for you, The Tea Party isn't exactly enamored with Newt and his party before principle stances he takes in many instances, so that was a waste of time.

One of the reasons that the left is having such a hard time understanding this movement is due to the belief that they are the only ones who have principles.  It is an arrogance that is keeping them from seeing anything other anger and racism as the answers to why people have joined this movement in droves.  While I will agree that there is fear involved, but the fear that we feel is based on what is being done to our children's ability to reach "The American Dream".  I will also concede that we are angry, but again that anger is misrepresented.  We are angry that the government is over-reaching and trying to control our personal lives and limit the choices that we can make for ourselves and our families.

They spent time over-reaching the meaning of a poll that shows:

"If you look across the board here, true skeptics of the Tea Party, 49 percent agreed with the proposition that blacks ought to work their way up without any special favors," says Parker. "But if you look at the true believers, that goes to 92 percent. This is another indicator of racism, right: Over the past few years, blacks have gotten less than they deserve. Forty-five percent of true skeptics disagree with this; almost 80 percent of true believers disagree with this."

The problem with this data is the fact that you are polling polar opposites only.  There are plenty of people that are in the middle; people that agree with certain aspects of the Tea Party principles and disagree with others.  It also is looking at questions based on race, the Tea Party looks at the issues for all Americans, not just race based questions.  While I certainly can't speak for the entire Tea Party, but as for myself, I don't think that we should be giving "special favors" to anyone.  We should be giving equal opportunities to everyone, and the individual will make the choice about what they are going to do with that opportunity.  The need for affirmative action was necessary forty years ago, the playing field was so uneven that we needed to try and level it.  All these decades later we have done that, the best that we can; a woman is third in line to the Presidency of the United States, and we have a black man as President of the United States.  We need to judge people based on character.  The right understands what the left never will; life is not fair and the government can't make it so, we have to deal with the good and the bad that life throws at us and do the best that we can.  When life knocks you down, you pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and move on.  That's life.

The biggest problem is that the radical left doesn't know what to do with a mobilized right.  They actually discussed having the tea party jailed.  The right has spent far too much time preaching to the choir and not enough time making their voices heard.  So now that we have, the panic is setting in.  They are setting up centers to "study" us.  Well, study all you like, you have never gotten it and never will.  We believe in individualism, something that the left will never understand.  They continue to blame to the Tea Party  for their radical agenda not being passed.  What they don't understand is that their belief system is not what the American people want.  We are a center right country, we always have been and that will not be changing anytime soon.  They can study all they like, it won't change the fact that they just don't get it; The American people are just not that into you.

Quote of the Day - Nancy Pelosi Edition

...We’re talking about addressing the disparity in our country of income, where the wealthy people continue to get wealthier and some other people are falling out of the middle class, when we want to bring many more people into the middle class.

But that disparity is not just about wages alone, that disparity is about ownership and equity.

It’s all about fairness in our country.

And we believe the healthcare bill is about jobs, the energy bill is about jobs, the education bill is about jobs, certainly the Recovery Act is about jobs...

And when people have those jobs, we want them to be able to bargain collectively. We want to pass the Employer Free choice act as well...
Nancy Pelosi to Union Workers

My question is when can we start spreading the wealth of her winery?  We can dig up all the grape vines, divide up the property and build some row houses to people who have less than her.  She is one of the "rich", the net worth of the winery is listed somewhere between $5 - $25 million (they don't have to be all that clear on those congressional forms apparently).  I don't own anything that is worth remotely close to $5 million.  So, I think she should spread her wealth with me.  Oh, yeah, she makes $176,000 per year.  She should cut her salary by 2/3 and give the rest to me as I make much less than that per year. Actually, since she has money and property she really doesn't need the money, so c'mon Nanny, hand it over.

The Intolerant Right?

For a man that has always been, and I am sure will continue to be, a liberal, this has been a rude awakening for him.

Quote of the Day - Dr. Zuhdi Jasser Edition

“I think that ultimately what we find when many thought leaders try to talk about it, [they say] ‘well there are some common elements to those who threaten national security,’ and the only one so far they have been able to nail down is that they come from some form of Islamic theology,’” Jasser said. “And because we have not become skilled in discussing theo-political threats, you’re having a lot of these little skirmishes happening.”

Dr. Zuhdi Jasser, of the American Islamic Forum for Democracy on NPR's Firing of Juan Williams.

If this doesn't wake people up in this country, I honestly don't know what more it will take.  We have been taken over by the PC police.  We can longer talk about justifiable fears of Islamic terrorism.  Debate is no longer allowed in this country.

Juan Williams' New Job

Juan Williams was fired yesterday afternoon for stating his opinion.  An opinion, that I might add, many in this country share;  lets say a few months after 9/11 and a person who dressed in clothing that lead you to believe that they are a Muslim is sitting next to you on a plane you wouldn't have a moments pause?  I would say that you are lying if you say that it wouldn't have mattered to you.

Since 9/11 we have had the shoe bomber, the undies bomber, the Fort Hood Shootings, and the Times Square bomber.  We have read the news reports about the arrests made by the man who was buying bomb making materials in a store while being videotaped.  There was a recently a court hearing for a group of men in the Houston area who were making plans to make bombs.  Let's see there was another arrest a few years ago of men who were planning on bombing the Sears Tower in Chicago among other iconic buildings and bridges.  We also have the Times Square Bomber who told the judge that he lied when he took his oath for his U.S. citizenship.  At his sentencing he said that he was only the beginning of the violence that will be heading our way from the hands of terrorists that want to kill us in the name of Islam.

There are reasons to take pause.  This is not something that is being made up, as some on the left would like you to believe.  We have the 9/11 truthers who don't believe that al Qeada even exists, it was manufactured by Bush to justify the war in Iraq.  Polls of Middle Eastern countries have consistently have shown that many in the Muslim world do not believe that bin Laden was behind 9/11 let alone any of the other near misses we have experienced since then.  These same polls show that many in these same countries believe that suicide bombings are justified.  That makes these types of conversations important to have.

All Juan Williams did was express the obvious and for that he was fired.  Now, I don't agree with Juan Williams on virtually anything.  Just last night before his firing was announced, I heard him on Fox talking about how rent control is necessary and capitalism needs to have its limits.  He came stunningly close to saying that private property rights should be secondary to the needs of the poor.  Not something that I agree with on any level.  But, I am standing up and protecting his right to say it.  I also stand up for the right for the Maddow's of the world.  She is doing commentary, she gets paid for her opinion.  I think her opinions are crazy and I don't understand why anyone wants to watch her show, but that is for the free market to decide, not me.

Less than 24 hours after his firing he was offered a $2 million contract with Fox News.  So, it seems to me that Fox is not only willing to have him express his leftist views, they are quite willing to pay well for it too.  Good for Juan.

Juan Williams Gets Axed By NPR

Juan Williams was officially let go by NPR on Wednesday night due to comments he made on the O'Reilly Factor on Monday night's show.  Juan and Bill were discussing the dust up on The View over his comments on Muslim terrorists.

Juan and Bill said the following:

“The cold truth is that in the world today jihad, aided and abetted by some Muslim nations, is the biggest threat on the planet.”
“I mean, look, Bill, I’m not a bigot. You know the kind of books I’ve written about the civil rights movement in this country. But when I get on the plane, I got to tell you, if I see people who are in Muslim garb and I think, you know, they are identifying themselves first and foremost as Muslims, I get worried. I get nervous.”
CAIR took offense to this exchange.  They told NPR to jump and they complied.  The reality is that the terrorism that is happening around the world is being done by Muslims in the name of Islam.  That fact cannot be denied and we just look silly when we try.  We cannot tell by looking at a person if they fall into the jihadi camp or not.  This coming the same day that the news has been released that Anwar Al-Awlaki, one of the most wanted terrorists in the world, had a luncheon at the Pentagon a few short months after the 9/11 attack.

I am not one to paint with broad brush about Muslims.  There are Muslims in the world that want the same things that I want, to live my life and raise my family in peace.  But, to ignore that there is a real problem in the world with Islamic terrorism is dangerous and downright stupid.

What is also just as dangerous is the fact that we have become a society that is not allowed to talk about these issues.  If you dare to talk about it, you are in danger of losing your job or being called a bigot.  Problems that are not talked about cannot be solved.  This is not an issue that is going to go away on it's own.  We must not only discuss the dangers in the world, we also need to stand up and face them.

CAIR, which has been shown to have ties to Hamas, is taking over the dialog in this country.  We have become so politically correct that we are endangering ourselves.

NPR's statement read in part:

...were inconsistent with our editorial standards and practices, and undermined his credibility as a news analyst with NPR.”

Hmm, inconsistent with NPR's standards.  They don't seem to have a problem with staff members wishing death upon Rush Limbaugh, but talking about the factual evidence that we have a problem with terrorists who want to kill us in the name of Islam is an offense worthy of being fired.    Makes perfect sense to me.

NAACP's Verdict is In - Tea Party = Racism

The report released today on the racism that exists in the Tea Party movement is about what one would expect.   Basically that we are a racist front group.  Now, they did take pains to point out that it isn't true of all tea party members.

Now, I think that the majority of the people in the Tea Party movement will acknowledge that racism exists not only in our country, but that due to the law of averages, that some of them have found their way into the tea party.  But, that is not a racist front group make.

Here are some of things that they point to as proof:

Opposition to Amnesty: The description that they use to talk about illegal immigrants is people without proper papers.  They don't have proper papers because they are violating the law.  Again, this is the same old thing from the left.  To them this about Hispanics.  To the tea party this about illegal immigrants and the governments refusal to protect our borders.  I don't want illegal immigrants in our country and I don't care what color they are.  If you are green and not here legally then you must go.  It isn't about color, it is about the rule of law.  This isn't a whole different than the hypocrisy that Mexico espouses when it wants to join into a lawsuit on Arizona's illegal immigration law all the while building a large fence it's own southern border.  Countries have the legal and moral responsibility to protects it's citizens.  That is written in our constitution.  It isn't some far off idea that we came up with because we don't like people with brown skin.  The illegal population in our country is a suck on our resources and must be addressed.  I think that they would find if they actually secured our borders than they would be able to get worker permits for the non criminals that are working and living in the country illegally.  There will be some that won't agree even then, but the reality is that it would happen after the borders are secure.   Both parties have nefarious reasons for not securing the border, and they need to get over it and get it done.

They go onto to talk about "Anchor Babies".  Even in their own report they admit that the purpose of the 14th amendment was to give citizenship to newly freed slaves.  The amendment was never meant to give children born to illegals citizenship.  The vast majority of other industrialized nations across the world require that at least one parent be a citizen in order to be given citizenship even if you were born there.  There is no reason that we can't do the same.  Again, this isn't about race, it is about common sense.

They talk about the birther movement as well.  I will be the first to admit that the birther movement is alive and well.  So I think that the NAACP should in turn be willing to admit that the birther movement started on the left by Hillary Clinton supporters, who were opposed to him getting the nomination for president.  My personal belief is that President Obama doesn't release his full form birth certificate just to allow this talk to continue.  It allows people to paint the right as wingnuts and works in his favor.  As an aside I was talking to my friend's boyfriend, soldier Joe, who works in military intelligence.  I asked him about security clearances and the president.  While the president would never be turned down for top secret clearance, there still is a shortened clearance done after the election.  A copy of his long form birth certificate is with the NSA, for those who want to know where it is.

We then move into the Muslim movement.  Again, this is alive and well.  I have decided that for the people who believe this, there is no sense trying to tell them that they are wrong, so I don't even bother anymore.  It is a waste of time.  I will actually concede this to NAACP.  Now, bringing the Ground Zero mosque into the conversation is where we are going to diverge.  The two are not really connected.  The opposition to the mosque is not as easily explained away as this reports makes it sound.  The report then goes into a long diatribe about Pamela Geller that I thought was unwarranted and totally disconnected to the issue at hand.

Now we can argue about racism in the ranks of the tea party until the cows come home.  The reality remains that if you have a group of millions of people (which the tea party is, make no mistake about that) there will be some fruits and nuts involved.  So what the entire purpose of this report is I don't understand.  The report itself says:
We know the majority of Tea Party supporters are sincere, principled people of good will
Now, I have never met someone at a tea party that was there for the sake of racism.  No one in the local tea parties that I am involved with seem to me to be racists.  We have people from different age groups and quite a few different nationalities.  Some of which whose first language is something other than English.  We have people who are in inter-racial marriages and are the parents and grand parents of bi-racial children.  So there is nothing to clean out in the ranks.  Our opposition is based on policies and core beliefs.

The report also talks about the false claims of the word nigger being hurled at congressman during the obamacare rally back in March.  There is no proof that it happened and with the amount of cell phones, video cameras, and cameras that were at that event someone would have picked it up.  Now, I will be willing to give the Congressman the benefit of the doubt and say that he isn't outright lying about the incident, maybe he believes that he heard it, but even The New York Times, not exactly sympathetic to the tea party cause, has denounced this claim and admits that it is false.  So when the NAACP puts this in its reports it damages the credibility of it's findings.  It also fails to mention, just like almost every other news outlet, that the Hitler posters are from the La Rouche crazies who show up at every tea party and have nothing to do with our movement and do not believe in the same values as we do.  They are actually much closer to the views of the uber liberal NAACP.

The NAACP would also be very wise to realize that state rights have nothing to do with Jim Crowe laws.  Laws about segregation have been deemed unconstitutional and the tea party is in no way looking to re-enact them.  We just want federalism to be protected as the founders envisioned, nothing for them to fear.

The fact that the only members of the Congressional Tea Party Caucus are white is another problem for them.  I have this feeling that will be changing very soon.  If Allen West is elected to congress, I think he would feel much more at home in the Tea Party Caucus then in the CBC who has actively campaigned for his white opponent.  One of the most under-reported stories of this election cycle is how many conservative blacks are running.  This problem will take care of itself in mere weeks.
